German food Other nations and people very immensely influence German food. The influences come from all over world. Such places like Russia and Hungry. They have influenced their food mostly from World War II because that’s when the Allis (USA, Great Brittan and Russia) defeated the Nazis in 1945 in Germany.

Meat is the most popular dish in Germany. Germans eat most common fish, along with salmon. Sausage is made in about 1,500 different varieties! In Germany vegetables are mostly served in stews side dishes and casseroles. Potatoes are one of the most important foods in German culture, there they eat around 150 lbs. of them a year. Bread is a very big part in German food. They have it all day and devote some time for bread based meals! They are also 1,500 types of bread that Germans can access. At festivals Germans more commonly eaten as pretzels and mini- bread, as for the common time of the year, the most common type of bread is roggenbrot, a mixture of rye and wheat. Did you ever think of where our holidays come from? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter started in Germany. Most of the stories we here about Thanksgiving are fake. Most of our traditions were also brought over by immigrants and some brought over by fighting American soldiers. Most were brought over by our ancestors.
Christmas Christmas in Germany has been celebrated since the 1600’s and is still celebrated today. Preparations usually begin around December 6 th and on the 25 th Weihnachtsmann comes and delivers gifts to sleeping children close to the Christmas in America.
Easter in Germany Easter in Germany is usually celebrated in April. Easter is one of the most important holidays in Germany. Germans decorate stores, hoses, and almost anything that can be decorated. So, most of our traditions and holidays actually started in Germany.

Since 1908 Germans have been avid football fans. Germans football is not the same football we are use to it is our soccer. As early as 1900 ice hockey has been a sport in Germany. In Berlin the Berliner Schittschuh club created its own department in ice hockey. After World War II Germany was band from almost all sports until late 1950 except ice hockey. Wail almost all the other sports were on band Germany won the bronze medal for ice hockey in 1932 with their star player Rudi Ball.
