An Analysis of Contemporary China - Mail Package.

Dear Sirs: I write this to share with you an important piece of research, which, I believe, is much of immediate and urgent relevance to contemporary China, to the events that have been unfolding there – the policies of China that need to be examined in the light of our conscience, with the goal of achieving a true and lasting progress for the Chinese as well as the rest of humanity.

China, the Central Kingdom, plays major role in this history that is unfolding – it is up to every single Chinese to ensure that the role is a good one, and that the lasting honor that ensues thus belongs to them as well. This can only be achieved by being broad hearted, will to admit past mistakes, and daring to break through into a new paradigm of thought, and a new paradigm of progress.

We should never let ourselves be trapped in or limited by a framework of materialistic notions, or dragged into such a framework by entities with ulterior goals – which would but be closing oneself into a framework of blind beliefs – instead, we must open-mindedly strive to comprehend how the very Cosmos is structured, and understand, objectively, and truly scientifically, what our roles in it are – that’s a path of science and research which China has since ancient times taken, and the Chinese are very much capable of taking, while breaking through into a path of faster progress.

In the articles I attach, I touch upon a few very critical matters, which, I believe, are of immediate relevance to China – insights, which, I believe, call for a new paradigm in China – a breakthrough of rigidified notions, into a brighter China – and a more beautiful future for the Chinese. Toward achieving it, each Chinese, I believe, must take a bold, and very active stance, holding true to one’s own heart.

I request you to kindly explore through the material, exploring through the links in the document, towards a deep understanding of what I attempt to share. It would help much to have this information forwarded to those whom it is of immediate relevance, perhaps to all levels of the government, and all in various positions of power – am sure an analysis, and introspection, could lead to a profound ripple of changes. Contained in it is information that could have an absolutely transformative impact on China as a nation, and which deserves a very careful and rational study.

The Burn Down in Tiananmen Square The story of how a regime murdered a mother and a child, systematically deceiving a nation.

It had to be engineered with the most careful thought: A one billion were to be deceived –and a pretext was badly needed – a justification, for the regime’s genocide of a group of kind-hearted people. As with the Tibetan Buddhists, their crime was one of innocence – that they were quite not the atheist-Marxist kind, that they practiced Truthfulness-Kindness-Endurance, and a gentle meditation involving gentle, ancient qigong [tai chi] exercises. Their number, state statistics put at over 70 million, in China alone. That was a figure that topped the communist party membership – and a cause, for the gravest concern, for the evil regime.

For the regime, anything spiritual, be they Tibetan Buddhists, or the practitioners of Falun Dafa, that were a perceived threat to its materialist ideology, and, hence, its hold to absolute power over the people – had to be curbed. Practitioners of Falun Dafa, the fastest growing system of mind-body cultivation in the history of China, had become a target, two years before, in 1999, when a brutal wave of persecution was unleashed against them.

The regime points to a supposed self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square on January 23, 2001 as proof that Falun Gong is an "evil cult”. However, we have obtained a video of that incident that in our view proves that this event was staged by the government.

We have copies of that video available for distribution.

For this drama, among a few others, a 12 year old and her mother were chosen. They agreed, probably under promises of money, or under threats, or both. Scripted into that drama, and ignorant to them, was their cold blooded murder, on that very stage. In the middle of Tiananmenn square, that mother would be clubbed to death – and the 12 year old, tortured, over months, in a hospital, whilst she is denied access to the external world.

The blame for the incident would then be shifted on to a 100 million innocents, and public sentiment would be turned against them.

Played out, carefully, and, as scripted, the drama was. News were telecast nationwide immediately, quite contrary to protocol which requires all sensitive news to be vetted by the multiple levels of the regime-apparatus; contrary to protocols which

curtail coverage of any protests. The immolators were practitioners of an ancient spiritual way, the most popular system of qi gong mediation in China, the reports claimed. Video footage of the scene, but, appeared after “a week of production,” news dissector Danny Schechter pointed out.

Despite all the careful engineering that went in, the tapes would eventually become a complete exposé of how the regime had been deceiving its own citizens, throughout its history, feeding them with little more than propaganda1, and continually denying them the right to freedom, even in mere thought, in what they may choose to believe. A case-study of how the regime has been turning the Chinese against their own fellowmen, injecting them with hatred – to ensure its own survival.

Actors Five people were reported to have set themselves on fire on that day in Tiananmen Square. The flames were all put out by policemen standing by, within a span of 90 seconds. The nearest building is over 10 minutes away, and the police do not routinely carry fire extinguishers – yet, nearly 25 pieces of firefighting equipment were used in an interval of 90 seconds. The police are not known to carry firefighting equipment in their usual patrols of the square.

A European Journalist noted: "I have never seen policemen patrolling on Tiananmen Square carrying fire extinguishers. How come they all showed up today? The location of the incident is at least 20 minutes roundtrip from the nearest building — the People's Great Hall. If they were to have dashed over there to get the equipment, it would have been too late."

For prudent observers, the most obvious giveaways were the masks. Nothing like burned skin - the face of the victims seemed - formed of patches of two colors, alternating sharply across artistically drawn curves[See Figure 1 , Right].

They killed a nine-year-old boy Samni, for example, cutting open his belly and eating his heart. It is interesting to note that “butchering Tibetan people, looting temples, and raping women,” are things the Chinese Communist Party itself is doing. Such propaganda manages to function in an environment where all forms of media are quarantined, and even twitter, bbc, and facebook are illegal.

Schechter notes that practitioners draw attention to that the exercise movements or the meditation posture of the self-immolators are not correct, which would be strange given the regime’s claim they are long term practitioners . Further, all forms of killing, including suicide are considered sinful, in the Buddhist teachings of the ancient tradition. Professor David Ownby notes that “Falun gong representative from outside of China immediately contested the accuracy of reports coming from the mainland. Over and over again, they insisted – correctly – that there is no sanction for violence in Li Hongzhi’s writings or in Falun Gong practice – whether it be violence targeted at someone else, or at oneself.”

Philip Pan of Washington Post who visited the hometown of two self-immolators, writes:

Beijing denied requests to interview Liu Siying and the three other survivors, who are all hospitalized ... A Kaifeng official said only China Central Television and the official New China News Agency were permitted to speak to their relatives or their colleagues. A man who answered the door at the Liu home referred questions to the government. ..But Liu Chunling's Apple Orchard neighbors described her as a woman who led a troubled life and suffered from psychological problems. State media identified 78-year-old Hao Xiuzhen as her adoptive mother. Neighbors said they quarreled often before Liu drove the woman from their home last year.

"There was something wrong with her," said neighbor Liu Min, 51. "She hit her mother, and her mother was crying and yelling. She hit her daughter, too." ..There were also questions about how Liu supported herself and about the whereabouts of her daughter's father.

Neighbors said Liu was not a native of Kaifeng, and that a man in southern Guangdong province paid her rent.

Others, including neighbor Wen Jian, 22, said Liu worked in a local nightclub and was paid to dine with and dance with customers.

Professor David Ownby notes that such is: “Hardly a typical profile of a practitioner.” Philip Pan further notes that “None ever saw her practice Falun Gong.” After this article, the reporter was arrested upon returning to the immolator’s hometown for further investigation.

“Significantly,” points out news analyst Danny Schechter, “one of the CNN producers on the scene, just 50 feet away, says she did not even see a child there.”

Beatrice Turpin covered Falun Gong in China for Associated Press TV and wrote about her experiences for MediaChannel. She responded from her home in Thailand: "There was a big brouhaha with Falun Gong protests and footage of police beating practitioners last Chinese New Year and it would certainly fit in with typical China strategy to stage an event this year and make the show their own." Two Wang

Speech identification technology at a world-renowned laboratory in speech identification, synthesis, and verification in Taiwan, pointed out that the lead self-immolator, “Wang Jindong,” who appeared several times on China’s state-run CCTV programs, could only have been played by two different people, as the voices were unambiguously determined to belong to two people. This evidence emerged, further corroborating a previous analysis which showed the hairline and ears of the “Wang Jindong” in the selfimmolation footage as being different from the photo of “Wang Jindong” released by China’s state-run media.

Cameramen Another question: If the incident lasted just a couple of minutes, “Who took the videos?” How come they zoom in and out - how come an entire camera crew were in place to capture the action in all detail?

The footage, as aired on state television, shows the cameras zooming in on the victims’ face, and the victims are taken to hospital only after their apparent agonies are thoroughly caught on camera. The footage can be seen in the award-winning documentary-analysis – “False Fire2.”

The victims, speak a something to the camera - rehearsed lines - which Falun Dafa practitioners point out has nothing to do with their teachings. And these statements, and displays of agony, are thoroughly videographed before they are “rushed” to the hospital.

The regime answered questions raised on the source of the footage, claiming, it was from a CNN crew who happened to be there, at that time, in Tiananmen Square. In a Washington Post article, CNN’s chief news executive, Eason Jordan, said “the footage used in the Chinese television reports could not have come from CNN videotape because the CNN cameraman was arrested almost immediately after the incident began.” The Washington Post article goes on to say, “The close-up shots shown on Chinese television appear to have been taken without any interference from police. In some, the camera is clearly behind police barricades …In addition, footage from overhead surveillance cameras in Tiananmen Square appears to show a man using a small handheld video camera to film the scene, not a large TV news camera.” The man with the video camera is dressed like a Chinese police officer and moving freely among them to video tape the scene at close range.

In one instance: The officer stands beside the person, holds a blanket near the self-immolator’s body and waits. Finally, the self-immolator shouts out something for the camera , which runs like “This universal dafa is something everyone has to get through,” (spokespersons for the Falun Dafa Information Center make it clear that this statement has absolutely no basis in the teachings of Falun Dafa) at which point the officer than throws the blanket on the man, and the camera moves. Why was it that the officer waited for the man to shout this slogan as the video camera was rolling right in front of him?

Source of Long-Range Footage Remains unknown: The long-distance surveillance cameras located on roofs of the buildings surrounding Tiananmen Square pan back and forth automatically, and do not have the capability to zoom in and out. Yet, the long distance footage of the self-immolations was not panning, but focusing in and on the exact locations of the self-immolations. Additionally, these cameras were zooming in and out. Who took this footage and how did they happen to be on the rooftops with a long distance zoom-capable video camera at the right time?

Unusual Alacrity The Wall Street Journal's Ian Johnson, observed the state media "reported [the victim's] death with unusual alacrity, implying that either the death took place earlier than reported or the usually cautious media had top-level approval to rush out electronic reports and a televised dispatch. The 7 p.m. local evening news, for example, had a filmed report from Mr. Tan's hometown of Changde, a small city in Hunan province. Most reports for the evening news are vetted by noon, so the daily broadcast rarely carries reports from the same day, let alone an event that happened at noon and involved satellite feeds from relatively remote parts of the country."

Clubbed to Death “In the slowed version, it appears that Liu Chunling, one of two people who died, collapsed not from the flames but from being bludgeoned by a man in a military overcoat.” – The Boston

Globe Footage Shows a Self-Immolator Clubbed on the Head by Security Officer: From the video recording of the self-immolation aired on CCTV, one can see a man wearing a military overcoat and he appears to have a heavy object that strikes the head of Ms. Liu Chunling, one of the self-immolators.

The impact of the blow sends her immediately to the ground. Analysts believe that Liu Chunling died at the scene from this assault. Who is this man and why did he strike Ms. Liu on the head? One theory derived from Ms. Liu’s frantic motion and reported yelling during the incident suggests she had done or said something that might betray the self-immolation plot.

Another, is they needed a death or two for sentimental impact.

In the Hospital “The government says doctors performed a tracheotomy on the victim, but a pediatric surgeon said that, if that were true, the child wouldn't be speaking right away.” – Danny Schechter,

News Dissector Medical personnel at Jishuitan Hospital – the hospital where the self-immolators were rushed to after the incident – revealed that the ambulance carrying the self-immolators arrived two hours after they were loaded into the ambulance on Tiananmen Square. It is only about 6 miles between Tiananmen Square and Jishuitan Hospital. The trip should take approximately 15 minutes. Where were the victims during these two hours?

Mysterious Death of Young Girl: Medical staff at Jishuitan Hospital also say the 12-year-old girl reportedly involved in the self-immolation died “suddenly” just before she was to be released from the hospital. They reported that her death was “very suspicious” because she had recovered well and showed good health just a day before she died. They reported that on the morning of March 17, 2001 – the day she was to be released – she was “quite animated and active” and was visited by the head of the Beijing City Medical Administration Division. A few hours later she was suddenly in critical condition and died.

Several other discrepancies, including that state media reporters were immediately given access to the immolators, while international media was denied access. The non-sterile conditions in which the interviews take place with the burn victims, in the hospital, and the treatment procedures which doctors point out are inconsistent with standard treatments for severe burns.

Prophecies – Searching For The Answers What did Nostradamus prophesy would happen in the seventh month of 1999?

rophecies, spanning all major traditions, speak of this period as one of significant importance in history.

These prophecies, though intentionally written in allegories and symbols, remain clear enough for those who might be willing to pay enough attention to understand.

Exploring these prophecies, is interesting in many ways – one being the question of: If we could see into the words of the prophets, would it endow us with the power to change history – take an alternate, better course?

Year 1999, Seventh Month “In the year 1999, seventh month,

From the sky will come a great King of Terror, In order to bring back to life the great king of Angolmois, Before and after Mars reigns in the name of bringing people happiness."

- Century X, Quatrain 72. Centuries, Nostradamus.

The only event of significance that transpired on earth in the seventh month of 1999 was the onset of a brutal persecution by the Chinese regime against practitioners of Falun Dafa – an ancient spiritual discipline, whose adherents seek to improve themselves by their principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Before the onset of the persecution, over a hundred million freely practiced Falun Dafa in China.

The persecution has been unprecedented in scale and brutality – forms of violence not known to history has been unleashed against practitioners – many have been tortured to the brink of death, and estimates say tens of thousands have had their organs harvested, whilst they are still alive. Children, women, elderly – none have been spared.

The persecution extends to all aspects of society – including the educational system, the workplace, the media. Even media outside of China has been targeted in various ways – including through China’s army of paid internet commentators – referred to as the 50 cent party – a force, estimated to be 300,000 strong, who scour sites such as Wikipedia, Youtube, Twitter, etc., attempting to cover up information on the regime’s human rights violations, and skew public opinion through posts and comments.1 “King of Terror” is how Nostradamus chose to describe a calamity that descended on mankind as a whole. The persecution, the baseless slander, and the ruckus the communist regime engineered in China, where no form of free media exists, would result in tens of millions of Chinese being deceived – as they already had been by the state controlled Chinese media in matters such as the regime’s persecution of the Tibetan Buddhists. The persecution was viewed

by Nostradamus as a disaster for mankind as a whole – for the persecution would bring an immense amount of karma to humankind itself – many would, for years, fail to see the truth, deceived by the regime’s propaganda machine.

The great compassion and tolerance demonstrated by Falun Dafa practitioners in upholding the principles of their practice under the most severe environment had touched the hearts of people throughout the city, state, nation and world.

“Mars reigns in the name of bringing people happiness” explains why the world governments, despite strongly criticizing in words the actions of the Chinese regime, would fail to take concrete steps towards forcing China to stop the persecutions. “Mars2” refers to [Karl] Marx, whose theory of Marxism, would come to control the ideals of societies and humans around the world. Societies, their frameworks of thinking bound by such notions of “bringing people *material+ happiness,” would continue to engage in trade with China, even buckle to the regime in their policies. This rule of “mars,” and a fear of financial backlash from the regime, would keep many of the world’s media from giving due coverage to the crimes of the persecution, and bringing the facts to public attention.

Under influence of Marxian theories, they would fail to realize that it is Goodness that is eventually returned with Goodness – and supporting the evil would only bring misfortune, no matter how well things might have been humanly calculated and planned – for that is an objective law emerging from how the very Cosmos is physically constituted. Actions which align in nature to the nature of the Cosmos – which is True-Good-Enduring –bring Goodness and lasting Happiness. Goodness is returned with Goodness and Evil with Evil – in all ancient, upright traditions is taught this principle.

What nations must do in this historical juncture is stay rooted in absolute Goodness – refuse, if necessary, to trade with the criminal regime – take a powerfully bold, and strong stance – and take concrete action toward an immediate end to the evil persecution. Once nations take the right stance, and do that which is the right thing to be done, phenomenon would automatically transpire bringing prosperity to those nations. Just as one would not do business with a criminal for immediate profit, it is important not to trade with a regime such as China, while it is holding up such a policy of persecution of innocents – be it Tibetan Buddhists, Falun Dafa practitioners, or others. Very least, the worlds’ nations together taking a strong stance, urging for China to allow fundamental freedoms and free thought to its people, would force the regime into changing its policies.

The influence and ‘rule of Mars’ is even more apparent in China – where a veil of material good fortune is used by the Chinese regime to deceive people – to keep them blinded to a fundamental destruction of all values that is happening in China.

In West, From East “The Easterner will leave his seat, To pass the Apennine mountains to see Gaul: He will transpire the sky, the waters and the snow, And everyone will be struck with his rod.”3 - Century 2, Quatrain 29. Centuries, Nostradamus.

The Founder of Falun Dafa, Mr. Li Hongzhi, was born in China, and, first taught Falun Dafa outside of China in France, upon invitation of the Chinese Embassy in France, in 1995. The region of France was called “Gaul” by the ancient Romans. This series of Lectures was followed by a second in Sweden.

The prophecies seem to suggest that the Teacher would “appear in Asia, and be in Europe.”

"I can choose to go anywhere, and it's right that I chose to stay in the United States. In the beginning the old forces arranged for me to go to France, and it was even mentioned in prophecies. For various reasons, though, I came to the U.S. But it's not that I have some special preference for the U.S. " - Mr. Li Hongzhi, Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference To be ‘struck by a rod,’ is veiled usage in ancient traditions for ‘to be spiritually awakened.’

Century X, Quartan 75, seems to refer to that Dafa practitioners in China await their Teacher’s return.

The Bible says:

“Lo, I did tell you beforehand. 'If therefore they may say to you, Lo, in the wilderness he is, ye may not go forth; lo, in the inner chambers, ye may not believe; for as the lightning doth come forth from the east, and doth appear unto the west, so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man;” “- Matthew 24:25-27, The Bible, Young’s Literal Translation The Bible, in above verses, seems to speak of the coming of an Easterner – whose presence on the world stage would be openly manifest – that the prophesied of individual would not be someone in deep forests, or in the inner chambers of mystery societies – “for as the lightning doth come forth from the east, and doth appear unto the west, so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man.” In China, Falun Dafa was the most popular system of mind-body cultivation, ever. Several awards were given to Mr. Li Hongzhi by government bodies in China – including “Qi Gong

Grandmaster” by the Jilin Province Qi Gong Research Society, “Most Acclaimed Qi Gong Master” at the Beijing Health Expo, award for “Advancing Frontier Science” – before the onset of the persecution. Since the declaration of Mr. Li Hongzhi as a goodwill ambassador and honorary citizen by the city of Houston, Texas, commending an “unselfish public service for the benefit and welfare of mankind,” in 1995, Mr. Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa have received over a thousand awards from government bodies world over for the benefits Falun Dafa has brought to their citizens. Mr. Li Hongzhi is a four time Nobel Peace Prize nominee and was a nominee for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.

In July, 1999, unsettled by the large number of dedicated practitioners throughout China, the atheist-Marxist Chinese regime launched a brutal persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. The persecution has been strongly criticized by all major human rights organizations and major governments around the world.

Other Prophecies In the Buddhist Scriptures, in the Book of Revelations, are all prophecies referring to this period, the spread of a Great Teaching and the persecution of its practitioners. A Buddhist Sutra, prophesizes:

“Alas! In the evil time Of the Dharma-Ending Age, Living beings' blessings are slight, It is difficult to train them.

Far indeed from the sages of the past!

Their deviant views are deep.

Demons are strong, the Dharma is weak; Many are the wrongs and injuries.

Hearing the door of the Thus Come One's sudden teaching, They hate not destroying it as they would smash a tile.

The doing is in the mind; The body suffers the calamities.

There's no need for unjust accusations that shift the blame to others.

If you don't wish to invite the karma of the unintermittent [hell], Do not slander the Thus Come One's Proper Wheel of Dharma.” SE(62-63).

“Dharma Ending period,” was a term used by the historical Gautama Buddha to refer to the period starting approximately 2000 years after his passing away.

The Buddhist traditions believe that with the coming of the Maitreya’s Teachings would appear many divine symbols around the world – one among them being the appearance of the mystical Udumbara flowers.

In Buddhist traditions, it is believed that if one lets another know of a true cultivation way, and that person cultivates to consummation, the virtue engendered by his good act would result in the first person obtaining godhood as well.

When a person does the opposite – harms practitioners, spreads slander that would obstruct others from obtaining the way – the traditions say the consequences and the karma would be so immense, the being would have to suffer destruction of both his soul and body – or the “unintermittent hell.”

In Oraibi, Arizona, there is an ancient petroglyph known as the “Prophecy Rock” symbolizing old Hopi prophecies. The radiating wheel on the left, with a Swastika in the centre [a symbol associated with the Buddha School], resembles the Falun of Falun Dafa. The different paths sentient beings take seem symbolized in the diagram. A group would improve Figure 2. The circles seem meant to mark the start of major events and changes that were arranged to happen in Fa-rectification – two periods of ten years each – and then the beginning of a new era.

“Originally, the old forces’ arrangement was that there would be a total of twenty years, divided into a Fa-rectification period and a period in which the Fa rectifies the human world.

During the first ten years, Master would do Fa-rectification and Dafa disciples would cultivate during the Fa-rectification period; during the latter ten years the future people would obtain the Fa. Then it would enter the new era, and at that time the new future would begin. But I’ve revealed this because things have changed, although not too much.” Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference The ancient Mayans referred to the last 20 year period of the 13th and the last Baktun of their calendar – the period between 1992 and 2012 – as the “Earth Regeneration” period.

Falun Dafa was first taught to the general public in 1992.

“Just as with your practice of cultivation, as your bodies are being transformed, so the new earth is being made...These substances at the surface-level dimension will let the good people, who are kept to go on to the new earth, one day unwittingly find that the world has suddenly changed; or they may wake up one morning and discover that everything on earth has been renewed.” - Lecture at the First Conference in North America

Many lesser known prophecies, such as in the Notes by Ge An, The Ten Thousand Years Poem , The Plum Blossom Poem, The Bai Zi Ming, The Prophecies of Paracelsus, all refer to this period of time.

Both Paracelsus and Nostradamus prophesize that the Great Way would transcend other teachings left to mankind before, and dispel out the wicked and false ways:

“'A child that goes to school and learns, when it arrives at years of discretion is ashamed

of its childish work and destroys it. Thus shall it also happen to thee. As thou writest in such a manner thine own work shall be nought. For which reason there will be much labour for nought and in vain. For the time teacheth and giveth knowledge that not every pearl is a true pearl that is alleged so to be. Therefore a hand shall fall upon thee that will tear thee to shreds.” – Prophecies of Paracelsus

“A man will be charged with destroying the temple and religions altered by fantasy.

He will harm the rocks rather than the living.

Ears filled with ornate speeches.” – Quartain 96, Century 1, Centuries, Nostradamus I wish the perpetrators of this inhumane persecution would look into prophecies such as this; that they would find sense enough to calmly reflect on them, take an objective look at what they have been doing, what role they have been playing in this cosmic drama, and what consequences may await, in time. It would do humanity much good if they could realize their actions could bring no good to themselves, to others, or to humanity – if they could awaken to what they have been doing, and put a stop to their evil actions.

If they could attempt to reverse the danger they have brought upon themselves and those they deceived trough their lies, who they have made unwittingly take part in this treacherous persecution of innocents. For those among them capable of change and making up for their wrong – it may, perhaps, be not too late to do so – the very proof being their ability change.

It would help all humanity if they could ask themselves what reason is there to hold up such a persecution against those who merely seek to peacefully practice their meditative exercises, assimilate themselves to Truth-Compassion-Endurance - the very characteristic of the Cosmos. And who are they attempting to persecute - Humans, or the Cosmos itself?

The persecutors, and supporters of such a regime, would do well to reflect on this prophecy by Paracelsus:

'What is it, or what does it help you that ye combine together and do not consider that ye are contrary in soul and heart?

Behold only how ye are externally marked by your garments, even so are ye also internally. Ye should not be as beasts but as men, but as ye are not so, he will rule you that is Figure 3. "Russian Bear" as depicted in a 1911 English satirical magazine .

above you, of whom stands written: give unto him what to him belongs. For no bestial reason is permanent, only that reason remaineth which is destined and ordained by God. This falleth in due time, thus is your council destroyed.'

In Paracelsus’s work, corresponding to each passage is a woodcut. The bear was a symbol used by the USSR to represent itself – the fowl is symbolic of empty, foolish pride. Here a fowl struts itself in front of a Saint or a Prophet – not realizing the Heavens can choose to eliminate it, at will. The bear being placed behind the fowl symbolizes from where it draws its identity – communist Russia.

The same destruction of those who are “contrary in soul and heart” is symbolized in the Hopi petroglyph, according to interpretations. A “mark of the beast” is referred to in The Bible, Book of Revelations.

“Pendre Diane” – “Out of Wood” The “Ten Thousand Years Poem,” an ancient Chinese prophetic poem, traditionally attributed to Jiang Ziya, says:

“Rabbit,”“out of Wood,” leading people of the future, hands free but outcome Good.

Mr. Li Hongzhi was born in the year of the Rabbit. The character for the name Li(李) is composed of the character for wood (木) and the character for child (子). A superficially interpreted meaning, the symbol allows for is – “out of wood.” Ancient forms for the character 李 are shown on the right.

The ancient Chinese dictionary Shuo Wen Jie Zi gives the meaning of the character as “果也。从木子聲。”, 果, is, in turn, described such by the Shuo Wen: “木實也。从木，象果形在木之上。” – This explanation translates as “The produce of a tree, from the character 木, and the pictorial representation of a fruit on a tree.” The character 木 carries the meanings ‘wood’ and ‘tree.’

“That which neither weapon nor flame could accomplish will be achieved by a sweet speaking tongue in council.” - Quartain 97, Century 1, Nostradamus

The phrase ”Hands free” seem to carry multiple layers of meaning – one being that it would be through his Teachings, that the Teacher would be leading people of the future.

Nostradamus gives us a hint to the identity of the Prophet, in his work Centuries:

“Le penultieme du ƒurnom du Prophete, Prendra Diane pour ƒon iour & repos.

Loing vaguera par frenetique teƒte, Et deliurant vn grand peuple d'impos” – Quartain 28, Century 2, Centuries, Nostradamus The first line translates to “The penultimate of the Surname of the Prophet.” “Penultimate of the Surname,” seems meant to be a reference to the family name.

The second line deserves closer analysis to bring out its meaning, which Nostradamus has veiled in symbolism. A surface translation would make it seem the two sentences together carry no cogent meaning, and the sentence is usually translated as “Takes Diana for his day and rest.”

The word “Pendra,” derives from Latin Pendre, meaning to hang down from, be suspended from – sharing its etymological root with the English word suspend, which derives from Latin suspendere. “Pour” is a French word, here conveying the meaning for. “Ƒon” is a determiner conveying the meaning his, its, etc., depending on context.

“Dianae” is Latin for “Philosopher’s Tree” also known as “Diana’s Tree” or Arbor Philosophorum. In alchemy, symbols where used to refer to concepts – “sulphur,” for instance, symbolized “elemental fire.” The word “Dianae” was used to refer to the alchemist’s concept of the “Philoshopher’s Tree” as well as to a chemical tree-like amalgam of crystallized silver. The 17th century chemist Nocolas Lemery describes the Figure 4. Cystallized amalgam of silver crystal’s form as “a kind of tree, which throwing out referred to as Dianae by ancient alchemists – resembles the branches of a tree and even branches will represent natural vegetation.” The form may have fruit-like forms occurring on its of the crystal being remarkably arborescent, with even branches. fruit-like structures occurring on its branches, it lead pre-modern chemists to speculate of the existence of life in the mineral kingdom.

“Iour & repos” could be translated as “day and rest” – here it carries layers of meaning – one is to symbolize the active[day], and the passive[rest] – two fundamental energies which

the alchemists held gives rise to all forms existing in nature. Just as the ancient Daoists theorized that Yin[The Passive Principe] and Yang[The Active Principle] created the five elements[five movement, literally], which, in turn, created the myriad forms that exist in nature. “Iour &repos” – here seems an alchemically veiled reference to “form.” “Iour &repos” thus could imply, “in two parts [halves] – which go together, like the day and night, giving rise to a cogent form.”

The Chinese believe their characters’ forms are divine, that they have their origin in the Dao, and, thus, that their forms reflect the movement of fundamental energies of Yin and Yang.

“Prendra Diane” thus translates to “Fruit[that which is suspended from, or hangs down from - pendre] from the Philosopher’s Tree,“ – to make it closer to Jiang Ziya’s words – “ Out of Philisopher’s Tree.” That which seems symbolized in 李.

The entire line could well be translated as “A Fruitful Philosopher’s Tree, for its form[iour & repos].”

The 28th Quatrain of Century II, thus, says:

The penultimate to the Surname of the Prophet, A Fruitful Philosopher’s Tree, for its form.

His Heart not at ease, he would travel the world, Delivering a great many from subjugation .”

From 1992 to 1994, Mr. Li Hongzhi conducted over 54 lecture series in China, upon invitation of government Qi Gong organizations in several cities in China – each set of Lectures typically spanning 8-10 days. From 1995, He lectured on Falun Dafa in cities of Europe, Australia, and the United States.

Dr. M. Doreal, a 20th century researcher of spiritual traditions, speaks of a Tibetan Prophecy of Maitreya’s coming after the wars. Some interpret the Buddhist scriptures as prophesising the arrival of the “Holy King Who Turns the Wheel,” as after five period of 500 years after Gautama Buddha’s departure from the world – which would overlap with the period Doreal refers to.

The Huilin Phonetics and Interpretations, a Buddhist work, says, "Udumbara is the product of ominous and supernatural phenomena; it is a celestial flower and does not exist in the mundane world. If a Tathagata or King of the Golden Wheel appears in the human world, these flowers will manifest due to their great virtue and blessings."

Notes by Ge An, a five centuries old Korean Prophetic work, speaks of the "Lord of All Heavenly Kings,” coming to the world - which is how the Maiteya is described in the Buddhist traditions.

Chinese prophetic works such as “The Back Pushing Diagrams,” “Yuan Tiangang Inscription Prophecy,” the “Pancake Song prophecy,” the "Stone Tablet Inscription in Taibai Mountain of Shaanxi Province" all seem to point to the same period of time, and all speak of a similar set of incidents, which, it would seem, were prearranged to transpire in history.

“So much silver of Diana and Mercury, The images will be found in the lake: The sculptor looking for new clay, He and his followers will be steeped in gold.”

Alchemical traditions spoke of converting lead to gold – the lead being the grosser human mind and body, and gold being the spiritually transformed self. “Steeped in gold” suggests profound spiritual growth and evolution.

“Silver of Diana and Mercury,” seem a reference to Wisdom, allegorical reference, employing reference to products of an alchemical process through which self perfection was sought, “the lake” is alchemical symbolism for the mind. Only on calm waters images form – thus, symbolic of an enlightened mind, capable of reflecting higher truths. Sculptor looking for new clay is a reference to that more people come to obtain the Way. Clay symbolizes “raw material” – that which will come to be transformed through cultivation practice.

Many practitioners find in Falun Dafa a way of keeping themselves healthy, and energetic – both in the mind and the body. A pilot study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, notes: “ ... changes in gene expression of FLG*Falun Dafa+ practitioners... were characterized by enhanced immunity, downregulation of cellular metabolism, and alteration of apoptotic genes in favour of a rapid resolution of inflammation.”

Falun Dafa teaches practitioners to continually improve their heart-nature/mind-nature or xinxing, or moral levels, in the midst of the complicated environment of everyday society, continually assimilating to Truthfulness-Compassion-Endurance. Falun Dafa has five meditative exercises, which improve both the mind and the body, and which can be self taught using videos available for free download on the Falun Dafa website. Falun Dafa exercises have always been taught free of cost, by volunteers; all books, lectures, and

exercise instructions are made available for free download on Falun Dafa websites. The Teachings have been translated to over 40 languages.

Revelations – Prophecies The persecution of Falun Dafa in China extends to all aspects of people’s lives – unless one aligns with the evil party’s policy of persecution, one cannot avail the educational system, trade, be part of society, or even function in that society. Work places, media, the educational system, all, under control of the evil regime, actively take part in persecuting practitioners. Students, for instance, are forced to write statements slandering Falun Dafa, and unless they do so – they are not officially allowed to partake in education.

The Chapter 13 of The Book of Revelations, The Bible, as if directly speaking of this, says:

“ And it maketh all, the small, and the great, and the rich, and the poor, and the freemen, and the servants, that it may give to them a mark upon their right hand or upon their foreheads, and that no one may be able to buy, or to sell, except he who is having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. “ – Revelation 13:16-17, The Bible, Young’s Literal Translation On the number of the mentioned beast, The Bible says: “Here is the wisdom! He who is having the understanding, let him count the number of the beast, for the number of a man it is. *Young’s Literal Translation+” – and many speculatory interpretations exist. I’d like to present an interesting observation here. In the most ancient manuscripts available of The Bible, the number is not 666 but 616. For instance, the National Geographic article titled “Papyrus Reveals New Clues to Ancient World” published on October, 2010, notes: “*In+ fragments showing third- and fourth-century versions of the Book of Revelations.

Intriguingly, the number assigned to "the Beast" of Revelations isn't the usual 666, but 616.”

The earliest known record of the Book of Revelations, “P115,”gives the number 616, so does the early record “Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus,” which has it written in text – “hexakosiai deka hex.”

If we take the name Karl Hirschel Marx4 – and are willing to assume the characterization of Marx as Mars could have been a key Nostradamus left us, perhaps to adapt things to today’s alphabetical system – simple numerology, and our current alphabetical system – maps the 4

Nostradamus, speaks of the advent of Marxism in Quartain 35, Century 3, Centuries: “From the very depths of the West of Europe, A young child will be born of poor people, He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop: His fame will increase in the Orient.” Nostradamus. Nostradamus uses the word “d’Oreint “. – a term now used to refer to the Far East. Marx was born in Germany, and did influence a great many through his words.

name to 616. The sum of the letter numbers [ a-1, b-2, c-3, etc.], summed down to a single digit, gives us the number 6 for Karl, 1 for Hirschel, and 6 for Mars.

If the above interpretation is correct, it would seem that Nostradamus and the Book of Revelations are pointing to the same fact - about the state of society during the time of the persecution. “Upon right hand” would signify physical work and “forehead” would signify mental work – everyone has to be working in a Marxian system, under the “rule of mars,” either doing physical labour or intellectually – if he does not he may not be able to “buy or sell” in that framework of society.

In Revelations, The Bible speaks of two beasts and a red dragon- the second is the one described above. This, the second beast, is described as having: “two horns, like a lamb, speaking as a dragon.*Young’s Literal Translation+.” “Like a lamb,” implies it would seem harmless. “Speaking as dragon,” seems allegorical of its ability to convince people of its power, of presenting itself as the most able in bringing forth material change. The two horns may be interpreted as the theories of Karl Marx and Freidrich Engels – the two proponents of theories at the very core of Marxist-materialist thought. Thus, it would seem, the second beast described in The Bible, Revelations, is the Marxist-materialist ideology which has come to define human notions, and society’s views on achieving progress.

A prophecy earlier mentioned, the Plum Blossom Poem, refers to the Chinese regime as the “skin of a leopard,” and the old Soviet Union is likened to a leopard - in the line “The leopard has died, but its skin is still left.” In literary circles, the old communist bloc is often referred to as a “leopard.”5

“Two revolutions will be caused by the evil scythe bearer Making a change of reign and eras The mobile sign thus moves into its house: Equal in favor to both sides.” - Century I, Quartain 54 The above quatrain is often interpreted as referring to the communist revolutions, in Russia, and in China which would create a new balance of power – equal in favor to both sides. The “mobile-sign” is interpreted by some to be Libra, the Balance.

The struggle of communism not leading to prosperity seems spoken of in: “At the third month, in rising sun, Boar, Leopard in the field of Mars battles, (Sanglier, Liepard au champ Mars pour combattre) Fatigued Leopard looks up to the sky Sees the Eagle soaring around the sun.” – Century 1, Quartain 23 Third month and rising sun may be a reference to building heat, or a summer setting in – to symbolize the toil that would follow.. “Boar” is symbolic of poverty, lack of development, and crude circumstances. Leopard fights in the field of Mars – with Marxian ideologies the leopard[ the bloc of communist nations] attempts to fight the boar. Tired, looking up, they see the Eagle soar around the sun, Eagle is a symbol of the United States – and here symbolizes democracy, and capitalism. The different outcomes brought forth by the two ideologies was perhaps the most apparent in how history played out in East Germany and in West Germany.

“The beast that I saw was like to a leopard, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as the mouth of a lion,” says the Book of Revelations, describing the first beast. Like a leopard would mean – resembling the old communist bloc, feet as of a bear would mean – treading a similar path as of Soviet Russia, “mouth of a lion” is allegoric of how it boasts, trying to build itself up in the eyes of world through lofty claims.

Thus, the first beast, it seems, is symbolic of the bloc of communist countries and the power they exercise.

This beast’s multiple heads and horns seem a reference to the strong holds of communist power in the world.

Lawyer, Nobel Peace Prize

The Bible says, in Revelations 13:3, shortly after describing the first beast : “And I saw one of its heads Nominee as slain to death, and its deadly stroke was healed, and all the earth did wonder after the beast,” This must be a reference to the fall of communist Russia, a deadly stroke for the first beast, which later healed, and, all the world, it does seem, did wonder after the progress the Chinese regime achieved.

“And they did bow before the dragon who did give authority to the beast, and they did bow before the beast, saying, 'Who is like to the beast? who is able to war with it?'” Is this not precisely the stance nations around the world are taking, in their relations with communist China? They have their faith captured by the “great signs” shown by the second beast – believe, knowingly or unknowingly, in the Marxian ideologies – in its power to bring them happiness – which makes them subservient in their policies to the beast and, in turn, the “red dragon” exercising control over it. The colour red is often associated with communism. The dragon was a symbol of Chinese emperors, and, in literature, China is often referred to as the “red dragon.”

If we take an objective look at the state of our societies now – it is such notions of achieving greater prosperity, notions that run contrary to the human heart and soul, that continue to make nations strive for better relations with the Chinese regime – ignoring that the regime is, in the most objective terms, the worst violator

of human rights history has witnessed; ignoring that the regime is currently holding up and driving the worst persecution humankind has witnessed, oblivious and ignorant that in the long run an unconscionable siding with those who engage in evil – with an evil regime – could only bring irreparable damages to any nation.

Reports continue of deaths of detained practitioners following torture and extreme

On the second beast, the Bible says: “and all the authority ill-treatment. of the first beast doth it do before it, and it maketh the land and those dwelling in it that they shall bow before the first The Amnesty International. beast, whose deadly stroke was healed, and it doth great signs, that fire also it may make to come down from the heaven to the earth before men, and it leadeth astray those dwelling on the land, because of the signs that were given it to do before the beast.”

“It doth great signs.. and leadeth astray those dwelling on the land” – seem to refer to the apparent material progress it would showcase before people in the mainland, thus deceiving them, and thus making them subservient to the first beast.

The red dragon is described in The Bible as having seven heads – and the chief perpetrators of the persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners were seven heads of the Chinese Communist Party. 6

Du grand Prophete les lettres seront prinses, Entre les mains du tyran deuiendront, Frauder son Roy seront les entreprinses, Mais ses rapines bien tost le troubleront..” - Quartain 36, Century II The above quatrain allows for an interpretation in the context of this persecution. Lettres derives from latin litera – written works. Thus, the first line says: “The works of the grand Prophet are seized.“ At the onset of the Persecution of Falun Dafa, the Chinese regime attempted the same. The second line says: “They’ll fall into the hands of the tyrant.” The word “Roy,” King, derives from the Scottish-Gaelic “raudh,” – sharing the same word root as “rudira” of Sanskrit and carrying the meaning “bright red.” The third line, thus could be saying: “Enterprising to deceive his Red*party+” – According to analysts, Jiang Zemin was single-handedly responsible for the persecution – and his purpose was to gain control over the masses and the party by engineering a new class-struggle.

Many within the party itself were initially opposed to the persecution and sources say that at the onset Jiang Zemin single handedly pushed forward his agenda of persecution. The fourth line translates as “But his plunders would soon be disrupted.” Jiang Zemin’s ploys would not fully achieve his intended personal goals, and he would be forced to step down.

“De l'aquatique triplicité naistra, D'vn qui fera le Ieudy pour sa feste.

Son bruit, los, regne, sa puissance croistra, Par terre & mer,aux Oriens tempeste.” – Quartain 50, Century I “Born of three water signs The one who will the Thursday pick for his feast His renown, praise, rule and power will grow On land and sea, bringing trouble to the East.” – Quartain 50, Century 1 The person referred to in the passage is often identified in popular culture as the “anti-christ.”The name of the Chinese dictator and the person who engineered the persecution for political benefits is Jiang Zemin. In Chinese it is written with three characters –Jiang( 江) which means “a large river.” Ze(泽) which means “marsh” or “swamp“ and Min(民 )which, etymologically, is a pictographic representation of a proliferous aquatic plant (民 is explained as a proliferous plant “眾萌也。从古文之象。凡民之屬皆从民。”, by the ShuoWen. See Chinese Ideographs, Volume 2, for an explanation of the ideograph. ).

Zemin has the literal meaning “he who survives on water.” The three character term, ideographically interpreted, would mean “a torrent of proliferous marsh entities” – quite interestingly, in line with online articles saying the person is a frog-spirit reincarnate – and that this inner-nature manifests in the person’s outward appearance. Revelations 16: 13 says: “I saw come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs.” , Young’s Literal Translation}

“And there was given to it a mouth speaking great things, and evil-speakings, and there was given to it authority to make war forty-two months, and it did open its mouth for evilspeaking toward God, to speak evil of His name, and of His tabernacle, and of those who in the heaven tabernacle.” The communist party while continuing to speak “great things,” deceiving people in the name of material good fortune, would speak evil of “His name, and of His tabernacle, and of those who in the heaven tabernacle.”

The number 42 is symbolic here, and 42 months from the onset of the persecution would be near end 2002 – the end of the first 10 year period spoken of in the ancient prophecies.

Nostradamus seems to put it in these words: “Mars & le sceptre se trouuera conioint.”

“Mars and the sceptre found conjoint.” – Quartain 24, Century 6, Centuries.

Bear-Like, No Further Reason In the Eleventh Figure of Paracelsus’s work is shown a bear sucking its paws – in the background is a honeycomb of buildings.

Accompanying it is the following passage:

“'Although the sun did once shine upon thee, and thou hast glutted thyself with food and plunder, and wast sitting among the honeycombs, yet thou hast not wisely considered the end, and hast forgotten the winter; therefore he taketh away thy pleasure, and will compel thee to suck thine own paws. For as thou art bear-like, and has no further reason, Magic hath driven thee into the toils that thou shouldst be known. But if the wit of man had been thine, the winter would not have overtaken thee.'”

Bears were traditionally thought to suck-paws for nutrition when having no food to eat in winter – and here seems symbolic of abject poverty. The passage, in one aspect of its meaning, seems to say that communism drives societies into abject poverty, after a period of glutting and plunder – that those would be lessons left by history for mankind – “toils

that thou shouldst be known.”

In this period of history, which entity is “bear-like [communist], and has no further reason;” is “glutting *itself+.. with food and plunder,” and is now “sitting amongst the honeycombs”?

On a Thursday, July 22, 1999, the persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners officially took off under the direction of Jiang Zemin.. The series of articles “The Real Story of Jiang Zemin,” published by the Epoch Times, analyzes Jiang’s story. To borrow words from the article, which seem to accurately describe the dictator – “*a+ clown who has brought disaster to the nation of China.”

Which entity is it that’s continuing in its refusal to “wisely consider the end” – for the “reason of man*wit of man+” is not its?

In his work, Nostradamus, as if speaking of the persecution, says:

Up to Us Humans Humankind must not take a passive stance in this drama –we must strive, with all in our ability, to put to a complete stop to this inhumane persecution. We have the choice of helping humanity in transcending the fate the prophets foresaw for mankind. The moment mankind boldly roots itself in what is Objectively Good – Mankind is Greater than its destiny.

Science and Man D Rajeev Throughout ancient times, man held he is divine in origin; the purpose of his existence being one of continually perfecting himself, one of fundamentally transcending this plane of existence.

Present-day science, on the other hand, paints a different picture of reality for us. From childhood, we are told that we are but an evolved animal, that all our thoughts and perception of what we are, are but creations of the brain, that our purpose is but the moment’s survival.

All in the Brain?

Modern science holds that human thoughts, personality, likes, dislikes, all originate in the brain, that the brain is the seat of our consciousness, our perception of the world, and of who we ourselves are.

“…everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe — spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble. In this way the pursuit of science leads to a religious feeling of a special sort, which is indeed quite different from the religiosity of someone more naive." –Einstein

But then, many observations contradict the theory.

A surgical procedure called hemispherectomy, employed in the treatment of epilepsy, involves removal of half the brain, a hemisphere of it. If the brain were the seat of our personality, the very sense of who we are, our memories, consciousness, etc. – one would expect all these to be severely damaged or altered with the surgery. But, according to the Scientific American, “Unbelievably, the surgery has no apparent effect on personality or memory.”

This holds irrespective of which hemisphere is removed such: memory, personality, likes, dislikes, all remain intact.

The same is observed in those who have survived gun-shot wounds to the brain. Motor functions, as the ability to do physical actions, or express things accurately through language, etc., are hampered, though.

Modern science has no way of explaining this clearly. th

In the 9 Chapter of Zhuan Falun, the role of the human brain is explained such:

“So what functions does the human brain have? As I see it, in the form of this physical dimension, the human brain is only a processing factory. The actual message is sent forth by the Primordial Spirit. What is transmitted, however, is not language, but a message of the universe that represents a certain meaning. Upon receiving such a command, our brains will process this into our present language or other such forms of expression; we express it through hand gesturing, eye contact, and complete movement.

The brain has only this effect. The actual commands and thoughts come from one’s Primordial Spirit. People usually believe that they are direct and independent functions of the brain. In fact, the Primordial Spirit is sometimes in the heart, so some people can indeed feel their hearts thinking” – Zhuan Falun The above excerpt not just explains why memory and personality would stay intact in such a scenario, but also why motor functions are likely to be hampered.

Understanding Physical Reality One of the greatest limitations of today’s paradigm of science is that it limits itself to the study of phenomenon in a single material dimension.

Throughout history, irrespective of the tradition, it was held that there exists a hierarchy of physical dimensions in the Cosmos. Phenomenon in this dimensional layer evolves as a layer, and has causatives in, phenomenon of higher dimensions, according to traditional sciences.

Modern science, as it has not yet come to understand the presence of such dimensions, or even dimensional spaces in the same realm, has such thought still way out of its framework.

There is a fundamental reason why modern science has difficulty knowing that higher dimensions exist. Matter of a realm, differs, in its nature, from matter in other realms. The very physical nature being different, matter in different realms, do not interact as material particles within the same realm does. Our surface human eyes, and all our scientific instruments, are made of matter in this dimension; and, thus, they do not directly interact with higher dimensional matter, and, for that reason, cannot perceive or directly detect the presence of higher planes, or higher-dimensional matter.

The human, however, is himself a multi-dimensional being, with bodies in various material dimensions, the surface body being but a body in this material dimension. Thus, he carries, within himself, a latent ability to see and perceive things of higher realms. An innate potential of the human which allows him to transcend, to directly comprehend the physical Cosmos, is spoken of in all traditions.

Such thought, of a hierarchy of dimensions, is in fact present in traditions around the world - from theories of Socrates and Plato to Chinese, Indian and Mayan traditions. In spiritual traditions, such as the Buddhist, such planes were referred to with terminology such as realms of Heavens.

Understanding Axioms Before we let our world-view be limited by what we think of are “truths of science,” we need to thoroughly understand what science itself is.

Science, and all its theories, are but a framework built on what we perceive are axiomatic truths. Notions of our mind, which seems to us are “self-evident truths.” Our very perception that 1+1 gives 2 is but a mere notion, of a particular plane of thinking, arising from how our mind is materially constituted. Let’s measure the perception against objective physical reality: According to special relativity, when adding velocities, the notion 1+1=2 does not hold. In quantum mechanics, multiple physical wave functions overlap forming a single system – again, in objective physical reality, 1+1=2 seems to play no role.

Science, however, builds itself on such a set of notions – a set of perceptions of a state of human thinking, of a realm of human thinking. Any theory built on such a set of axioms is limited, in the expanse of phenomenon it can model, to a framework created by the perceptions of that surface state of the human mind.

Theories and Models Theories are but models we come up with to explain phenomenon. The word theory derives from the Greek word theoria, meaning to see, perceive, a view.

Our current theoretical models, in fact, are extremely limited in their ability to explain observed reality. We still cannot explain why galaxies rotate as solid disks, at extreme contradiction with our theory of gravity; we know of no force that could account for the observation that the rate of expansion of the Cosmos is increasing. Not just physics, but from medicine to biology the mysteries science has not been able to penetrate are many.

Homeopathy, for instance, cannot possibly work if we look at it from the perspective of Avagadro’s theory. But from a boarder, more encompassing theory, as Quantum Mechanics, some scientists have suggested mechanisms which could explain how homeopathic medicines work in apparent “super-molecular dilutions.”

Science is to be understood as a tool for understanding reality, a set of models which we must constantly reanalyze and re-perfect – absolutely not a set of immutable facts to live by, and to measure all observed phenomenon by. It is not that phenomenon that cannot be explained by present day science need to shoved aside as “superstitious,” but that we must open mindedly observe nature, take a careful at our theories, and improve upon them to account for observed phenomenon.

Anthropology and Evolution

Much as the theory that we are but an extension of a flesh brain interpreting reality, another cornerstone of present-day science is that we evolved from the ape just a few hundred thousand years back.

Within the scientific community itself, the notions of anthropology spread in mainstream as truths are being increasingly challenged. Countless artifacts often referred to as OOP-Arts, have been found which clearly are products of human intelligence but would not fit into the present day theory of evolution or anthropology (hence called Out Of Place). This has lead many researchers to speculate that there have been cycles of civilization in which man reached technological peaks and then suffered major catastrophes that threw civilization back to a primitive state.

Scale models of airplanes dating to the pre-Columbian period, architectural anomalies which still to-date do not allow for explanations as to how they could have been built, remnants of cities found underwater, anomalous artifacts discovered around the world, all should inspire a fresh look at our world.

The interested reader will find a lot of material online and in the interesting NBC documentary “The Mysterious Origins of Man.” Traditional thought, be it Indian, or Chinese, or Plato’s Atlantis, all held that human society evolves in cycles.

Mankind and Science Recently, in The Epoch Times, I came across an article which reported that “For the first time, scientists have isolated pure air particles of nearly pre-industrial conditions.” If we have been irreversibly polluting the very world we live in, in pursuit of quick “progress,” is this paradigm truly marching us on a path of progress?

Another news article speaks of RFID tags being made mandatory in some Japanese Schools to ensure discipline; an Associates Press article reports that similar tags as are used on farm animals are being made mandatory in an American school. Plans for unique IDs for all citizens are underway in many countries, including India. The next natural step to such a process, in this path of development, is obviously bionics. Implants which will be used to indentify us, trace locations, ensure security, aid people with medical disorders, improve productivity at work, aid decision making, and so on.

The paradigm of understanding from within which we are seeking solutions – be it criminology or medicine or education – is marching us into a more and more mechanized social structure, where human moral dignity, mutual trust, freedom, and abilities all make way to the machine’s decision. It is this very paradigm we live to push forward each day, working as bolts in a larger machine that is marching humanity to a state where everything human – from trust to values of the heart – become increasingly alien to us, as we lean more and more on technology.

Traditional sciences hold that plants and different types of food have properties at different realms. Its qi, its essence, all have an impact on the human body. Genetically modified food lacks in such aspects and we are coming to discover that they are harmful to health, in many ways. Meat of cloned animals and their descendents are already in the supermarkets. It may not be far before a majority of food we eat are genetically modified or cloned.

Such tinkering with nature seems safe to the scientist in his limited single-dimensional paradigm, which ignores that plants and animals have a nature(as qi for instance, that is referred to in traditional Chinese medicine) that transcends material properties of this plane, a nature that is lost when we mess with it.

There are alternate paths of progress, where a fundamental evolution of the human and his abilities is given focus to, and in some ancient cycles of civilization the paths of progress taken leaned more towards such a paradigm.

Traditions and Science Today’s technology-oriented science has increasingly presented itself as an omniscient entity, as man’s savior – textbooks paint a picture of history where with science came man’s freedom; an age where man knew nothing, and an era of emergence of this technological science that led to man being freed from his superstitious beliefs.

What’s of concern is how far we deviate from objective reality when trumpeting the glory of modern science in such terms. I remember being taught in school, again for Figure 2. absolute fact, and forced to repeat it as such, lest I fall back in grade points, that alchemy was the precursor of chemistry. Alchemists, I was told, were essentially primitives who did not understand science, greedy folks who attempted to transmute lead to gold – the predecessors of modern chemists.

If we pull our head out of the chemistry text-book and take a look at what alchemy was, it quickly becomes obvious that it had nothing to do with chemistry but was a profound system of philosophy that aimed at perfection of the man, achieving an objective understanding of the Cosmos, and often symbolism was used in their writings and references were made to the elements, transmutation, etc. The science had as much to do with chemistry as the ancient Chinese texts of spiritual alchemy had; or the concept of dan in Chinese traditions had to do with mercuric suifide. The science of Alchemy, like many traditions in the east, dealt with self perfection – transmutation of the lead (the grosser human self) to gold – a pursuit of spiritual perfection.

Traditions spoke of dimensional realms of the Cosmos in which the physical plane of man and earth is, apparently, from a perspective, at a central position in the heavenly hierarchies. This idea, found in all traditions from Greek to Indian and Chinese, was later distorted to a simplistic belief that the stars and the planets Figure 3. rotate around the Earth.

Galileo was persecuted by the then Church for pointing out their wrong perceptions and him labeled as attacking the Bible. Today’s science has fallen into a similar paradigm with a set of beliefs as the theory of evolution being adamantly held up, all those who question which are labeled ignorant, of backward thought, attacked, and thrown out of academic circles.

This blind faith in today’s science, rooted in a simplistic education, is not leading us to a state of freedom but to a state where man is without trust in man, is fundamentally destroying himself and the very planet he is living on, and working hard to chain himself down to state of absolute dependence on a set of machines. To quote Goethe, “None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.”

Forms, Art, and Noble Pursuits A greater loss, perhaps, is that with the advent of this paradigm of science, and the notion, to quote Byron, that man is but a “jar of atoms,” we have lost the very understanding that there is deeper Goodness in the human, and a higher potential latent in him. Most that go through such an education are quick to abandon the very idea that there could be a higher goal to human existence, or that man is fundamentally a moral being.

In periods when traditional morality, values, and thought drove human conduct and pursuits, the art that sprung forth from such a state of society was one that had an impact of making the human fundamentally evolve. Its impact on the mind was objectively good and men’s thought and minds soared under the influence of such art.

Music was understood by the ancient Greeks as capable of purifying the mind; the ancient Chinese understood it as capturing the Cosmos in its evolution. What’s interesting is that the very musical scale was distorted with the advent of science – the whole number ratios of the notes which the Pythagoreans and the Chinese understood as capable of capturing the Cosmos in its evolution, gave way to a scale based on division into equal intervals. That music could capture higher truths, or that deeper meaning resided in the whole number ratios of the notes, were dismissed as superstitious.

Ancient Chinese held that the best judge of a people was the kind of music they enjoy, and if one note was out of place, it could be said that the society had degenerated in a particular aspect. Now all music is composed on a scale where every note is out of place.

Lyrics that were set to music in the time of Beethoven and Schiller captured divine thoughts, the innate goodness of man, of brotherhood, thoughts which inspired man to a state of perfection, and the music played a similar role. In a society where the man is “freed” by science of his inner nature and traditional thoughts, the music is dissonant, the words set to music, and thus influencing society at large, are often the worst thoughts the human is capable of.

Architecture, it was understood by the ancients, played a profound role in human wellbeing. The Greeks compared architectural forms of their buildings with the modes of their music. Even today some speak of experiencing, at sites as the Parthenon, a sense of peace, which continues to linger for days.

Architecture as today, of the sky scrapers and the office buildings drive man into a mechanical, machine-like mode of thinking, numbing down his faculties and his nature. All traditional architectural forms – be it the lofty European palace, or the humble traditional cottage, has, on the other hand, a calming and elevating effect on the human mind.

It seems men had achieved higher realms of thought, culture, had achieved a higher, more objective understanding of the Cosmos, and had social structures which allowed a greater freedom to pursue self-perfection, and live with a higher sense of human dignity than we currently hold in our technology-molded culture.
