Festival lands on Rainiest Day of the Year

The weather report said that twice as much rain fell between midnight and noon on Saturday, May 28th than the previous three months combined! Unfortunately for Collingwood Days 2016, that just happened to be the day of the festival. If you recall, it was easily the worst downpour since the beginning of the year and beyond. The show did go on. People set up; the bouncy castle was bouncing; the dog show was showing; bravely, the musicians took to the waterlogged stage. Reminscent of the Titanic, they continued to play as the Collingwood Days ship sank into the puddles. The rain was just too much. Coming in from every direction, even those with umbrellas were getting soaked. Two hours after it began, the plug was pulled and for the first time in 13 years, the Collingwood Days Festival was officially rained out.
