Fisterra Way - To the End of the World 1 Week Trip

Whether you only walk this trail or add it as an extension to any of our trips that end in Santiago de Compostela, this trail will leave you breathless. Walking to the westernmost point of Spain, the trail offers a great mix of rural Galicia and some stunning coastal scenery. End in the village of Fisterra, anciently known as ‘the end of the earth’.

Fisterra Way - 1 Week Trip From Santiago de Compostela to Fisterra Days 1-3 Santiago - Maroñas 20 km days (12 miles)

Arrival at Airport and transfer to your lodging in Santiago de Compostela. Take the time to walk around this legendary and historical town. There is a ton to see and do here.

As soon as you start your walk, you are rewarded with stunning views of the city and cathedral. Further along we pass the Puente Maceira. A XIIIth century roman style bridge.

The rush of the river beneath and medieval buildings surrounding the area make this a high point for many.

Day 4-6 Maroñas - Fisterra 17km days (11 miles)

A series of shorter days in distance but not in difficulty as we continue along the rolling hills of Galicia.

The last two are spent discovering hidden white sand beaches and enjoying the continually changing views of the coastline. An extra 3 km walk takes us to the furthest Western point of Spain and what was believed to be the ‘end of the earth’.

Days 7 Airport Transfer

Depending on the time of your flight home, you can either enjoy more time meandering through the streets of Fisterra or head straight back to the airport.

Consider extending your trip by a day or two to fully enjoy the sites of Santiago and Fisterra, both very worthwhile places to fully explore.

Located on the Bay. Rooms have great views of the water in a comfortable environment.

FISTERRA - PRADO DA VINA

Located on the edge of the city, it is a modern stone home with great grounds to relax in.

SANTIAGO - HOTEL ALTAIR

Modern rooms in an ancient home. Located on the edge of the historical center, where it is much quieter and tranquil.
