ABOUT RCTC Founded in 1915 on a motion by Dr. Charles Mayo (co-founder of the world-renowned Mayo Clinic) to the Rochester School Board, RCTC is Minnesota’s oldest, public, twoyear college, and one of the nation’s first community colleges.

Aviation pilot, nursing, health information technology, cardiovascular invasive specialist, cancer registry management, clinical neurophysiology technology, radiography, MRI, dental hygiene, histology technician, intensive care paramedic, surgical technology, veterinary technology, mass communication, and many more.
INTERCOLLEGIATE SPORTS
Nationally renowned NJCAA Division III varsity athletics are in play at RCTC which include men’s baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling; and women’s basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball.

HAVE QUESTIONS? WE CAN HELP! The Welcome and One Stop Center, located conveniently inside our Main Campus Atrium entrance, gives you one place to get all your questions answered. The Center can assist you in completing your applications for admission and/or financial aid, receiving assistance with orientation and registration information, changing majors, updating addresses, and with scheduling an academic advisor appointment. The Welcome and One Stop Center staff can also collect any paperwork to maintain enrollment.
Nearly 400 full-time and part-time faculty members provide a meaningful, hands-on learning environment. RCTC’s faculty not only hold outstanding academic credentials, but they also bring real-world experiences to assist you in career preparation. With faculty input, RCTC has been able to offer state-ofthe art technology in our smart classrooms, simulation training facilities, and collaborations with local employers, including IBM and Mayo Clinic. These partnerships and technology can provide you with instant access to worldwide resources and experts.
Campus support services and resources are available to every student, regardless of how many classes you’re taking. These include Academic Advising, Disability Support Services, Technology Support, Learning Center, Hive Supply (food/supply pantry), and Student Health Services.

ACADEMIC PATHWAYS AND PROGRAMS RCTC offers over 70 programs and more than 1,200 courses giving you plenty of academic options to choose from. The College’s ten academic pathways provide you the flexibility to pivot to similar programs of study — which saves you time and money, while learning the skills you need to meet your goals. If you’re looking to continue to a university after RCTC, pay particular attention to our MINNESOTA STATE TRANSFER PATHWAYS. These programs are designed so you can complete a specific associate degree at RCTC and transfer to a four-year Minnesota State university like Winona State or Minnesota State University, Mankato to earn a bachelor’s degree without losing credits or taking any extra courses. RCTC offers some unique EDUCATION COLLABORATION PROGRAMS with the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS) which allow you to take your prerequisite courses at RCTC and finish your degree at MCSHS. These programs are highly competitive, but many RCTC students are offered positions prior to their graduation date.

PURPLE PATH TO PURPLE allows you to seamlessly transfer from RCTC to Winona State University-Rochester without leaving town and sometimes without leaving the RCTC campus. Your benefit as a Path to Purple student is having access to a shared academic advisor to ensure all requirements are met, and you’re on track to complete your program.
FIND YOUR HIVE GET CONNECTED Take your education to another level by participating in a servicelearning program. RCTC students have partnered with many community organizations such as Ability Building Center (ABC), Channel One Food Bank, Rochester Diversity Council, and Intercultural Mutual Assistance Association (IMAA) to name a few. Students have also studied abroad in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Cambodia.

As part of the NJCAA, you have the opportunity to play while earning an education. We are #yellowjacketstrong. All students can use the Rochester Regional Sports Center, which features a cardio, free weight, and circuit training facility; a 44,000 square foot fieldhouse with a 200-meter track and four multipurpose floors; and a performance court for athletics, physical education courses, and intramurals. Also accessible to students is the Rochester Regional Stadium which boasts artificial turf and an inflatable bubble for use during the winter months. In addition, there are 20 athletic fields for soccer, softball, baseball, general recreation, and so much more!

Fill out a FREE application for admission to RCTC online at www.rctc.edu/apply.
APPLICATION DEADLINES: FALL: Two weeks prior to start of term SPRING: One week prior to start of term SUMMER: No application deadline NEW STUDENTS: Request official high school transcripts or an equivalent, such as a GED, to be sent to RCTC. TRANSFER STUDENTS: Request college transcripts from all institutions attended, even if you withdrew. If you have attended or are currently attending one or more Minnesota State institutions (not including the University of Minnesota), your official transcript(s) will be electronically retrieved at no cost once you have submitted your application.

Submit your placement materials. New students to RCTC can submit one or more of the following to assist in course placement. •
Test Scores within the following parameters: 1. ACT, MCA, and/or SAT reading or English scores within five years 2. ACT, MCA, and/or SAT math scores within five years

Placement testing (Accuplacer and ALEKS) completed at another institution: 1. Reading within last five years 2. Math within last two years

College-level English and/or Math courses completed at RCTC or another college or university: 1. Coursework must be on official transcripts for evaluation and placement. 2. Students who have previously submitted these courses do not need to submit them again.

Find out how to pay for college: • Apply for financial aid. • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) online at www.fafsa.edu using RCTC’s school code, 002373. Complete Orientation which is required for all new RCTC students. Orientation will introduce you to the software used to manage your enrollment, and RCTC policies and procedures. You will also receive an individual registration appointment with your Pathway Advisor. Orientation sessions for fall semester begin in late March; sessions for spring semester begin in November.
