Summer fun at Renfrew-Collingwood’s own Greek Festival June 26 to July 6 Boundary and East 29th Warm summer nights are perfect for a stroll down to Boundary and East 29th Avenue for the annual Greek Summer Fest. The Greek Summer Fest started as a oneday event back in 1985. Since then it has grown into a 10-day festival celebrating Greek food, Greek music and Greek culture. The main stage is a showcase of Greek dance and music talent, and hosts a variety of cultural dance groups. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the evening finishes off with traditional Greek bouzouki music. Everyone who attends is encouraged to join in and dance! The festival menu includes delectable traditional Greek dinners such as the famous BBQ lamb with Greek salad, rice, tzatziki and bread, chicken souvlaki and spanakopita (vegetarian spinach pie) as well as desserts like the must-try loukoumades (Greek donuts dipped in honey and sesame seeds) and baklava.
