SCOTLAND’S

WHAT IS SCOTLAND’S BRAVEST MANUFACTURING COMPANY? Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company is an exciting new social enterprise opening in Scotland in summer 2018. We will provide employment opportunities for Scottish Armed Forces veterans, enabling them to work and develop independence in a challenging and commercially focused environment. We will support those who, for whatever reason, find themselves some distance from the workplace. The social enterprise is a collaborative project between RBLI (who already run a successful social enterprise in Kent) and fellow military charity Erskine. The purpose is about creating independence through employment and Erskine has bold new plans for apartments on their village for those veterans needing accommodation as well as employment. The consultation teams have been overwhelmed by the level of support and encouragement from Veterans Scotland and many of its member Charities. We see this new initiative as playing a part in the much broader and positive support already being given to the Armed Forces Community in Scotland. Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company will manufacture a wide array of signs and deliver fulfilment, print, mail and recycling services using the latest technology and equipment. The offer is one of quality, competitive pricing and appropriate response times. The additional offer is of course the offer of Social Value. Buying your services from Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Co will not only meet your corporate social responsibility objectives but will make a real difference to the lives of many veterans and their families.

ABOUT RBLI & ERSKINE Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) was founded in 1919 to provide care and support to WW1 veterans with TB. The veterans they supported needed long-term support and rehabilitation, so work was provided in the form of manufacturing wooden toys, soap and more. Over time this manufacturing division of the charity developed into a flourishing social enterprise which was relaunched as Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company (BBMC) in April 2016. Customers of BBMC include Network Rail, Amey and Knauf. Erskine was founded in 1916, when the first Erskine Hospital, then The Princess Louise Scottish Hospital for Limbless Sailors and Soldiers, was opened thanks to the generosity of the people of Scotland. Erskine is now known as Scotland’s foremost provider of care for veterans and their spouses. Their person-centred care is tailored to the needs of each individual veteran, and on their 80-acre estate near Glasgow, Erskine provide homes for many veterans and their families. Erskine and RBLI have come together in order to create a dynamic community for veterans which has employment and independence at its heart. Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company is based at Erskine Headquarters, Bishopton, Renfrewshire, PA7 5PU.

Regular reviews of our machinery and processes mean that we can plan to invest. Our team of Armed Forces veterans will also be an asset - every veteran we employ will come with new skills and knowledge which will be added to our collective understanding of the sector. This will allow us to continually expand our services and develop new, innovative solutions for our customers.

WORKING TOGETHER We want to work with organisations across Scotland so we can provide employment to as many Armed Forces veterans as possible. These relationships will be beneficial to us and our teams, but also to the companies who buy from us, many of whom we can support in fulfilling their corporate social responsibility objectives. Together we will show that you can buy products and services at competitive prices, whilst also helping those who are disadvantaged. If you are interested in playing a part in this journey, please get in touch with our teams! Thank you to those companies who have already discussed working with the Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company team:
