Glossary

‘Rhodia’: developed as a common-use name for the Brazilian operation in general, derived from the name of the initial subsidiary in Brazil, and coming to cover also the textile subsidiary of that company. ‘Rhodia’ is also the name of one of ‘Rhodia’s’ rayons.

Artificial Fibres: chemically synthesised fibres with cellulose as its organic constituent.

Synthetic Fibres: fully chemically synthesised fibres.

Man-made fibres: term encompassing both of the above.
