Chapter. I

Mr.Anyone was a well renowned man. One-eyed scholar in a fancy white suit And a smooth black hat. Dangling the blue beads that matches his eye. Holding in his hands a silky white fan. Mr.Anyone was the man who knows his game.

Brought up with fairly high education. Taught to be hardworking and humble indeed. Mr.Anyone would listen And make a clever judgment Behind his modern monocle. Everyone believed that Anyone always has the perfect answer. “Look! He is the man to judge.”

Mr.Anyone was a man of elegance. Polished his skin with the finest walnut oil, Blushed his pale face in delicate red. He glowed like the finest red oak.

Every time he visits the beauty salon Mr.Anyone would grunt with the bills. “Of course, for some people Linseed oil should be fairly agreeable. But you see, Everyone’s choice Is never the best choice.”

Anyone coveted fame and gain That everyone wants. Nothing was ever enough. But Anyone also knew It was better to play innocent To gain without blame.

Everyone would be deeply moved by Mr.Anyone’s words and praise. “O how kind and considerate is Mr.Anyone!”

Chapter. II

One day a stranger in a red velvet cloak Knocked on Mr.Anyone’s door to ask, “Dear wisest man, I am a mere merchant.”

“In my hands is A bottle of the most precious sunflower oil Mixed with golden fairy dust From afar, far away wonderland.”

“It is nothing like any others A drop shall remove all the scars. The second drop will amend the broken heart. The third drop will bring eternal youth and beauty. I shall give the treasure to the noblest man in the world. Tell me, Anyone. To whom shall I present this treasure?”

Mr.Anyone hid his glowing blue eye Behind the monocle To speak in the most gracious voice. “Say, to name a man ‘noble’, One must share wisdom Show generosity And live in the most elegant manner.”

The merchant asked, “Who shall that be?” Mr.Anyone cleared his throat And polished his blue jewel eye With the golden silk handkerchief. “Ahem, that would be the special someone Who everyone knows the answer to.”

Merchant answered, “Of course! I shall find Mr.Someone To give him what he deserves. Thank you, wise man.” Mr.Anyone answered, “Now, now. No hurries. Think again. It could be Anyone in front of you.”

But excited merchant stood up To leave the room with the golden bottle In the pure silk bag. “The most precious gift to the bravest one! To Someone!” Mr.Anyone called the merchant in a hurry, “Wait! Anyone can certainly be that Special Someone! But Someone is not meant to be Anyone!” But the merchant was long gone.

The next morning the town was shocked As the broken mask and ripped cloak was found Around the darkest corner of the woods But the merchant was nowhere to be found.

“Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The tragedy of the unknown merchant. The mystery of the missing golden bottle. How horrifying was the sweet fragrance At the scene of the disastrophe!”

Whispered a voice. “Who is the man? Who is the man of the finest oil in the town? Who is the arrogant pretentious man To think No-one would notice?”

Whispered the second voice. “Yes, I see your point! Who is the man with walnut oil glaze?”

Gossip spread fast but soon the silence fell.

The next day a man in fancy emerald eyes With a huge leather suitcase Knocked on Mr.Anyone’s door to say, “Dear wise man, I am a rich collector Of the finest jewels around the world.”

“The words in the wind told me that You have a wonderful blue lapis eye. See the sparkle shining through Right down to the very truth! My murky emeralds are mere rocks Compared to your lapis.” Mr.Anyone smiled, “Your emeralds are fairly agreeable, too.”

The rich opened the bag. From ruby to diamond, blue sapphire To pearls and emeralds. Not a scratch or a pinch of dust. Every single piece of the highest class. The rich asked, “Wise-one, is there anything to your taste? I shall give you as you like, As much as you like.”

Mr.Anyone hid his glowing blue eye Behind the monocle To speak in the most gracious voice. “How would a man seeking the truth Chase after wealth in greed? Ahem, but I must confess, If you insist, it does not feel quite right To turn down your innocent favour.”

The rich laughed out loud Rattling layers of luxurious accessories. “How humble and honest are you, The man of great wisdom! Without a doubt the rumour was true.” Mr.Anyone cleared his throat And polished his blue jewel eye With the golden silk handkerchief. “It is a pity that I cannot share the opportunity With Everyone who is less fortunate.”

The rich answered, “Indeed! I shall find Mr.Everyone Who never had a chance To give your share of fortune. What a good deed, indeed. Thank you, humble man.” Mr.Anyone answered, “Now, now. No hurries. Think again. Give firstly to someone Who can truly appreciate it. That is the good deed for anyone.”

The rich patted his big belly in excitement. To leave the room with the finest jewels In the huge leather suitcase. “The most precious gift to the most greedless one! To Mr.Someone!” Mr.Anyone called the man in a hurry, “Wait! Anyone speaks of the good intentions But ignorant Someone may lead to bad deeds.” But the rich was long gone.

The next morning the town was horrified As the rich man’s mask was found Around the corner of the town hall. Two eye holes empty and hollow Green emeralds and jewels nowhere to be found.

“Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Man of emerald-eyes, where are the missing jewels! Not a body to be found. Not a clue to be seen. Brutal murder of the century. Only a single white thread of silk found On the void eye hole!”

Whispered a voice. “Who is the man? Who took an innocent life? Along with the emeralds fairly agreeable As much as the only blue lapis in the town.”

Whispered the second voice. “Yes, I see your point! Who knows the best of its value in the town?”

“I have bought the white hat and the white fan From some unfortunate scholars. But that haughty white suit Did they not sell till the end. Would you sell me a set of your white suit? Not to worry. I will give you a reasonable price to be fair.”

Mr.Anyone’s face turned purple in rage. “How dare you! No honour of mine is for sale. How rude and insulting! Get lost!”

Narrowing his eyes, The man in suit clapped and laughed, “What a remarkable pride. With the shallow skin built of wealth. From your fine quality oil, To flawless silk clothing! What a humble crown!”

Mr.Anyone furiously screamed, “Get out!”

The next morning the town was terrified. As the man’s white hat and the fan was found Deep in a mud pool.

“Extra! Extra! Read all about it! A man of the incomplete suit, Shooting for the stars! How did lose his justice? Who is the devil To take away the innocent man’s voice?”

Whispered a voice. “Who is the man? Who took the three innocent lives? Who monopolizes the truth? The greedy pig always longing for more. Coveting fame and gains That everyone wants.”

Whispered the second voice. “Yes, I see your point! Mr.Anyone is the man.”
