Learner Support Fund
If you are a parent and aged under 20 when you start your course you could be entitled to financial help with your childcare and travel costs while you learn. To find out more speak to our advisers or visit the Care to Learn website at direct.gov.uk/caretolearn.
We have a financial support fund specifically aimed at those Home/EU students who are on a low household income or an income-based benefit and may have significant difficulty meeting the costs they incur whilst studying.
Professional and Career Development Loan
Please call us for details and an application form. Please note that help from this fund is not guaranteed. Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis subject to fund availability so early application is recommended.
A Professional and Career Development Loan could help you pay for learning that enhances your job skills or career prospects. It’s a bank loan, so you’ll have to pay it back once you’ve left your course, however, you don’t pay interest for the period when you’re in learning. For more information call the helpline on 0800 100 900 or visit direct.gov.uk/pcdl
