Kenya has lots of sports and great athletes. Did you know that their country has won 32 Olympic medals? Soccer is their most popular sport, and fans come from all over the world. Car racing, cricket, and wrestling have become popular sports in Kenya.
Basketball has become Kenya’s fastest growing sport. Dhow racing is held around the island of Lamu. Hiking has become a popular choice in the mountain areas.
The national woman’s volleyball team established itself as the top team in the continent. Joshiphine Owino became the first Kenyan women to be drafted to the WNBA. In rugby, Kenya has taken its place amongst the top 5 teams in the IRB sevens series.
Conjestina Acheing became the first women to hold a world title in professional boxing. Kenyans won about 90% of the major city marathons. That’s great! Dickson Wamwiri became the first Kenyan man to win a gold medal in martial arts.
Kenya’s diet has lots of varieties of food. From fruit to even zebra. Even though their country is very poor, they are able to have their own economy because all of the rich farming soil. Did you know that Kenya is one of the leading exporters of tea?
Tropical fruit is an important part of the Kenyan diet. This fruit is commonly served for breakfast. Another healthy Kenyan people do, is cook with grains and vegetables a lot of the time.
Meat is also very important part of the Kenyan diet. At the typical Kenyan festive meals, they have lots of roasted meat. The most commonly eaten meat is either goat or sheep. Another commonly eaten meat is chicken.
A snack that is the most commonly eaten in Kenya is mandaazi. Mandaazi is snack that is sweet and deep fried. A dough cake is wrapped around a pancake, fried eggs, and minced meat.
Kenya has lots of animals. A lot of people in Kenya live on farms and raise animals. Crowed Crain live in Kenya and have lots of fur. Superb Starling lives in Kenya and live in the forest.
Donkeys live in Kenya and they walk through town. Rhinos live in Kenya and are one of the biggest animals. There are a lot of verities of animals in Kenya.
Lots and lots of spiders live in Kenya and most spiders are poisonous. Most animals that live in Kenya, get killed by their predators. For some people hunting, it is very fun because there is so many animals.
Most people in Kenya have animals for pets. They have cows for pets, so do I. Elephants and lions live in the Kenya area.
