At the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), our vision is ‘developing healthcare leaders who make a difference worldwide’. RCSI welcomes students from all over the world to our headquarter campus in Dublin, with 80% of our student body originating from overseas. We also actively invest in campuses around the globe. Currently RCSI operates on four international campuses, including our wholly-owned facility in RCSI Bahrain, a jointly-owned facility in Penang Malaysia with our partner University College Dublin, an undergraduate medical programme delivered at Perdana University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the RCSI Institute of Leadership in Dubai.

RCSI's main campus is situated on St Stephen's Green in Dublin. Founded in 1784 to train surgeons, today the College provides extensive education and training in the healthcare professions at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The Faculty of Medicine

In 2004, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) was established to provide undergraduate courses in Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery and postgraduate studies including research degrees and taught masters programmes in Nursing and Healthcare Leadership. The RCSI Bahrain Campus was officially opened in February 2009 by former President of Ireland HE

Mary McAleese and HRH Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of Bahrain. This prestigious event welcomed international dignitaries and marked the culmination of RCSI’s investment to deliver high quality healthcare education in the Middle East. The campus is located in Busaiteen, Muharraq adjacent to King Hamad University Hospital.

In pursuit of its mission, ‘advancing healthcare leadership, making a difference worldwide’, RCSI’s Institute of Leadership provides postgraduate training and education in healthcare management and leadership. Established in 2005 in the prestigious Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Centre in Dubai Healthcare City, RCSI Dubai offers MSc degree programmes in Healthcare Management, Quality & Patient Safety in Healthcare

Management, and Leadership in Health Professions’ Education. These programmes have proved to be very popular, not only in the UAE, but also in the wider region and the Institute is now the leading provider of leadership and management development for health professionals. Established in 2011, RCSI, through its partnership with Perdana University (PU), Kuala Lumpur, licenses and delivers its five year Undergraduate Medical Programme, as part of the Academic Medical Centre for Excellence. The programme is

fully accredited by both the Irish and Malaysian Medical Councils. It is delivered by a team of RCSI specialist academic leads, who liaise closely with RCSI Dublin to deliver the same curriculum, resulting in identical qualifications for graduates.

PENANG MEDICAL COLLEGE, MALAYSIA

Penang Medical College (PMC) was established by RCSI and University College Dublin (UCD) with representatives of the state and private sector in Penang. The College opened in October 1996 for its first intake of students. Students spend their pre-clinical

years in either RCSI or UCD in Dublin, Ireland, before returning to Penang to complete their clinical studies. The qualification and entitlements are identical for students who complete either the twinning or traditional medical programme.
