TIPS FOR GETTING STARTED IN

MOTOCROSS Motocross is an extreme sport in which riders attempt a series of tricks, stunts and jumps on motorcycles, sometimes on purpose-built courses and other times on challenging natural terrain. Similar to BMX riding but at higher speeds and with a heavier bike, motocross can be an exhilarating pastime but it is not without risk, so getting into it requires building up slowly.

As with any sport, a few lessons at the beginning would not go amiss and will help to establish safety rules.

BMX Practice

Many motocross riders find it helps initially to practice some of stunts using a BMX bicycle, to get a feel for the experience at a lower level of risk before attempting these stunts on a motorbike.

Attend a School As with any sport, a few lessons at the beginning would not go amiss and will help to establish safety rules. Many schools will also have a wide selection of bikes for riders to experiment with, which can be invaluable when gearing up to purchasing a first bike.

Find an Established Circuit An established circuit will provide plenty of challenges for experienced and inexperienced riders alike, in an environment designed
