CLOGGING (floating) seven years old Preliminary of YukonRace Project 1. Why did this new moniker appeared in current language? What does it mean? Why did we devoted our founders in the title? Here are some questions to which you will find answers along the next pages. We begin by emphasizing that our idol was, and remained Terry Fox. In that period of our youth (we are somewhat of the same generation with Terry) altruistic ideals were appreciated and encuraged. Now, when times reached a disgusting hedonism dissolved and implosive when dominant philosophy of "the end of history" has become the hyper-consumerism celebrated sardonic in modern cathedrals of sultry and still leveling globalism, cathedrals called malls or hypermarkets, well, now in this moment some of us who have always loved Don Quixote de la Mancha, breathing avidly the idealism printed by Cervantes, initiated this action. Terry FOX was born on July 28, 1958 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He had two brothers (Fred and Darell) and a sister (Judith). In 1966 the family moved in British Colombia, settling permanently in Port Coquitlam (a suburb of Vancouver) in 1968. Terry's desire was to become a sports teacher. His dream was close to fulfil by co-opting him in Simon Fraser University team in Vancouver. However something unexpected happened... A very serious car accident. After the x-ray analyses a frightening truth has been communicated to the family. It was in 1977. Terry had at one leg Osteogenetic Sarcoma – a type of bone cancer. The only solution of the time was amputation, 15 cm above the knee. After performing the operation, Terry started walking after three weeks (of course, having a prosthesis). Also in that year, he integrated perfectly in the University's basketball team playing in the wheelchair.

In 1979, after long conversations with his friend Doug Alward, it was decided to organize something out of the ordinary: an infernal transcanadian race between St. Jhon 's, Terranova and Vancouver British Colombia on a distance of over 5600 km, running every day for more than 40 km. It was a plan at the limit of possible because Terry had one leg. This race was to be called the MARATHON of HOPE. The purpose was raising a Canadian dollar of every citizen of this country, in voluntarily of course, for a foundation that would accelerate research in the field of Osteogenetic Sarcoma. This initiative was immediately appreciated by Canadian Cancer Society, Ford, Adidas, Safeway etc.. The MARATHON of HOPE began on 12 April 1980 and ended on September 10, 1980. Terry managed to get only up to half of the path, but he did miracles ... St. Jhon's raised 10,000 Canadian dollars. In may his brother Darell joined the race. On June 10 he arrives in Quebec. In Toronto he receives 100,000 Canadian dollars. Bobby Orr handes him 25,000 Canadian dollars. At Gravenhurst receives $ 14,000. Until august 12 he raised $ 11.4 million Canadian dollars. In Thunderbay, on the shore of Lake superior, on august 31, 1980, the cancer invaded his lungs and Terry had to give up being transported to Vancouver. Until February 1981 he raised 24,17 million Canadian dollars, and the Terry Fox Foundation would start work. A dream come true. Terry died on 28 June 1981. Since then participate every year hundreds of thousands of runners at this marathon, from over 60 countries. Research has saved many lives. Many former patients have become some genuine marathonists. Now in these troubled times, a few of us get ready for another Marathon: with water shoes (cloggs) on major rivers in 800 days in more than 7 years. The total length of our trial is 40075 km (the length of the Equator) divided into seven stages, each with 5725 km. We will elaborate in detail all the technical

details. Now we prefer only to recall the words of Andre GIDE who said that "man cannot discover new oceans while he does not have the courage to lose sight of his own land". 2. Some of us do not know if life is a divine gift, a pure random or a huge burden, but we believe that the ancient Hebrews were right when they said: "Be mindful of your thoughts Because they will be words. Be mindful of your facts, Because they will be habits. Be mindful of your habits, Because they will be your character. Be mindful of your character, Because he will be your destiny." That is why we have to reassure because "our illness" offers us a chance: "clogging" or our destiny for 7 years. The verb "to clogg" means to prevent and is of course in English – the universal language of our time. The noun "clogg" means a shoe with wood or rubber sole. In our view, clogging is a new sport, a sort of ski-fond on the water. The support is represented by two floating devices of a special construction of fiberglass, ensuring a sufficient buoyancy of over 150 kg. Of course these kind of experiments to go/float on water had already been made. An Englishman in 1962, or Chinese people today that produce some kind of toy inspired from the Alibaba model. But our innovation is conceptually different. It is known that people ate sandwiches before the McDonald's Corporation or, the Mexican pita has been enjoyed long before the Taco Bell corporation. Even the F1 car is different from the car itself. Here are just some of the reasons that make us dare to propose this new sport that we want to become olympic.

3. In fact "clogging" is more than just a new sport, is something else: is looking for wisdom in the middle of nature on rivers, fishing, observing this tired world rolling, floating slowly and eating in calm, meaning "slow float "," slow food ", "forests and stars ". Is a new way of life. New World's Nomads work with computers, floating on the big rivers and sleeping in egg-houses. On the other hand YuconRace is a very difficult competition that unfolds during 40075 km (the length of the Equator). This project is extremely complex and will be adjusted taking into account your suggestions, dear founders. This requires starting a foundations with personality which will coordinate all subordinated associations that will be featured in the sequel. This non-profit foundation will procure the minimum funds required for the experiments with these water slippers and those with egg-houses in the purpouse of registration the proposed innovations. After completing the 1008 seats with members from all around the world, this non-profit foundation will oversee the organizations derived, but will equally manage globa charitable activities on climate changes that are unavoidable. We will present further subordinate lists containing the associations and specific activities of the foundation. You have to continue to sit in the sun to "bake our brains" who proposed a project that seems at first glance odd. Of course we do on the great rivers for 7 years.

I Am the Story The first letter to a friend - My sponsor My Dear Friend, There are moments in some people's life when an inside fracture occurs. Suddenly a fixed idea appears and they won't give up, intriguing their peers. It's like a revelation suddenly marking them for life. Of course, they become less understood by the so-called normal majority , but they don't care about this.... They go forward on the path predetermined by the idea that elected them. At first alone. After a while, they are joined by more and more. Here's how a small, tumultuous mountain river, becomes a large river. He is the future... This happened several times in historical times... In Plato's cave, lived a cohesive community, which reproduced at the protective shelter offered by "their common house." They lived in semi-darkness. They settled for less, but they brought goods for their protective gods. Until one day when a young man emerged from the cave leaving over the world. He took a huge risk: he dared to face the burning light of noon Mediteranean sun. He roamed the world and enchanted by the wonders seen, he decided to return to his native cavern. The meeting was ambiguous, confused because the tribe members believed he was dead. And yet... after he shared the story of his travels, he suggested to lead them to the way he already knew: to light, to green plains, to the azure and splendid sea, to civilization. The reaction? Catastrophic. The elders board met and offered, generously, two alternatives: either to be stoned to remain as an example of civil disobedience in memory of future generations, or be exiled forever. He chose the second option of course. Plato's conclusion: light is a physical assault for shade-loving herbivore crowds. Another example... Moses was raised by Pharaoh's sister, being a prominent member of that rigid Egypt's elite. When the time came, he preferred to give up all his possessions choosing dessert, being guided by an

inner strong and consuming fire that feed, comfort and stimulate him. Because he saw the future... Even before the last breath, after he led his people to Canaan, he didn't saw only his people country, but its great future. And finally, one last example... why did the young king Sakia Muni left the kingdom of Nepal, his wife, his newborn son and his own people, to look for a dream or wisdom, becoming Buddha ? Because all these remarkable people were called for their missions. They were the instruments through which the future has to be different. And it was!
