DAY 12
We got the ball rolling with the participants going through evaluations from the previous day facilitated by Amon Mulyowa. He thereafter began the morning session about contraception. Dr Denis Rogers Buwembo joined in later and delved right into sharing the medical perspective of the topic. After the tea break, Evelyn Namara wowed the participants with an interactive session on personal branding. Lastly there was a session by the RAHU ambassadors and cultural icons, Ronnie McVex, Toniks and Geo Steady who gave insights about their career journeys to wrap up the day.
Given the fact that the peer educators will mostly interact with an age group that uses contraceptives, we had Mariam

Mugambi facilitating a session on contraception. She discussed the several contraceptive options including their disadvantages and advantages amongst a host of other details. Mariam noted that some communities the class would engage with may not be using contraceptives at all, and provided skills to enable the participants to advocate for change in that behavior. We then had a motivating entrepreneurship talk from Maxima Nsimenta- CEO Livara cosmetics, drawing relatable lessons from her rich business experience. She concluded by urging the class to figure out how to make their passions money-making ventures
DAY 13 On this day the class had their very first outdoor session, visiting five of our partner organisations in small different groups for practical life experiences in the work environment. The organisations visited were Wakisa Ministries, Straight Talk Foundation, DSW Uganda, Naguru Teenage Centre and Uganda Industrial Research Institute. The day was wrapped up with a combined visit to the Bwaise-based AFFCAD in the afternoon, where the founder Kisirisa Mohammed called upon the participants to make an effort to understand slum dwellers lives so as to ably impact change among them.
Photoshoot & Barbeque
The intensity of the academy was very evident on this day. The facilitator tackled the topic of STDs and STIs, discussing in detail, showing the class signs, symptoms and extreme conditions with photographic evidence. She also gave tips on how to help people with the diseases who may be afraid of talking about their condition. The session then moved to a very delicate topic concerning the relationship between sexuality and religion, to which the motivational speaker Dr Christine Mpyangu delivered strong points on how the two need to be understood mutually for the good of all. The final gear came through a 30-minute talk with successful business owner Dr Maggie Kigozi, who harnessed the class’ knowledge on starting and managing businesses, which was well appreciated by the participants, bringing an end to arguably our busiest day of the academy.
After the usual evaluations from the previous day led facilitated by Amon Mulyowa. We had a session on community dialogues led by Innocent Nabaasa the team leader Fabs Productions with her team. After the tea break, Awel Uwiyanganye facilitated an interactive session on leadership skills followed by William Bakkabulide from ProLine Fc who discussed personality identification and traits to wrap up the day

DAY 15
DAY 14
Oh yeah, we couldn’t forget this one. Saturday had all peer educators at our offices for the first team bonding activity with the staff. We had an amazing day where they were engaged in a photoshoot to get photos that we will be using in 2017 on our campaigns and online communications. We wrapped this up with a barbeque at office. Cool stuff, isn’t it?
