HOW YOU CAN ENFORCE YOUR PROPHECY
he cross-over service from 2016 to 2017 took place on December 31, 2016 at the 3km x 3km Arena in the Redemption Camp. The General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye spoke on Enforcing Prophecies using 1 Kings 18:41-46 as his main text. Pastor Adeboye described prophecies as God’s revelation of the future through His prophet in line with Amos 3:3. He identified what a believer must do to enforce the prophecy that affects him. 1. You must believe God from whom prophecies come, 1 Chro. 20:20. You need to believe Him because He knows the end from the beginning, Acts 15:18. Once He has spoken, it is done, Psa. 33:8-9. No matter how unbelievable it may sound, once God says a thing, you can be sure that it is done; Numbers 23:19. 2. Believe His prophet, 2 Chro. 20:20; 1 Sam 3:19. When a true prophet says what God has said, believe him. It may sound incredible, believe it. In 2 Kings 2:19-20, the waters of Jericho were healed according to the words of Elisha. 3. Know that God is sovereign. This means that God can do as He likes, Psa. 115:3. He reserves the right to change His mind, Ezekiel 33:13-16; Isa. 38:1-8. To ensure that your good prophecy is not changed therefore, what must you do . 1. Honour God, 1 Sam. 2:30; Prov. 3:9-10. 2. Do not rob God, Mal. 3:8-11. 3. Make God happy with you by winning souls, Luke 15:10. 4. Learn to fast, Phil. 3:19. Don’t let your stomach become your god. 5. Pray, and keep praying till the prophecy comes to pass, 1 Thess. 5:17; John 16:24. 6. Ensure that you are not distracted. Don’t let your life be controlled by what others may think, say or do, Psa. 34:1-4; Psa. 108:1; Joshua 24:15.
PROPHECIES FOR 2017
The focal word for the year 2017 is, SURPRISES
INDIVIDUALS 1. It will be a year of surprises for both true and false prophets. 2. There will be a large number of weddings. 3. Soul winners will see their prophecies fulfilled almost as soon as they are uttered. NIGERIA 1. 2017 will be a year of surprises, but you need to understand that the same surprise may mean different things for the oppressor and the oppressed. 2. Those deliberately making life difficult for the common man will be relocated. 3. The downward plunge will slow down, it will stop and a reversal will begin. INTERNATIONAL 1. There will be surprises for many world governments. 2. They are coming in twos; Monster earthquakes, monster floods, monster hurri canes and typhoons, monster tornadoes, monster fire outbreaks

Editorial Suite 2017: The year of Surprises
T
he 2016 Congress was a great event through which God saved thousands of souls, healed many and wrought diverse miracles in the lives of a great lot of people. Considering the choice of the theme for the Congress “Complete Restoration” and the various ways in which God touched lives at the event, many are of the opinion that God was giving His people a foretaste of what He has in stock for 2017. This feeling appeared confirmed when during the cross-over service held at the 3km x 3km Arena in the Redemption Camp, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye declared that the keyword for the new year is, SURPRISES. Recall the surprise that followed that transformation of the dry bones in Ezekiel 37:1-10 which was the text on which Pastor E. A. Adeboye’s message on the Friday night of the Congress was anchored. What about the surprise when the giant Goliath suddenly fell to the stone from the sling of a small shepherd boy, David. Surprise, is surely a two-edged sword. Depending on which side of it you are, it can be pleasant or painful. Pastor Adeboye’s sermon page is fully loaded as he writes on Complete Restoration and the process leading to it. So much expectation heralded 2017, and one of the major reasons is the significance of the number 7 in the year. In this edition, courtesy of biblestudy.org, we bring to you the meaning and significance of the number. It is titled, “2017: The number 7 in the Bible.” On our Stay Healthy Column, Dr. (Mrs.) Ayoola Aiyegbusi discusses with us, “Preventing Lifestyle Diseases: Artheroclerosis. Complete Restoration

the house but the son abides. If you are a child of God, you have the privilege of abiding in the house of God. Psalm 91:1-16 says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty…... thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not come near you…”. When you are a child of God, your future is secure. Romans 8:16-17 says that if you are a child of God, then you

C
omplete Restoration begins from a clear understanding of the need to become a child of God There are many advantages of being a son of God. One of the major advantages is the miracle provision. In Matt. 15:21-28, the Lord Jesus Christ said clearly that miracles are children’s bread. In other words, if you are not a child of God, forget miracles. If you are not born again and you are asking for miracles, what you can only get would be magic not miracles. The devil can give you as many magic as you want as long as he knows that at the end of the day, he will have your soul. Miracles come from God and God is holy. The angels are always singing “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty”. When you run to devil, false prophets or magicians, with one hand they are giving you something and with the other, they are giving you a burden far bigger than the one you brought to them. Rather, the blessings of the Lord maketh rich and added no sorrows. When a miracle comes from God, it comes clean. No strings are attached to the miracles of God. One of the blessings of being a child of God is divine protection. In John 8:35, the Bible says a servant does not abide in
Ezekiel 37: 1-10
are an heir of God. You have a heritage with God. Whatever is available to Jesus Christ is available to you. If you are a child of God, you have divine guidance. Rom 8:14 says “as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.” In all these things, we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. Someone came to me years ago and said “Sir I have a message for you from God” and he said “thus saith the Lord, tell my servant, Adeboye …” I told him to stop right there because his message was not from God”. He said “you have not even heard the message yet you conclude that it is not from God”. I said “my father does not address me as servant. He calls me son”. When you are a child, you will enjoy a peculiar kind of love. In 1 John 3:1-2, the Bible says “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God...” I remember years ago, when some people took me up on why I always say that “my Daddy says.” They asked me, “who is this your daddy” and I said “God”. They said “How can you be calling God, daddy? He is our Father” I reply them “Don’t let
us quarrel, He may be your Father, but He is my Daddy.” There is a special love when you are a child of God and because of this special love Rom. 8:37 says “we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us” Only a child of God can say “I am more than a conqueror”. If you are a child of God, He loves you specially. More than a conqueror means you win without fighting because your Father will be fighting your battles for you. If you are not a child of God, you are missing the love, victory, protection, miracles of God and a future that is very uncertain. Complete restoration is a gradual process. Using the example of the dry bones, Ezekiael 37:1-10, I want to point out a number of points on the process that will lead to complete restoration. 1. The bones were not just dry but very dry. Whenever God wants to begin the process of total restoration, He remembers the forgotten. These bones had been there for a very long time and they were forgotten but one day God remembered the dry bones. Whenever God remembers the forgotten, miracles are bound to follow. In Gen 8:1 “And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged.” The time of hiding was over for Noah. In Gen. 30:22-24, God remembered Rachael and opened her womb. In Ex. 2: 24, God remembered Israel after four hundred and thirty years and their years of suffering ended. 2. God visited the dry bone. Whenever God visits someone, something miraculous happens. In John 5:2-9, the man by the pool of Bethesda for thirty eight years was paid a visit by God. In 2 Chron. 1:6-15, when God visited Solomon in the night, he got a blank cheque from the Almighty God. When God paid Abraham a
visit in Gen. 18:1-4, the laughter of Sarah began. I am believing God for someone that God is going to visit and your laughter will begin. 3. God did not visit the dry bone alone, He came with a prophet. In Amos 3:7, the Bible says “surely God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” In Hosea 12:13, the bible says “and by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved”. He took a prophet in 2 Kgs 2:19-22 to put an end to all the terrible things happening in Jericho. It took a prophet to cancel the curse that had been tormenting the people. 4. As soon as God and the prophet arrived, God spoke. He started talking to the prophet. The first time God spoke, a miracle happened. In Gen. 1: 3, God said, “let there be light,” and there was light. Whenever God speaks, light breaks out. In Mark 10: 46-52, when Bartimeaus had been crying unto God and they brought him to Jesus
Christ, Jesus asked him “what do you want?” He said, “I want to receive my sight,” and God spoke. Suddenly the man who had been in darkness suddenly saw light. Ps. 107:20 says “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Whenever God speaks, the irreversible becomes reversed. This is because He made all things and He can change everything. In John 11:39-44, when He got to the tomb of Lazarus, all He did was speak and Lazarus who was dead for days came forth alive. 5. God spoke and the prophet prophesied. When God is the One behind the prophet, whatever the prophet says will come to past. There is a difference between the word of knowledge and prophecy. In 1 Sam. 3:19, God did not allow the word of Samuel to fall to the ground. If you are His prophet, when you speak, He will back it up. In Job 22: 21-28, the word of God says if you Continued on pg. 12 REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017 | 7
2017: The Number, 7, in the Bible
U
sed 735 times (54 times in the book of Revelation alone), the number 7 is the foundation of God’s word. If we include with this count, how many times ‘sevenfold’ (6) and ‘seventh’ (119) is used, our total jumps to 860 references. Seven is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual). It derives much of its meaning from being tied directly to God’s creation of all things. According to Jewish tradition, the creation of Adam occurred on October 7th, 3761 B.C. (or the first day of Tishri, which is the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar). The word ‘created’ is used 7 times describing God’screative work (Genesis 1:1, 21, 27 three times; 2:3; 2:4). There are 7 days in a week and God’s Sabbath is on the 7th day. The Bible, as a whole, was originally divided into 7 major divisions. They are 1) the Law; 2) the Prophets; 3) the Writings, or Psalms; 4) the Gospels and Acts; 5) the General Epistles; 6) the Epistles of Paul; and 7) the book of Revelation. The total number of originally inspired books was forty-nine, or 7 x 7, demonstrating the absolute perfection of the Word of God.
Appearances of the number seven
There are at least seven men in the Old Testament who are specifically mentioned as “a man of God.” They are Moses (Joshua 14:6), David (2Chronicles 8:14), Samuel (1Samuel 9:6, 14), Shemaiah (1Kings 12:22), Elijah (1Kings 17:18), Elisha (2Kings 5:8) and Igdaliah (Jeremiah 35:4). In the book of Hebrews, written by Apostle Paul, he uses seven titles to refer to Christ. The titles are ‘Heir of all things’ (Hebrews 1:2), ‘Captain of our salvation’ (2:10), ‘Apostle’ (3:1), ‘Author of salvation’ (5:9), ‘Forerunner’ (6:20), ‘High Priest’ (10:21) and the ‘Author and finisher of our faith’ (12:2). In Matthew 13, Jesus is quoted as giving seven parables (Matthew 13:3 - 9, 24 - 30, 31 - 32, 33, 44, 45 - 46, 47). Seven Psalms are ascribed to David in the New Testament (Psalm 2, 16, 32, 41, 69, 95 and 109). In the book of Revelation there are seven churches, seven angels to the seven churches, seven seals, seven trumpet plagues, seven thunders and the seven last plagues. The first resurrection of the dead takes place at the 7th trumpet, completing salvation for the Church.
How is number seven linked with God’s annual Feast Days? There are 7 annual Holy Days, beginning with Passover and ending with the Last Great Day (the day after the Feast of Tabernacles 8 | REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017
ends in the fall). The cycle of the holy days is completed in 3 festival seasons by the 7th month of the sacred calendar: Passover and Unleavened Bread, 1st month; Pentecost, 3rd month; and Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles and Last Great Day, 7th month.
Additional info on the Biblical Meaning of 7
Jesus performed seven miracles on God’s holy Sabbath Day (which ran from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset), thus affirming its continued sacredness to God and necessity in the life of the believer. 1. Jesus healed the withered hand of a man attending synagogue services (Matthew 12:9). 2. At a Capernaum synagogue he casts out an unclean spirit that possessed a man (Mark 1:21). 3. Right after the above miracle Jesus heals Peter’s wife’s mother of a fever (Mark 1:29). 4. A woman attending synagogue, who was made sick by a demon for eighteen years, is released from her bondage (Luke 13:11) . 5. At a Pharisee’s house eating a meal with the host and several lawyers, Jesus heals a man with dropsy (Luke 14:2). 6. A man who is disabled and unable to walk is healed at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:8 - 9). 7. Jesus heals a man born blind at the pool of Siloam (John 9:14). Text: Genesis 8:13-19 “And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. ‘’Happy new year’ has become a general slogan in our societies today. But to Noah and to all that were with him in the Ark, ‘Happy New Year’ wasn’t a mere statement when they came out and saw that the flood had disappeared: it was a beginning of brand new things in the generation of Noah. Practically and miraculously speaking, to them, it was a statement of facts which was the true picture of what they experienced when their New Year arrived. It was that year that the Bible says ‘in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth’ 1. It was in their New Year when God commanded the storms to cease. No doubt about it, there were certain storms that terrorized your life last year. Last year, definitely, you witnessed a kind of period of uncertainty. Last year, there were situations that were characterized with unfruitfulness. Last year, there were storms that produced fear and panic. But starting from first day of the first month of this year, God, in His Almightiness, is putting an end to all these storms. The Bible speaks of this our God in Psalms 107:29-30; “He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.” When God stills a storm, His ultimate goal is that we can reach our goals unhindered. Happy New Year because all obstacles standing on your way to breakthrough have been removed. He demonstrated this in Luke 8:24-25 “And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.” 2. Also, in that New Year, God healed the land that the storms had affected. But when God put an end to the storm in the days of Noah, He went ahead to ridding the land of the waters that had affected it. “And Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.” Gen. 8:13. This same God says in Isaiah 57:18-19; “I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him.”

Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him.” Gen. 13:15,16,18. This year, you will go forth. In going forward this year, you will to experience divine speed.
In this New Year, your entire life will experience a bright new beginning in Jesus There in this year like never before, SEEK Name. GOD AND BE INVOLVED IN HIS KINGDOM’S BUSINESS. According to Hosea In Jeremiah 30:17 God says: “For I will 6:2-3, God is ready for those who will follow restore health unto thee, and I will heal to know Him thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is “After two days will he revive us: in the Zion, whom no man seeketh after.” third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. God spoke again. God always spoke once. Ps 62:11 says “God has spoken once ….” In Mark 8:22-25, a man was brought to Him and he was touched but after a second touch he received his sight and he saw clearly. Some people need second touch before their restoration can be complete. 11. The prophet prophesied again. He could have said I have already prophesied once. In Amos 3:8, the Bible says the lion has roared, who will not fear. When God tells the prophet to prophesy again, he prophesied again. In 2 Kgs. 20: 1-6, God sent His prophet Isaiah to King Hezekiah to put his house in order. As soon as he finished, the king began to pray and weep and God told the prophet to go back and prophesy again. I am prophesying “every prophecy against your destiny is cancelled in Jesus name.” All the problems in your life will vanish very soon in Jesus name. 12. The wind blew. Whenever the wind blows, all sorts of miracles will happen. In Ex. 14:21-, when the wind

decree a thing, it shall be established unto you. In 2 Kgs. 7:1-11, Elisha said there would be abundance in Samaria and God backed it up. 6. There was a noise after the prophecy. Anytime God comes to Camp and He wants to do something special, there must be a noise. In 1 Sam 4:5-6, the Bible said when they brought the ark of God into the Camp of the children of Israel, they shouted. In Joshua 6:20, when the wall of Jericho was about to fall, there was a noise. In 2 Kings 7:1-11, when the siege was upon Samaria and God was going to lift the siege, He caused the enemies to hear a noise. 7. There was a shaking. Whenever God is present, there must be a shaking. Ps. 114:7 says the earth must tremble before the Lord. In acts 16: 25-26, there was an earthquake when God arrived at the prison where Paul and Silas were kept. In Matt. 28: 1-2, on the resurrection morning, there was an earthquake. 8. After the shaking, the bones came together; bones to bones. In Gen. 2:18-23, the Almighty God said it is not good for a man to be alone. By the time God finished what He said, Adam was able to look up and say “this is the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh”. In Gen 24:63-67, Isaac did not make any effort to get a wife unlike Jacob that labour for 14 years in Gen 28:15-30. 9. Flesh and skin covered the bones. This meant the nakedness of the bone was covered. In 2 Kgs. 4:1-7, some creditors threatened to take the sons of a widow and sell them. She ran to the man of God and her nakedness was covered. In 2 Kgs. 5:1-4, Naaman had a shame that could not be hidden and God covered his nakedness. 10. When the bones came together,
blew, there was a way in the red sea. In 2 Kings 2:9-15, when Elisha said to Elijah that he wanted a double portion of his anointing, the man of God said if you can see me when I’m taken away from you, you will get what you asked for. The wind blew and the man of God got what he wanted. That which your heart desires more than anything else, you will get it today in Jesus name. In Acts 2:1-4, the wind blew on the day of Pentecost and power came. God does not only not want you to have complete restoration, He also wants you to become an agent of restoration. Whenever the wind blows, unbelievable things happen. There will be a way where there is no way. The dry bones received life, and suddenly a great army arose. When we talk about the greatness of an army, it is not determined by the number but by the victories they have. There are victories and there are victories. 1 Sam 17:34-51 tells us about the great victories of Daniel but there is no victory like victory without a fight. In 2 Chron. 20:1-25, not only did Jehosaphat defeat the kings that gathered against him without a fight, the wealth of the three nations were converted to him. In conclusion, whenever God wants to bring about a complete restoration, everything He speaks to will obey Him. The question is will you obey everything He says? If you are still living in sin and you are yet to surrender your life to Jesus, you better yield your life to Him today. Tomorrow might be too late. If you claim that you are born again, but you are still living in sin, stop deceiving yourself, come to Jesus now; let Him reshape your destiny. The choice is yours now. Cry to Jesus Christ and ask Him to be merciful unto you. Ask Him to forgive you your sins, save your soul and write your name in the book of life.

Complete Restoration @ 2016 Holy Ghost Congress
T
he 19th Annual Holy Ghost Congress of the Redeemed Christian Church of God with the them Complete Restoration was held between December 5th and 10th 2016 Redemption Camp. While welcoming the congregation, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General
14 | REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017
Overseer urged them to seize the opportunity of the six days to cry unto the Lord so as to get speedy answers. He prayed that they would not miss their blessings as they give their full attention to God. The first night began on a good note as Professor Fola Aboaba officially declared the congress open. The Senior Pastor of
King’s Way International Centre, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, spoke on “Power of Thanksgiving”. He defined thanksgiving as an act of being grateful for what God has done, for the benefit received and the expansion of the church. Thanksgiving produces multiplication, it brings promotion, it is God’s secret weapon of warfare and it reviews the future. According to him, thanksgiving produces sign and wonders; it proves God in one’s life. It is a recognition that God is still in charge. People who give thanks never beg they command. On Tuesday evening, Pastor E.A. Adeboye outlined ways to attract the healing virtues of God, while speaking on the topic “Healing Virtues” which include living a holy life and a life of soul winning, stressing that many Christians are yet to realise the danger of not winning souls. He said that not all deaths are sudden, some death creep in to human beings in a very slow manner. Warning also of the danger of taking human lives because, according to
him, the life of the animal is embedded in the blood, he maintained that the healing virtue of the Creator of the Universe can only be attracted to a life void of sin. “As powerful as the Lord’s presence is, if there is any little sin in any life, there will be no healing” he said. Taking extensive tour through bible passages, he maintained that the one desires the healing virtue of Jesus Christ must be a passionate soul winner, drawing attention to John 15:1-10 and Mark 2:1-12. Adeboye then opined that until sins are dealt with and forsaken totally, you will not encounter that healing power of Jesus Christ. According to him, all those living holy lives cannot be bothered by the cries of a distressed economy. The General Superintendent of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Felix Meduoye reassured Nigerians that God has the capacity to turn the current economic recession around for the good of the nation and its citizens. Delivering one of the two sermons on Tuesday night, Rev Meduoye said the theme of the Congress, “Complete Restoration” is very appropriate and timely as God will cause divine restoration for Nigeria, saying “when you are restored, you will eat in plenty, even in time of famine and recession.” Speaking on the topic “Fullness

when God is the source of one’s joy, such joy will be continuous and endure forever. He emphasised that God is the source of joy and anyone desiring joy, must take three fundamental steps which include accepting Jesus Christ; of Joy”, Meduoye said that happiness is good but joy is complete and also it satisfies the soul. Joy is an important element in the kingdom of God and also essential in a man’s life. Describing God as the only source of true joy, the cleric stressed that
abiding in Him always and a consistent lifestyle of purity. Friday night, which was the climax of the 6-day congress, was particularly awesome. The crowd that thronged to the New Arena was massive and the viewing centres were
filled to capacity. The General Overseer, who spoke on the theme “Complete Restoration,” was at a point overwhelmed by the presence of the Holy Spirit. He explained that when God wants to begin the process of complete restoration, He remembers the forgotten and miracles begin to happen. When the miracle begins, there is victory without a fight. Prayers were made for the church, family, nation, youths and individuals. Several choral groups and music ministers like the Vine song, Evangelist J.A. Adelakun “Ayewa”, Ayan Jesu, Praise Team, Mass choir, Perfected Praise and so on dished out various songs to spice up the programme.

hen the General Overseer of the Mission, Pastor E. A. Adeboye announced during one of the Holy Ghost Services that the venues for 2016 Annual Holy Ghost Congress would be the old auditorium and the 3 by 3 km auditorium in Simawa, some people were excited while some wondered how convenient it would be for them. Talking with a few people about their experiences, they had this to say. I had a wonderful time in the

presence of God. It was difficult for me to get to the programme in Simawa because I don’t have a car. I trekked most of the way to and fro. It was not an easy experience but I thank God for the strength. Jeremiah Ojo For me it was a great experience to worship at the two venues. As a driver, I had a stressful time plying the Simawa route. I was stuck in traffic for hours and my boss had to alight to trek some distance before I met him on
the way. Sunday Olabode To be sincere, I did not go to the new arena in Simawa because of the traffic. I was not prepared to go and face the hectic traffic so I just stayed at the viewing centre in the old arena. Coupled with the fact that my children are young, I was not ready to take them through the stress as we do not have a car of our own. Mrs. Makinwa Sales were very poor because
of the shared venues. Most of the participants did not arrive on camp until; Friday because school was still in session. When they arrived they went straight to Simawa and did not come to the Old Auditorium until they were ready to leave for their homes. Having paid for the stall, I barely realised my money. But I just want to thank God that I am blessed and completely restored. That is more than enough for me. Mrs. Morayo Ajayi It was not a palatable experience as I had to trek most of the way back to the old auditorium to meet the people
The Holy Ghost Congress was not void of miracles, healings and deliverance. Souls were also won to God daily as mammoths of crowd trooped out. Sister Olayinka Mustapha who could not look straight because of severe pain in her eyes got her healing. A week before the congress began sister Joy Benjamin was having back pain that could not move her body. She managed to go to a viewing centre in Ajah. While watching, a pronouncement was made by the General Overseer that the sickness in someone’s body is gone. That night she received we came together. At a point I wanted to turn back but I was almost half way there. In all I thank God for all the blessings I received which I know are permanent. A/P Abel Omoniyi As a member of the T-Squad, I had the task of directing cars. It was not very easy moving all the demarcations from one location to the other. It was worth all in the end. The roads to Simawa are equally narrow and some motorists proved stubborn but to the glory of God no unpleasant incidents were recorded. Sis. Akinyemi Busayo
her healing. Deacon Chukwudi Paul interceded on behalf of his brother in UK who had had kidney problem. A word of prophecy came forth during the congress and his brother received his healing. Mrs. Chris Jane was feeling snake moving in her body since September 5 2016 which resulted in burning sensation in her waist but got her healing during one of the ministrations of Pastor Adeboye and she was delivered. Just as during other special programmes of the church, the number of children born was 39; 20 boys and 19 girls. Ministers of the gospel, traditional rulers, government officials and dignitaries from within and outside the country graced the event.

t the end of the 19th Annual Holy Ghost Congress, a total of 39 children; 20 boys and 19 girls were born at the Redemption Camp Maternity. The mothers who are full of joy to God on the arrival of the new addition to their families, could not hide their feelings of fulfilment. Speaking with Mrs. Ak-
inyede Igbagboyemi, a first time mother from Ogun Province 8 who gave birth to a baby boy around 7:30 am on Monday of the programme, thanked God for safe delivery after having five months delay. Mrs. Micah also from Ogun Province 8 appreciated God for His intervention in her deliv-

The dangerousness of grace: God’s free gift to humanity —BY LEKE ADEBOYE
I
t is a proven fact on earth that men tends to value what they payed for or what cost them something more than what they get free, they often time don’t feel a sense of commitment to whatever that comes them at no cost, no wonder if it crashes or crumbles they are less concerned. However Grace came to humanity as free gift against the nature of humans, grace came as an act of God’s freewill, goodwill, it is a product of God’s fulness and graciousness. John 1:16(Amp) say :For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift. Grace is supplied to mankind as an overflow of God’s nature. What is grace: Grace cannot be explained in terms of definition because it doesn’t actually have a definition, it can be explained by the Holyspirit moreover what we can explain are the attribute or expressions of grace. So therefore the real definition of grace is Christ John 1:17 AMP:For while the Law was given through Moses, grace (unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ. The only way to explain grace is to look at Jesus. None of us payed for Jesus death for us, none of us shed our blood for the remission of our sins, none us cried on the cross “my father my father why hath thou forsaken me”, none of us cried “ it is finished”, none us endured the cross and despised the shame, none us carried the sins of the whole world both death, living
20 | REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017
and those yet to be born on our head on the cross, none of became sin that sin might be taken off the earth, none of us became the lamb of God that was slain from the foundations of the world, none of us went into hell to fight for the keys of death. But we got all this free of charge, somebody suffered but we came to enjoy the dividend of his suffering, it was deposited into our account without us doing any work or pay any price. It is not of works so we cannot boast of anything. We received this grace by faith not by works Romans 4:4-5 KJV: Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even that faith of ours is not our own but also a gift Ephesians 2:8 AMP: For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through0 [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Therefore there is nothing we can actually lay claims as our contribution to the grace, it came free, we received it by faith which is also free. Nevertheless, this is why this grace of God is dangerous, because of the nature of man, they tends to place little or no value to free things so some have taken the grace of God granted, they abuse this privileged because it’s free saying we are under grace. But grace is never a licence to sin. It dangerous because when abus-
ing grace you might see no immediate physical repercussions. Under the law, it is instantaneous judgement, there is a punishment for every offence immediately but under grace we think there is judgement but may I announce to you the repercussions are far expensive and weigthier than that under the law, the repercussions are eternal and not ephemeral, the law gives you physical judgment but to fall out of grace is to have eternal damnation. Romans 1:1-2 KJV: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? KJV: God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? In conclusion, I title this the dangerousness of grace because the repercussions of falling from grace are not more of physical but spiritual, not ephemeral/ temporary but eternal. and there is a part to the danger of grace that means after so many times that GOD has forgiven you, your grace tank will hit empty and no one can refill it back not even the GO. at this stage you are gone. Note that it is possible to fall/fail from grace Hebrews 12:15 AMP: Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look [after one another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to secure God’s grace (His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancor, bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it— Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. God bless you. for The Kingdom

The Chemical Composition and wellbeing of the human body Macronutrients
T
he macronutrients, like the name implies are those ‘big’ nutrients that we eat on a daily basis that produce the energy that the body needs for its functions. Apart from energy production, these nutrients can be stored in the body or they play more structural roles in the body. For example, the muscles of the body play more of structural role in the body; so also are the bones. The smaller elements which make up the micronutrients (which we shall discuss in the future), act as co-factors in the reactions involving the macronutrients. In this role, the have control over the rate of these reactions and this confers such significance on them, that if they are absent or deficient, it can lead to one disease or the other. This is one major reason why I have decided to write on these macronutrients now and the micronutrients later. The emphasis for us human beings has tilted to more of the macro, than the micro and this has caused a lot of diseases in our bodies, unknown to us. Six elements, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus and calcium make up about 99% of the weight of the body. Another five elements make up 0.85% of the body. These elements are potassium, sodium, sulfur, chlorine and magnesium. 0.15% of the weight of the body is made up of trace elements. These are dietary minerals that are required in very minute quantities in their functions in the body. They function as co-factors in chemical reactions and assist in the physiological function of organs, muscles etc. Trace elements are also required in the physiological functions of the brain and nerves in the central nervous system. The composition of the human body can also be expressed by the molecules in it. For example, the following molecules can be said to be found in the body: water, carbohydrates such as glucose and the glycogen stores, protein, fats and oils etc. This being the case, these different molecules can be broken down into their elemental components. Water is made up of 2 atoms of hydrogen and a single atom of oxygen. CARBHYDRATES: A carbohydrate is a macromolecule of carbon (C), hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O). The hydrogen:oxygen ratio is 2:1 as in water and the basic chemical formula of carbohydrate is Cm(H2O)n. The letters m and n may not necessarily be the same but they represent one of the four different groups of carbohydrates. These groups are referred to as saccharides, a synonym of carbohydrate. The four groups are monosaccharide, disaccharides, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. Glucose, the most basic form of carbohydrates is a monosaccharide with the chemical formula
22 | REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017
C6H12O6. Smaller carbohydrates, monosaccharides and disaccharides are usually referred to as sugars and they commonly end with the prefix “-ose.” For example, we have glucose (grape sugar monosaccharide), sucrose (cane sugar disaccharide) and lactose (milk sugar disaccharide). PROTEINS: Amino acids are the organic compounds that combine together to form proteins. They are divided into three groups which include, 1. Essential amino acids These are referred to as essential because they cannot be produced in the human body; they have to be supplied from external sources. The essential amino acids are: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine. 2. Non essential amino acids These are produced in the body, even though they may not come through external sources. They include: alanine, asparagine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid. 3. Conditional amino acids Conditional amino acids may not be essential except in times of ill-health when such amino acids may be needed in higher quantities. In this group are such amino acids as arginine, cysteine, glutamine, tyrosine, glycine, ornithine, proline and serine. Chemical composition of amino acids Amino acids have a basic amino group (-NH2) and a carboxyl acid group (-COOH). Attached to this basic group is an organic R group that confers uniqueness to the amino acid. Carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen are the four key elements found in amino acids and after water, amino acids are the most abundant components of proteins found in muscles and
cells. They are combined together into peptide chains (polypeptides) which are the building blocks of proteins. Chemical composition of fats Fats in the body, otherwise known as triglycerides are compounds formed by three long chain fatty acids and an alcohol, glycerol. Glycerol is a triol which has three active hydroxyl (-OH) groups which will react with three long chain fatty acids to form triglycerides. Fats are generally hydrophobic; they are insoluble in water but soluble in certain other solvents. The shorter chain fatty acids are liquid at room temperature while the longer chain ones are solid. Because of these different qualities, it is common to refer to those that are liquid at room temperature as oils and the solid ones at room temperature as fat. However, they are all lipids. Fats partake in structural and metabolic functions in the body. When fats are broken down in the body, some fatty acids are released which are referred to as essential fatty acids. They are essential because they are not synthesized in the body and have to be supplied from the food we eat. The two most important essential fatty acids to human beings are omega 3 fatty acid (alpha-linolenic acid) and omega 6 (linoleic acid). The chemical formula of omega 3 fatty acid consists of 18 carbon chain and the double ester bond that renders the fatty acid unsaturated CH3CH2(CH=CHCH2)3(CH2)6COOH. So far, we have seen the three macronutrients, carbohydrates, proteins and fats. From what we have seen thus far, these macronutrients are molecules of the six common elements in the body. These are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, nitrogen and calcium. These elements and more make up the human body. There will be more on the oils and fats in the January edition of the Redemption Light.

et Somebody Shout Hallelujah is a yearly one week programme organized by Lagos Province 56, Maryland in catering for the less privilege in the society and to bring the message of the gospel to the lost souls. The 13th edition witness harvest of souls at the thanksgiving service held on November 27th, 2016 as the Governing Council Member, Pastor J.F Odesola ministered on the theme: Hallelujah Hosanna. Pastor Olalekan Julius, the Pastor-in-Charge of Region 12, Shagamu who represented Pastor Odesola at the event said the reason many are shouting Hallelujah and Hosanna is because the people know that Christ cometh to fulfil the Scriptures. According to him, when the King of Kings comes, there will be endless celebration, divine visitation will become the order of the day, laughter begins, the impossible becomes possible, the irreversible becomes reversible an end comes to every battle in one’s life. Pastor Olufemi Emmanuel, the Pastor-in-Charge of the Province, appreciated the Almighty God who has given man the ability to

Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not. (Jeremiah 33:3) The importance of prayer cannot be overemphasized in Christendom. Prayer is the greatest and most powerful force on earth. When you pray, there is always divine intervention and you can force a change. This means that your prayer life determines the height you can attain in life. You owe the duty of taking your prayer life very seriously to yourself, for it is the determining factor in your altitude in life. When someone speaks, you consider whether he has the character and wherewithal or capacity to do what he says he can do. If Bill Gates sends me a word that, “Pastor, I have been led to give you ten million dollars to enable you to buy a piece of land and build a church. The check would be ready for pick up tomorrow.” – My mind would be at peace because I would not doubt his capability, after all he is Bill Gates. But if an unknown person walks up to me and says that he wants to give me a million dollars, I would first try to figure him out because I don’t know him, neither have I heard of him. Therefore, I cannot ascertain his financial capabilities of being able to redeem such a pledge. As the scriptures say in Jeremiah chapter three verse thirty-three (3:33), God is speaking to you. God has integrity, and He says that you should “call unto Him and He will answer you.” Therefore, there is an assurance for the believer when you call upon Him. God went further to say that after you have called unto Him, He will show you great and mighty things that you knowest not, that will mesmerize, astonish and wow you. Certainly, there is power in prayers. But the question is, do you call on Him? Christians have the greatest power in the world, but most of the time, they fail to use it. A Christian brother had a seventeen-hour prayer encounter with the brethren somewhere. He was completely blown away by the experience. He confessed that he had never had such an experience of praying continuously to the Lord before. Also, in one of my training sessions with other pastors, we went into thirteen hours of prayers before the Lord. When was the last time you prayed for one hour? You must challenge yourself over your prayer life. Ye ask and receive not. Ye kill and desire to have and cannot obtain. Ye fight and war. Yet ye have not because ye ask not. 24 | REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017
The Place of Prayer and Fasting in the Journey to Greatness (James 4: 3) More often than not, people have challenges that require them to seek the face of God fervently in prayers until He shows up, instead of having a lackadaisical approach to the matter. A lady who suffered from epileptic feats, came to a regular church service where the power of prayer was taught. When she got home, she locked herself in and prayed fervently for hours, asking God for a touch of His healing power. She was tired of the shame this ailment brought upon her. As she meditated on the word (Jeremiah 33: 3) with prayers, the spirit of epilepsy left her at the seventh hour. God is good! The Bible says, “Ye have not because ye ask not.” One of the things every Christian must do in the journey to greatness is to be prepared to pray. Furthermore, you must fulfill all of the necessary conditions for answered prayers. One imperative condition is having a right standing with God. If you are desirous of your prayers being answered, you MUST clean yourself up. For you to approach God, for God to show you great and mighty things, you must be clothed in absolute righteousness. God heareth not sinners, but anyone who is a worshiper of God and doeth His will, him He heareth. (John 9: 31) Who shall ascend unto the hill of the Lord? Who shall stand in His holy place? He that had clean hands and a pure heart. Who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity or sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing of greatness for the Lord, and righteousness from the God
of his salvation. (Psalm 24:3-5) Years back, when I had just finished college, I was privileged to serve in the church as a Bible College teacher for nine years. At this time, The Redeemed Christian Church of God had not become a household name, and was considerably very small size. I remember one year when Pastor E.A. Adeboye and his wife fasted for one hundred and twenty days and I, a spiritual babe at that time, was concerned for them not to get hurt. The rest is history. As of today, the church (RCCG) has expanded to over one hundred and seventy nations of the world. God is faithful! In one of my mission trips to India, I had a stopover in Kuwait to observe what the brethren were doing. It was pleasing to know that even in Kuwait, RCCG has two churches. This is a testimony to the potency in the power of prayers. For someone and his wife to stay in a small sized camp and cry out to the Lord in prayers concerning the greatness of His church, and God answered them, the same God is your God and He will answer all your prayers in Jesus name. There isn’t anything you are going through today that God cannot take care of, if only you give yourself to prayer. I am talking about the type of prayers that goes on for days: praying for six hours each day, seeking the face of the Lord with all your might while surrendering everything at His feet. I have been engaged in this mode of prayer before and I know of a truth, God always shows up, and He will show up for you too.
On 27 Dec, 2016 Ayoola Emmanuel Obayemi, son of Pastor & Pastor (Mrs.) J. O. Obayemi, Assistant General Overseer in charge of Finance, got married to Adeola Doyinsola at House of Favour Parish, Ogun Province 4 Headquarters.

According to him, the children of God cried out for deliverance, for assistance, for mercy, for help, for freedom, for liberation, for independence, because they were tired of the lordship of these evil powers over their lives. During the 3day programme, the contest of superiority was won by the Almighty God as lost souls flooded the venue and the forgotten was remembered. Senior Pastors, ministers and well wishers were at the grand finale to thank the Almighty God.

to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” Psalm 143:8
Question In addition to our regular spiritual exercises like prayer and fasting, how else can I prepare my members for success in 2017? Answer Thank you for this very timely question. I like the fact that you used “in addition to” because there are some preachers who have neglected our first works and have become experts at psychology and motivation messages. Our power lies in the gospel proclaimed and CHRIST glorified. One of the errors of the Fathers of the Pentecostal movement in these parts was the belief that working by faith meant doing nothing more than just pray-er, fasting and bible study. The key is maintaining a healthy balance between our spiritual exercises and the need to apply ourselves by using our intellect in dealing with the issues of life. One of the key areas where this balance is most needed is in the area of plan-ning. There are many scriptures that point to the efficacy of planning and for the fact that God Himself is a Planner, should also encourage us to plan. Some of this bible passages include; “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3 “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” Psalm 20:4 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans

Won’t you first sit down and esti-mate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?” Luke 14:28 In its most basic format, what you want to do is to 1. Help your people fully realise where they are right now; a true assessment of their present state of affairs, 2. Determine where they would like to be, do or have at certain time in the fu-ture. 3. Explore the various ways to achieve their stated goals 4. Choose one path and follow it through. As you can imagine, there are various approaches out there, but I would like to share one of the more easy to use models. This model is called GROW GROW stands for: Goal Current Reality Options (or Obstacles) Will (or Way Forward) A good way of thinking about the GROW Model is to think about how you’d plan a journey. First, you decide where you are going (the goal), and establish where you currently are (your current reality). You will then explore various routes (the options) to your destination. In the final step, in establishing the will, you ensure that you’re committed to making the journey, and are prepared for the obstacles that you could meet on the way. Preventing lifestyle diseases: Artherosclerosis Introduction
The heart is the most important organ of the human body that is responsible for pumping blood round the entire body through an extensive, intertwined network of arteries, veins and capillaries. When fat plaques and cholesterol are deposited within the arteries, the lumen or cavity becomes narrowed thereby reducing the flow of blood, a condition known as Artherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis can lead to serious problems, including heart attack, stroke, or even death. One major concern is that recent studies show that an increasing number of children and youth are at risk for atherosclerosis and this has been attributed to a number of causes, including rising rates of childhood obesity.
Diagram showing a normal artery (above) and an artery narrowed by deposits of plaque (below) Risk Factors Incidentally, most of the risk factors for atherosclerosis can be controlled. The major risk factors are: • Unhealthy blood cholesterol levels: This includes high LDL cholesterol (otherwise known as “bad” cholesterol) and low HDL cholesterol (called “good” cholesterol) • High blood pressure: Blood pressure is considered high if it stays at or above 140/90 mmHg over time. For a person with diabetes or chronic kidney disease, high blood pressure is defined as 130/80 mmHg or higher • Smoking: Smoking can damage and tighten blood vessels, raise cholesterol levels, and blood pressure. Smoking also does not allow enough oxygen to reach the body’s tissues • Insulin resistance /Diabetes: This condition occurs if the body cannot use its insulin properly • Overweight or obesity: These refer to body weight that is greater than what is considered healthy for a person’s height.
• Lack of physical activity: A lack of physical activity can worsen other risk factors for atherosclerosis such as unhealthy blood cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, diabetes, and overweight and obesity. • Unhealthy diet: Foods that are high in saturated and Transfats, cholesterol, sodium (salt), and sugar can worsen other atherosclerosis risk factors. • Aging: With increasing age, genetic or lifestyle factors cause plaque to build up in the arteries and by the time a person is middle-aged or older, enough plaque has built up to cause signs or symptoms. In men, the risk increases after age 45 and in women, the risk increases after age 55. • Family history of early heart disease: A person’s risk for atherosclerosis increases if the father or a brother was diagnosed with heart disease before 55 years of age, or if the mother or a sister was diagnosed with heart disease before 65 years of age. Since a person generally does not have control over aging and family history, controlling other risk factors often can lessen their influence and prevent atherosclerosis, even in older adults. • Stress: Studies show that the most commonly reported “trigger” for a heart attack is an emotionally upsetting event, especially stress involving anger. • Alcohol: Heavy drinking can damage the heart muscle and worsen other risk factors for atherosclerosis Symptoms of Artherosclerosis Common symptoms include: • Chest pain or Angina (chest pain that radiates down the arms and up into the jaws) • Pain in the leg, arm, and anywhere else where the artery is blocked • Shortness of breath Continued on pg. 39

Salting your source
1. PARENTAL/ANCESTRAL SOURCE There is a very powerful link between a parent and a child. A cursed or afflicted parental or ancestral foundation may be responsible for a child’s trouble. The disciples asked Jesus about the man that was born blind, they wanted to know what was responsible for the man’s predicament, whether it is the sin of the child or the parents’. Jhn 9:2, Exo 20:5-6. I pray for you, every problem/bitterness in your life that comes as a result of your parental or family source shall receive the salt of the Holy Spirit today in Jesus Name. 2
CHILDHOOD SOURCE What you did or what they did for you or how you grew up, the kind of training that you received, when you were young go a long way in affecting your life either positively or negatively. Prov. 22:6. Some people were dedicated, initiated or covenanted with the devil, some were taken to the river or shrine when they were young. All these may have registered evil covenant or curses of bitterness, barrenness and worthlessness in such people’s lives. Every strange covenant and curses which have been registered into your life from childhood is neutralized by the blood of Jesus in Jesus Name.
3
TERRITORIAL SOURCE Where you were born, where you grew up or where you are living may be a satanic territory or demonic house that is carrying a curse. You need the power of the Holy Ghost to destroy that yoke. Moses grew up in a cruel and bitter environment and before he knew it, he became a murderer.
4
MARITAL SOURCE Marriage is a covenant relationship approved by the Almighty God Gen. 2:24. However it has to be holy. Heb.13:4. Apostle Paul said we should not be unequally yoked with the unbelievers.2Cor.6:14. How you were joined, where you were joined or who joined you or who you were joined with matter a lot. May the Lord add salt to your marriage again in Jesus Name.
5
WEALTH SOURCE The bible says “the love of money is the root of all evil. 1Tim6:10. The elders say, the foundation (source) of wealth is messy. How you acquired your wealth or how your parents acquired the wealth to train you matters a lot. Some people used blood money to train their children or acquired wealth and when those children those things begin to have problems, it might be that the blood is crying for vengeance. May the Lord locate the source of your wealth today with mercy in Jesus Name.
6
NAME SOURCE The origin and meaning of your name may have a spiritual and physical impact in you life. When Jacob was praying for breakthrough, before he could get his deliverance the angel of the Lord asked him what is your name, meaning the source of his trouble was his name. Gen 32:26. Other examples include;
TEXT: 2KINGS 2:19-22 INTRODUCTION
To salt means to add salt to something, to preserve with salt or to make sweet. Salt is a crystalline compound (Sodium Chloride) occurring as a mineral which is used for seasoning food or as preservatives. It is a substance obtained from mine or evaporation of sea water. Salt symbolizes sweetness, goodness, flavor, blessing and preservation. Salt is so symbolic that our Lord Jesus Christ referred to His disciples as the salt of the earth. Matt 5:13. It also represents grace and peace. Jesus counseled His disciples that by having salt in their lives they would have peace. Mk.9:50B. Apostle Paul said “let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man”. Col.4:6. In the bible passage quoted above as text, it is written, “And the men of the city said unto Elisha, behold I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant as my lord seeth but the water is naught and the ground is barren and he said bring me a new cruse and put salt therein and they brought it to him and he went forth into the spring of the waters and cast the salt in there and said thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.” 2Kings 2:19-21 Spring in this case means, the source, origin, beginning, root or foundation of something. In other words, Elisha salted the source of the worthless water at Jericho to remove the curse of bitterness, death, barrenness and worthlessness. In the same manner, the source (spring) of your life could be salted with the power of the Holy Spirit to remove the curse of barrenness, bitterness, failure, worthlessness e.t.c. Water here stands for life; no life can survive without water. Jesus Christ is referred to as the “Living Water”. Jn 4:10.Some people’s sources (foundation) have been battered, cursed or shattered that it would take the power of the Holy Spirit to restore. The bible says, if the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do (Ps 11:3), the righteous can call on God, the Architect of that foundation. I believe as you call on your Maker today, the source of your life will receive the touch of divine salt and it will be sweet and be flavored again. There are different kinds of sources in a man’s life that need to be divinely salted.

• Fatigue • Confusion, which occurs if the blockage affects circulation to the brain. • Muscle weakness in the legs from lack of circulation. Preventing Artherosclerosis One key to minimizing the risk for artherosclerosis is to adopt a healthy lifestyle because reducing the lifestyle risk factors will slow or stop the process. These modifiable lifestyle factors include: Heart-Healthy Eating Heart-friendly eating habits include eating different fruits and vegetables (including beans and peas), whole grains, lean meats, poultry without skin, seafood, and fat-free or low-fat milk and dairy products. A heart-healthy diet is low in sodium or salt, added sugar, solid fats, and refined grains. Following a heart-healthy diet is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Physical Activity It is important to be as physically active as possible because physical activity can improve a person’s fitness level and health. Brisk walking for 30 minutes, three times a week is a good starting
point. However, it is necessary to be under the supervision of a health care provider if more strenuous activities will be engaged in. Exercise helps prevent atherosclerosis in many ways; it keeps the arteries healthy by lowering bad cholesterol and boosting good cholesterol. It also reduces other risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and stress. Quit Smoking/Alcohol Intake It is very necessary to quit smoking if you do smoke and try to avoid secondhand smoke. Weight Control It is also important to work towards the ideal weight for your height through appropriate diet control and physical activity. If overweight or obese, medical supervision is needed to create a reasonable weight-loss plan. Weight control helps control the risk factors for atherosclerosis. Stress Control Adequate periods of rest and relaxation are important to minimize stress and its effects. Artherosclerosis can also be treated with medication in addition to lifestyle changes which could cause plaques to slow or stop growing.

Two are better than one Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.
Introduction
In Genesis 2:18 God declared it is not good that man be alone. In God’s infinite wisdom, He created man, not as a loner or an island but as a social entity whose rewards increase multiple fold when in partnership with others. Man alone according to this passage will achieve limited productivity and fruitfulness. The chances of success and survival of a man alone would be very limited. It is for this reason that God said in the Bible that two are better than one. It is also for this reason that God instituted marriage in Genesis 2:21-25. A married couple is better than the single individual and marriage when operated appropriately yields much better results than each spouse could have produced on their own. One may ask the question - why is it that two are better than one? What special reward does two offer over one? Let us examine five rewards below. 1. Support & strength in case of a fall - Ecclesiastes 4:10 “For if they fall, one will lift his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” 1 Corinthians 10:12 Anyone who has another person watching his or 42 | REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017
her back is in much less danger of a fall than someone strolling alone. The devil approached Eve in the garden (Genesis 3:1) at her weakest point when she was alone and away from Adam’s view. In a marital relationship, each spouse should gain this reward when the stronger watches out for the weaker rather than criticizing. This reward also comes when both spouses complement and support each other rather than competing. We can see such reward for Abigail’s family as she moved to rescue her family from the consequence of her husband’s bad behaviour (1 Samuel 25:18-23). If a husband makes a wrong judgement, the fie should not stand aloof. She should step in and solve the problem without making the man look bad in the public. Husbands should also not act like Adam to join the wife in eating the forbidden apple because the wife offers it. For the sake of the family, the husband should act as the man man and stand up to the wife reminding that God does not permit the act. This action to confront or remind can save the two spouses from falling. Ananias and Saphirra on the other hand jointly agreed to disobey God’s laws and they paid very dearly for this action. 2. Companionship & warmth - Ecclesiastes 4:11 “Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone?” When by marriage, spouses have become two, there is an end to loneliness as each spouse becomes a companion to the other. Warmth is produced not only physically through touch but it is produced emotionally through acceptance of each other and regular communication and
communion with each other as they dwell together with understanding (1 Peter 3:7). To gain the reward of companionship and warmth, married couples should give adequate quality time to be with each other and know yourselves the more. Newly married men were not allowed to go to war in Israel for 12months after getting married. It is to keep his wife warm and to be a companion. Couples should aspire to be like Isaac and Rebekah who in Genesis 26:8 were still sporting in their old age. They made a habit of playing with each other and staying together from youth. 3. Stronger Defense against enemy attack - Ecclesiastes 4:12 “And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” A married person is supposed to be better protected from enemy attack than the one that is alone. This reward comes to play when the two spouses exercise jointly their authority in Christ as documented in Matthew 18:19 “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” Married couples lose this reward when they don’t pray together to exercise this right. Furthermore, if the couple regularly fellowship with the Holy Spirit, they will find so much strength that the enemy will never be able to separate them. This is because the third man in the three-fold in the Holy Spirit and that is why this chord is not easily broken. If couples make God the Centre of their relationship, then God can fight their battles. Pray together and pray for one another daily. Joshua 23:10 “One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.” 4. Procreation and multiplication - Another reward of two is procreation and multiplication. In Genesis 1:28 “And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” This commandment and blessing cannot come to fruition unless one becomes two in marriage. Psalms 128:3 “Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.” Psalm 128:3. Without a woman, no man can multiply himself. You need two to fulfill the command to multiply and to manifest the blessings of fruitfulness. Part
of the reward of two in marriage is the making of babies. God is very happy to fulfill the blessing of fruitfulness and coulee also play their part. How will you play your part? 1 Corinthians 7:2 advices couples: “But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.” Babies cannot come unless couples fish for them. Peter fished all night and Jesus’ supported his effort by directing where to cast the net. Isaac entreated God for Rebekah. Genesis 25:21 “And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.” As husbands engage with their wives in the physical act of making babies, they must also take full responsibility as Priests of their families by asking God to crown their efforts with success. If husbands would lay hands on the wombs of their wives, God would honour their faith as God answered Isaac. Men are encouraged not to be like Jacob who refused to take responsibility when Rachel asked her for a son. 5. Greater reward for their efforts (synergy) - Ecclesiastes 4:9 - “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.” This reward of synergy comes when the married couple chooses to share all things. When as a couple you consolidate your resources, it yields much greater result. In the family, you can determine whose personality suits that of a treasurer and assign to keeping of your money to this spouse. You can choose to have a joint account for family expenses and projects whilst having individual accounts for personal expenses as you are still individuals. If you work together as one, your reward will be much greater financially, spiritually, career wise and in other dimensions. What Destroys The Power Of Two? In Genesis 11:6-8, we witness the strategy that robbed man of the reward that accrues to two better than one. “And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.” The enemy often copies this two-pronged potent weapon and uses it to
destroy homes and families. Please guard your home and family against them. 1. Confused language - mistaking one thing for another leading to misunderstanding, misconception and misinterpretation. Many homes are not strong today and they are not reaping the rewards of two because each spouse misunderstands the other, they misconceive the thoughts and motives of the other spouse and there is a general breakdown of harmony in the home. God has given us some antidotes for this trick in the Bible. The first is transparency. If the spouses are transparent and trusting, there will be no confusion. Genesis 2:25 “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” The second antidote is to devote adequate time to get to know each other. 1 Peter 3:7 “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.” The third antidote is communication. When there is quality communication between two parties, confusion can easily be aborted. Hebrews 13:16 “But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” 2. Scattering - this refers to moving away from each other thus leaving good room for the enemy to sneak in. When spouses don’t communicate much, or live in separate locations or sleep in separate rooms or start keeping malice, they are scattering and leaving room for the enemy to sneak in. Some antidotes for this trick is sticking together, no matter the reasons. Eating together, praying together and going out together. The couple should find time to be together daily and periodically. Romans 12:10 “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;” Abraham and Sarah; Isaac and Rebekah were generally together doing things together. They survived as couples in spite of their challenges. Conclusion The rewards of “two are better than one” is still available for every couple, every family and every relationship of more than one person. As we team up with members of our family in one accord and embrace the person of the Holy Spirit through our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord will deposit these and many more rewards in the matchless name of Jesus. Shalom!

MOUTH SOURCE The mouth of a person can make or mar the life and destiny of that person. What you say,eat or drink can have either negative or positive impact in your life. The mouths of some 42 children suddenly truncated their destinies. 2Kings 2:2324. What trouble have you brought into your life through your mouth, you need the Holy Spirit to add salt to your life. You can as well pray the prayer of the Psalmist; set a watch o Lord before my mouth; keep the door of my lips Ps 141:3.
HOW TO SALT YOUR SOURCE As the power of the anointing changed (salted) the situation in Jericho, the power of the Holy Spirit can change your own situation too, if you can take the following steps. • Be born again. Jn.3:3, 1:12, 15:15. • Live a life of holiness and obedience to God. Isa. 1:19, Isa. 3:10 • With fasting and prayers, renounce and break every evil covenant and curses in the foundation of your life. Mk. 9:29 • Have strong faith in the Lord. Mk. 11:22-24 • Be faithful in the payment of your tithes and offerings. Mal. 3:10-11, Luk. 6:38 • Attend powerful programs like Holy Ghost Service, where a higher anointing can locate the problematic source in your life and destroy the yokes. CONCLUSION A life without Jesus is a worthless, salt-less, barren and bitter life. Jesus is the salt of God that makes lives sweet and meaningful. Accept Him into your life today and He will put an end to sudden death, barrenness and bitterness in your life. REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017 | 43
Beware of satan’s ploy to counterfeit the holy spirit gifts Text: 2 Thessalonians 2: 7-15
—BY PASTOR B. C. MATANMI
T
he Bible records diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. The manifestation of Holy Spirit Gifts is given to every man to profit thereby and No man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit, nine in all, include: The Word of Wisdom; The Word of Knowledge; The Gift of Faith; The Gifts of Healing; The Working of Miracles; The Gift of Prophecy; The Discerning of Spirits; Diverse Kinds of Tongues; and The Interpretation of Tongues (1 Corinthians 12:1-11). It is so comforting to us True Believers (the Body of Christ), as we are taught, that the Gifts of the Spirit, a.k.a. The Weapons of Our Warfare, when properly deployed, can destroy any evil force that the devil might use against the Body of Christ. Also, the Gifts of the Spirit can be tremendously effectual as they function in our lives; moreover, each of us is a candidate for any or all of the nine gifts! The Bible enjoins us in 1 Peter 4: 10, “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another”. Thus it is given to us by God, and He expects us to share it by witnessing at every opportunity. As able Ministers, the Word of God in 2 Corinthians 3:6 commands us to Give Life, i.e. minister the Truth of the New Covenant, not of the letter, but of the spirit that giveth Life, to all the souls we come in contact with. THE BELIEVER’S CALLING: The Bible tells us in Romans 8:28-30 that all things work together for good to those who love God, and are called by God according to His purpose. He had foreknowledge of them, and predestined them to be conformed in the Image of Jesus, that Jesus might be the First-born among many brethren. Moreover, those He predestined, He also called, and those He called, He justified, and those he justified, He also glorified. In 1 Peter 2:9, we are told, that after the New Birth, we become a Chosen Generation, a Royal Priesthood, and a Peculiar People, commanded to show forth

the Praises of Him who has called us out of Darkness into His marvellous Light, as in Isaiah 9:2; Acts 26:18. BEWARE OF THE PLOYS OF SATAN: Satan a.k.a. Lucifer, the Evil One, the Adversary, the Devil, the Prince of Darkness, Demon, etc, is decidedly evil. Demons, Evil Spirits, are known to be so evil (Luke 10: 17-18), and to be under Satan (Matthew 12: 24-30). The Bible tells us that Demons are capable of instigating Deceits (1 Timothy 4:1), and to possess human beings (Matthew 8:29). More importantly, he is known to represent the opposite of anything Saintly, and known to be fake; sort of make-believe, fraudulent, wicked, fiendish, and a Counterfeit, defined as “a spurious imitation of the real thing or the original”. The term “Counterfeit” is applicable to Persons e.g. The Antichrist (Revelation 19:20); False Prophets (John 4:1); Fake Christians (Galatians 2:3-4); Fake Ministers (2 Corinthians 11:14-15), etc, or to Such Things as: Fake Miracles (2 Thessalonians 2: 7-15); False Religions (James 1:26); False Doctrines (Hebrews 13:9); Fake Worship (Matthew 15:8-9), even Fake Prayers as in James 4:3. Pastor E. A. Adeboye, General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, teaches us adherents to Beware of Deceivers (2 Timothy 3:1-8; Romans 16: 17-20) [Open Heavens Devotional, Volume 16, 2016, February 19 & 20. Open Heavens Media Limited, Web: www.ohic.org ]. Satan is a Deceiver known to appear sometimes as “an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14) – a counterfeit angel. SOME EXAMPLES OF SATAN’S COUNTERFEITING: We are enjoined to Guard against the Spiritual problem of counterfeiting supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit by Satan (Readers are referred to The Open Heavens Devotional, and also Lester Sumrall’s The Gifts and Ministries of the Holy Spirit, Updated
Edition, Whitaker House. New Kensington, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. 268pp). FALSE PROPHETS, MEDIUMS, SOOTHSAYERS, WITCH DOCTORS, PALM READERS, et cetera. The Gift of the Word of Wisdom confers the ability to hear from the Holy Spirit, walk by faith, and thereby know and understand future events. People who choose to consult Soothsayers, Prophets, Tricksters etc. so as to know the future, allow themselves to be fooled. Eve was deceived by Satan; Jezebel indulged in witchcraft; and Saul consulted a Medium (Genesis 3:1-24; 2 Kings 9:22; 1 Samuel 28:7-25). We are taught to allow only God Almighty to Hold our Future, and not permit the likes of False Prophets to mislead us about future events, for their prophecies are of Satan and hence never fulfilled. Whereas the Word of Wisdom concerns the future, the Word of Knowledge deals with the “Now”, and that which cannot be learnt through the Intellect but only by revelation of the Holy Spirit. What the devil does often is to try and rob people of the use of their Spiritual Gifts, trick and deceive people, and lead them into a Trap, as in Genesis 3:1-24). The practice of Sorcery was actually forbidden in Israel (Deuteronomy 18:9-14); the Bible also enjoins us to Guard against Evil Thoughts (James 2:4). Other Gifts counterfeited include: Discerning of Spirits by Mind Readers; The Gift of Faith and the Gift of Healing, counterfeited by Magicians and Witch Doctors through which Incantations and Curses etc. come about; Spirit of the Antichrist which operates by Deception etc. (Exodus 7: 1-12; Acts 13: 6-12; Revelation 13: 1-16). The Pouring out of the Holy Spirit upon all flesh; Praying without Ceasing; Standing in the Truth and Power, and enablement granted us to invade the devil’s territory, destroy him including his machinations completely, appear to be the way out of all these predicaments that beset us! LORD, HAVE MERCY.

New Song @ RCCG Banner of Love
ecently, worshippers at the RCCG Banner of Love Zone were full of new songs at the December 2016 anointing service held in Ayetoro Gbede in Kogi Province 4. The anointing service which was characterized by combination of song ministration, deliverance, breakthrough and miracles witness various mighty testimonies. Speaking on New Song, the theme of the anointing service, Pastor Elijah Joel said God gave the Israelites new song through Moses after they successfully crossed the red sea and God allowed their enemies to perished in the red sea ( Exodus15:11). According to him, the Israelites collectively sang a new song and
rejoiced together by singing, ‘‘who is like unto thee, O lord, among the Gods? Who is like unto thee, glorious in Holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?’’ He reiterated God’s desire to give all the worshippers new songs after they have been completely restored by God. He charged them to eliminate doubt for God’s miracles to manifest in their lives. He also used the anointed handkerchief and anointed oil blessed by Daddy G.O to anoint members and assured them of divine protection throughout the year and beyond.

Networking
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls; for he hath not another to help him up- Eccl.4:910 Try to maintain an active presence in relevant circles whether you are attending ministers’ meeting, events, exhibitions, conferences, forums, and courses or even socializing with peers in the field in a format you find comfortable and conducive for constructive exchange. You can network with like-minded men of God or those that are above you spiritually. You will make good friendships, remain top-of-mind in the right groups and pick up valuable fresh spiritual pointers and insights, which should serve you well in your own role.
Requirements for achieving kingdom relevance (4)
There is enormous power in networking. No man is an island. No man is a compendium of knowledge. Two good heads are better than one. If you see a snake on the way crawling towards you, it will be easy for you to kill. Imagine walking on the pathway and twenty snakes, by virtue of network, on the way towards you. What would you do? Kill them one after the other or take to your heels. You have the answer. Ten candles will shine better than two. Five batteries will give a brighter illumination than one. This is the power of network. Open up and get connected to people! Don’t let your position, title or status in church or organization imprison you. No man can survive in isolation. There are things you may never know for ever without networking. There are heights you may never reach, opportunities you may never have and goals you may never achieve without networking. Moses spent forty days with God in the mount. He came down blazing in the glory of God. He had the position, power and status but it took Jethro to teach him the invaluable power of networking. He networked and made his job much easier. Everyone who comes across your life has something to offer you. Everyone including your driver, cook, gardener, house helps, dry cleaners etc. 1. Put your priorities in perspective If you want to remain relevant in life, put your priority in perspective. If you keep first things first, other things will take care of themselves. Kingdom relevant people follow kingdom priorities. It is keeping first things first that makes a leader
ahead of his followers. i.
The first priority is personal relationship with God. ii. The second priority is your family responsibility. iii. The third priority is your God given assignment. Isaac arranged his relationship with God, family and work in its proper perspective. In Genesis 26:25, we see a clear arrangement in order of priority. ‘And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac’s servants digged a well’ 1. Isaac built an altar to the Lord. This speaks of his personal relationship with God. 2. He pitched his tent. This speaks about his family. 3. And his servants dug a well. This is about his business. This is the order: God, Family and Work. The reverse is the case with most people in our ever busy world. Work is topmost in the agenda of an average believer. People give minimal attention to family, maximal attention to work and lukewarm attention to God. Whereas you are required to give maximal attention to your work, you are required not to give less to God and family. You can give proper attention to God, your children and your work! This is what makes a successful person. You can pay Peter without robbing Paul. You can keep the equilibrium! REDEMPTION LIGHT January, 2017 | 47

Supersonic Travel
H
ave you ever heard of supersonic travel? It is a rate of travel of an object that exceeds the speed of sound (Mach 1). Can you imagine travelling faster than the speed of sound…. in real life…not science fiction? Well, that happened (and still happens with some military aircrafts), but did you know it used happen on a commercial level.
Introducing the Concorde aircraft-
This was the only commercial aircraft to achieve supersonic flight; it could fly from London to New York in only 3 hours, 30 minutes at a speed of Mach 2.5. There were several versions built over a period of time, the very first however, was the F-WTSS (production designation 001) it was the first Concorde to fly and the historic flight took place on the 2nd of March 1969 (47 years ago). In total, only 20 Concordes were ever built, of which 14 entered airline service. At that time, it was the height of luxury aviation.
Why the Concorde was scrapped-
On 10 April 2003, Air France and British Airways simultaneously announced that they would retire Concorde later that year. They cited low passenger numbers following the 25 July 2000 crash, the slump in air travel following the 11 September attacks and rising maintenance costs. For those of us who never got the opportunity to see one in action, at the entrance of London Heathrow Airport, there is one on display…and there are several on display in different museums, some of which are as follows: • The Museum of Air and Space, Le Bourget, France • Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton, England, UK • Imperial War Museum, DUxford, England, UK • Sinsheim Auto & Technik Museum, Germany
Airlines with Concorde Airplanes-
There were only a few airlines that included the Concorde in its fleet• Air France • British Airways • Braniff International Airways (1 on short term lease) • Singapore Airlines (1 on short term lease) I wonder what commercial travel would be like now, had the Concorde not been decommissioned, they were actually planning on building the Concorde 2.0, which would have been able to travel from London to New York in only 1 hour….imagine that!
