If you’ve ever wondered about the culture of Fiji you are about to have your dreams answered. Fiji consists of 332 amazing islands. Fiji’s highest point is called Tomanivi. The majority of Fiji’s population is Christian (64.5%) and Hindu (27.9%). Fiji has many natural resources, such as timber, seafood, gold, and copper.

Fiji consists of 332 islands located in the southwest Pacific Ocean about 1,960 miles away from Sydney, Africa. The 2 largest islands of them all are Viti Levu (4,109 sq. mi.) and Vanua Levu (2,242 sq. mi.). 110 of Fiji’s islands are inhabited. Believe it or not almost half of Fiji’s population settles in the town of Suva (85,691 people). Suva has an area of 790.5 sq. mi. It’s also Fiji’s capital and their largest city.

Fiji’s highest point is the grand Tomanivi. Fiji’s highest point reaches the amazing heights of 4,340 feet tall (1,324 meters). Compare that to their lowest point the Pacific Ocean reaching 0 meters. Fiji was formed by huge ancient volcanoes. Wow!!! Fiji was founded by European settlers in 1820. In all, these are all amazing physical features in this country.

Fiji’s religion is mostly Christian and Hindu. Hindustani and English are Fiji’s two official languages. Also, in 1969 the Fijian pound was replaced by the Fijian dollar at the rate of I pound=2 dollars. Education is compulsory and free until the age of 16. Fiji’s climate is tropical with heavy rainfall between December and April, and May through November is tropical cyclone season.

Lastly, some of Fiji’s exports are sugar, garments, gold, timber, fish, molasses, and coconut oil. Fiji was an important supply station for the allies in World War II. Also, Fiji’s government is republic. Fiji had been inhabited since the second millennium b.c., explored by Dutch and British in the 17th and 18th centuries. Fiji has wonderful weather and climate. The best months of Fiji are March through November. Those months have the warmest climate. Fiji has a large amount of rainfall. The average for their rainfall is 2000mm to 3000mm a year. Fiji only has a little seasonal temperature change, and also has a very tropical marine. Over all Fiji has a warm and wonderful climate.

Fiji has magnificent landforms, beaches, and oceans. The size of Fiji is an approximant square feet of 18,270. (The main island) Fiji is in the South Pacific Ocean. The flats of Fiji are covered with swamps, but the rest are mountainous landforms. Over all, Fiji has the most wonderful, natural landforms.

Fiji has many wonderful islands, cities, and towns. The country of Fiji has more than 800 islands total, but only 320 some islands are habitable. Most of the islands of Fiji consist a lava build up from all of the volcanic eruptions. Some of the islands they have are very small, so they are hard to see on map. Fiji has many towns, but their capitol is huge, it is Suva. Over all, Fiji has many beautiful islands and is surrounded by beautiful islands.

Over all, Fiji is an amazing island and has amazing features. Fiji has great weather and climate. Fiji has very different landforms and beautiful landforms that have the most eye catching views. Fiji has a magnificent amount of islands and cities. Fiji over all is a great country and has great features.

Fijians work very hard on cooking their food and have some unique ways of making their food taste they want to. During their festivals they use things like underground ovens and fruits you have never heard of before. The food you eat everyday is probably very different than you eat. Also, they are very popular. Some of the food have to adapt to their climate because otherwise the food will have have to be specially kept. The woman in Fiji work so hard to make the food for their family.

Fiji has great food on the table everyday especially on special days like festivals. They use very cool things to make their food turn out that way. Something that makes their meat, fish, and vegetables is a lavo. A lavo is an underground oven. During festivals they have food like rice, vakalolo, coconut, and sugar cane. In festivals, lots of people come so their food has to be delicious that is why they work so hard on their food.

The climate makes a big difference in the food so they have to make things according to the weather. One of Fiji’s foods that do very good in their climate is coconut. They make many of their foods with coconut like one of their desserts called Vakalola. Some of the foods that are in Vakalola are Cassava, Ginger, Coconut, and Sugar. All of the different foods in Vakalola have to be able to not get rotten outside in a long period of time.


The people in Fiji are so good at coking as you can already probably tell. In most cases, the woman cook in the family. They cook so many different things that they don’t even have to measure their ingredients. For festivals, lots of people come so the food has to be very good. Fijians are very good at cooking and so talented too. Men and the woman are both talented.

Even thought they cook many different meals they also have their favorites. One of their favorites is rice and is probably traditional to many families. In Fiji Beer and Wine are produced locally. Vakalolo is one of their favorites desserts that has coconut, cassava, ginger, and sugar in it. All of these foods come together to make great feasts at the table every day.

Fiji Clothing gives the complete description of this beautiful country and its lifestyle. Fiji is climatically very soothing as it has tropical climate and moderate temperatures so the Fiji clothing is itself very cool and light.

What is traditional clothing in Fiji? Traditional Fiji Clothing is known as "Sulu" and it's very handy and is quite similar to Pareau or Sarong. One dress can be worn at least in ten different forms and are worn by both men and women. The material is very light and Fiji men wear these skirts to schools, events, and workplace and also prefer them on special occasions. Women mostly wear skirts and the elder ladies prefer floor length skirts. Short length skirts and dresses are the choice of the young ladies.

The types of materials Fijians use to make their clothes are home grown. They usually use Tapa cloth, Cotton, and Bamboo. What the Tapa cloth is the bark of trees grown in the Pacific islands such as Fiji. Bamboo cloth is made of the fibrous insides of the Bamboo stalk. Cotton is made out of Cotton plant flowers. Then the cotton is dried, dyed, and woven together tightly.

In conclusion, you should go to Fiji buy some cloths, and buy some delicious Fiji water. You should do this because the clothing in Fiji is very light, inexpensive, and is locally made.
