This is Not Your Grandad’s Garage In 1930, when Pete Youngblood started up Fletcher Motors, a traditional garage to service cars in Fletcher, North Carolina, he could never have imagined his granddaughter would someday open up a new spin on his garage almost 100 years later. But that’s what has happened in the small, mountain town nestled between Hendersonville and Asheville. Kaye Youngblood, along with her three business partners, Lisa Preston Clark, Ellen Schwab and Susan Brady have taken 6,000 square feet and created an artisan community called The Garage on 25. The four partners are all local gals from Western North Carolina and have a passion for vintage, repurposed, retro and cool stuff.
creations. These artists make everything from handmade furniture, leather journals, lighting, jewelry, original art and more. Each vendor is committed to the art of designing, building, creating and recycling. “Our vendors embody the very best in custom design and fine, handcrafted pieces” commented Susan Brady. Owners of everything from luxury homes to rustic cabins have found what they are looking for at The Garage on 25. The wide variety of styles covering vintage, antiques, shabby, rustic and high end traditional are available to all those in search of just the right piece. “We’ve worked with people furnishing homes, setting up B&B’s and even filling cabin rentals with just the right look” quoted Ellen Schwab.
“I remember how proud my granddad was of his work at the garage” Youngblood said “and I wanted to be a part of creating a space in Fletcher where artists could showcase their work and feel that same sense of pride”. The four partners host over 65 vendors and showcase their hard work and
But the excitement of what is going on here is not just being contained strictly within the walls of the interior. According to Lisa Preston Clark, “The Garage on 25 will be hosting Vintage Hendo, in May, which will consist of an outdoor marketplace with

vendors, food trucks and live music”. “Garage Sales” will also take place on the grounds this summer and if unique and out of the box ideas are what you’re looking for, the Garage on 25 is your place. Each month you can look for some fun, quirky event such as at Christmas time when the Garage offered a photo booth in front of the store in the form of a decorated vintage Shasta Travel Camper for anyone looking for a unique Christmas portrait at no charge. Connected to the Garage on 25 is the Coffee Garage. An independent coffee shop owned by Stephen & Tippi
Mace and Youngblood. Decorated by remnants from her granddad’s garage, customers can sit and relax amongst old gas pumps and industrial furniture made from car grills and truck tailgates. The shop serves up delicious, local baked goods and roasted coffee by Ingenious Coffee Roasters out of Marion, NC. At night the coffee shop is rented out for art classes, lectures, jam sessions and open mic nights. Rentals for private parties are also available. And just as the old service department at Fletcher Motors became a place for people to gather and discuss the interests of the day, the Coffee Garage has become a local hang out for community members to conduct business, relax, meet up with friends or have a dang, good cup of coffee. Stephen and Tippi will take care of you and make you feel welcome immediately upon entering The Coffee Garage.
“We’ve worked with people furnishing homes, setting up B&B’s and even filling cabin rentals with just the right look”
As the town of Fletcher continues to grow, The Garage on 25 is a welcomed addition to the community. Stefanie Bonham posted on Facebook after her first visit, “I love this
place! Just what our area needed! I love supporting local and the shop layout is beautiful. As you plan the decor for your new home or want to spruce things up at an already established one, it is well worth your time to visit The Garage on 25. The warm welcome, cool merchandise and overall wonderful atmosphere will win you over quickly. Rest assured,
visiting The Garage on 25 will charge your batteries and help give your home that much needed tune up you’re looking for! The Garage on 25 and The Coffee Garage are located in Fletcher, NC at 3461 Hendersonville Road. On Facebook: The Garage on 25 and The Coffee Garage on 25.

The beautiful astonishment of Spring at the NC Arboretum By Colleen Watson
Spring came early in western North Carolina before winter, in its final throes of the season, took back control. The blossoms of spring were unsure about timing, but at the North Carolina Arboretum, you can find beauty in any season. 48 Fine Homes & Design | Spring 2017
This spring finds many activities designed to get you out of the house and back into nature! The grounds are replete with hiking and biking trails, gardens, exhibits at the Education Center and the Baker Exhibit Center and Greenhouse (as well as in the gardens themselves), and a myriad of events for all ages. The NC Arboretum was established in 1986 and is an affiliate campus of the University of North Carolina. The 434-acre public garden is located just south of Asheville inside the Pisgah National Forest, one of the most beautiful natural settings in America. With its forested coves and meandering creeks, its beauty speaks to our very soul. The NC Arboretum includes 60 acres of cultivated gardens and more than 10 miles of groomed hiking and biking trails. Events bring the outdoors inside and change throughout the year. Spring is an exciting time at the Arboretum, with its seasonal landscape garden exhibits that run from April through October. It’s also a particularly beautiful time of year with the amazing colors of springtime in the ever-changing variety of spring flowers and the budding new leaves.
The Arboretum continues to provide innovative educational activities and events and spring is one of the busiest seasons. “We are excited about the new garden offerings and exhibits coming to the Arboretum this spring,” said George Briggs, the NC Arboretum’s executive director. “In nature, new growth often leads to new opportunities for plants and animals. With these additions, we hope we can continue to grow our mission of connecting people with plants, and provide more opportunities to educate our visitors, members and students.” On April 29 and 30, the Arboretum is hosting its 58th Annual Rhododendron & Azalea Flower Show. Presented by the Southeast Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, this judged event features hundreds of Rhododendron and Azalea blooms. The show runs from 12 noon until 5 PM each day, with a guided trail walk on both days beginning at 1 PM. The walk takes you along Bent Creek to the Azalea Garden to view the Arboretum’s National Native Azalea Collection. With the early spring weather, the Azalea’s may have bloomed early, but there still should be blossoms and color at the end of April. Spring 2017 | Fine Homes & Design 49
Running through July 9, #themountainsarecalling is an exhibit by local photographer Camilla Calnan. Camilla focuses on the diversity and uniqueness of WNC ecosystems. Her images, located in the Education Center, capture the beauty and creativity found in nature. A wonderful outing for the kids is the Rocky Cove Railroad Exhibit. Running through October on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 – 4 PM, this G-Scale (garden scale) model train demonstrates the coming of trains to western North Carolina at the turn of the 20th century. The exhibit is located below the Grand Promenade, but please note that it does not operate in rainy or wet conditions. Naturally, environmental issues are a concern and this season the Arboretum is focusing on butterflies in its continuing effort to raise awareness for pollinators. Its seasonal garden exhibits feature many plants and flowers that attract and support butterflies, and its signature Quilt Garden is designed in a butterfly quilt block pattern. The Forest Meadow garden has added several new butterfly-focused plantings and includes

interpretive signage about butterflies and other pollinators. Beginning May 13 and continuing throughout the summer, you can see the “miracle of metamorphosis” in the Baker Exhibit Center Greenhouse. Winged Wonders is a new indoor butterfly experience that will feature a butterfly nursery and walk-through butterfly house where a variety of local species, including monarchs and swallowtails fly free. Coinciding with this exhibit, a new metal sculpture entitled “Life of the Monarch” will be unveiled in the Forest Meadow. Created by Waynesville NC artist, Grace Cathey, the sculpture is a colorful, upright kaleidoscope design featuring the different stages of the life cycle of the monarch butterfly. The 7th annual World Bonsai Day also kicks off on May 13 at 10 AM. This internationally celebrated event is dedicated to furthering bonsai awareness and appreciation world-wide. A full collection of bonsai will be on display and the Arboretum’s curator will provide a guided tour of the garden.

May 13 is a busy day at the Arboretum, as it also celebrates the spring season with its Nature Play Day. Starting at 10 AM, this event is designed to get kids outside where they can explore and enjoy a wide variety of activities such as building fairy houses and gnome homes.
plants to make the handmade papers she incorporates into her paintings. Ms Ellison has exhibited and sold her work throughout the US for more than 30 years. The Elizabeth Ellison Gallery is located in Bryson City NC. A native of Milton NC, Ms Ellison is of Occaneechi Indian descent.
Nearly a century before the NC Arboretum was founded, Frederick Law Olmsted, considered the father of American landscape architecture, was in the process of designing the grounds and gardens for George Vanderbilt II’s country estate. Opening May 27 and running through September 4, a Spirit of Place will be on display inside the Baker Exhibit Center. This exhibit features the artwork of painter and papermaker Elizabeth Ellison. Ms Ellison utilizes both traditional and oriental techniques, and often employs American Indian motifs, to depict the varied wildflowers, animals, human inhabitants and landscapes of the Smokies region and beyond. She frequently gathers and processes native Appalachian 52 Fine Homes & Design | Spring 2017
In addition to the exhibits and events, many people come to hike or bike the trails, which are designed for all ages and ability levels. Trail options include easy, moderate and difficult levels and are dog-friendly. From the many trails within the Arboretum, hikers have access to other areas such as Lake Powhatan, the Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Visitors can also take advantage of the Guided Forest Trail Walks, which take place on Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning at 1 PM at the Baker Exhibit Center. Trained volunteer guides lead small groups
along woodland trails, identifying plants and trees and discussing wildflowers, natural history, and the cultural and land use history of the NC Arboretum. These walks are held rain or shine and last between 1.5 to 2.5 hours and are approximately one to two miles in length. (Pre-registration is required for groups of five or more and is highly recommended for others.) The term Arboretum was coined by landscape gardener and writer John Loudon in 1833, but the establishment of botanically significant collections dates back to the Egyptian Pharaohs. Intended for scientific study, one of the main aims of Arboretums is to conserve native and indigenous trees. The NC Arboretum is part of the Bent Creek Experimental Forest, a system of 80 Experimental Forests and Ranges that are administered by the US Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The system provides opportunities for long-term science and management studies, which supplies a wealth of data and knowledge of environmental changes in both natural and managed forest and rangeland ecosystems throughout the US. As part of the Experimental Forest system, the NC Arboretum supports ecosystem research and helps the Forest Service and other entities meet current and future conservation challenges through the synthesis of data. Over the years, many major discoveries have resulted from the research collected from Experimental Forests and Ranges. For example, based on long-term precipitation chemistry data at a New Hampshire Experimental Forest, scientists were able to recognize the effects of acid rain on vegetation. And, in the Pacific Northwest, research helped set the stage for conservation planning for the northern spotted owl. Nearly a century before the NC Arboretum was founded, Frederick Law Olmsted, considered the father of American landscape architecture, was in the pro-
cess of designing the grounds and gardens for George Vanderbilt II’s country estate. During that time, Mr Olmsted envisioned a research arboretum as part of his legacy and plan for the Biltmore Estate, which was the first professionally managed forest in the US. This spring, the NC Arboretum has been busy adding garden enhancements and a variety of facility upgrades. In addition to newly renovated restroom facilities in the Education Center, visitors will find a new front gate system installed to help provide faster access for visitors and member cardholders. To adhere to its commitment to the environment, nearly all indoor lighting fixtures now use LED bulbs, which use 80% less energy than conventional lights, and a majority of the outdoor lighting has been converted as well. The Arboretum is also adding six more call boxes along the trails to help bikers and hikers communicate directly with campus police should a problem or need arise. The NC Arboretum does not charge a per person admission fee, only a parking fee. To sustain the upgrades and create opportunities for future enhancements and jobs, the Arboretum has increased its basic per vehicle parking fee by $2. Parking rates for personal vehicles are now $14. The Arboretum offers a half-price parking special the first Tuesday of every month for personal vehicles. Access into the property is free for pedestrians, bikers and members of the NC Arboretum Society. The Arboretum is open to the public with spring and summer (April through October) hours from 8 AM – 9 PM, with the entrance gate closing at 8 PM. The Bonsai Exhibition Garden is open from 9 AM – 5 PM daily. For more information on the Arboretum, visit www.ncarboretum.org Spring 2017 | Fine Homes & Design 53

Natural Landscaping: The Elegance of Western North Carolina. By Snow Creek Landscaping Arden, North Carolina
For over 27 years, we have been working with our clients on developing landscapes that embrace their personal needs, as well as what is best for the property and surrounding environment. The area of Western North Carolina offers it’s own geographical uniqueness, one of elegance and beauty. It’s those ecological characteristics of this area which led to the growth of our company, and is the backbone of who we are today. For us, natural landscaping can also be looked at as a spectrum. Think of one end of the spectrum as a land that will grow and develop into what resembles an untouched landscape. Overtime, it will cycle through stages that can only be replicated by letting nature take its course.
The opposite side of that would be one that completely manipulates the land to show no signs of native species or geographical characteristics specific to that region. When choosing to incorporate native plant communities into their landscape, one must have an understanding of how those species work together with the geographical features of the land. The slopes of a mountain side would have different plant characteristics than that of a flatter valley location. All are equally important to the ecosystem, as well as you as a homeowner. Natural landscaping is way to incorporate native plants and geological features in a way that mimics the ecological characteristics of pre-settlers. It’s utilizing the plants that have thrived in this region and applying that to a functional landscape design that is environmentally conscious, low maintenance, and aesthetically pleasing. Environmentally Conscious Utilizing native plants on your property has multiple benefits. From an environmental perspective, they fit perfectly into the ecosystem of that area. They have been evolving with those particular insects, animals, and other geographical features for thousands of years.
62 Fine Homes & Design | Spring 2017
Native plants allow for the success of pollinators, birds and other animals in the area who have adapted to thrive off those regional plants. Birds, for example, utilize certain shrubs and trees of native plants to stay safe from predators, while at the same time use certain plants as a nutritional supplier with either the plant berries or the insects that prefer the native plant as well. Hummingbirds are provided a significantly more amount of nectar from native plants of the region in comparison to non-native or hybrids to the area. The roots of many plants from this region are deep and can absorb extra rain water. As a property owner, this is vital to help run off from working against your home foundation or surrounding properties. For the rivers and streams, those plants help provide a filter which can then supply clean water for our community. Finding the optimal balance between functional areas, such as turf and places of high use, and spaces for untouched native plant growth can reduce your carbon footprint. Letting nature take it’s course means less work and resources. Low Maintenance Think of it this way, if a native plant is thriving and filling up the space provided, then there is less room for weeds and other plants to grow. Understanding the land and what plants can be successful there will allow for easy maintenance down the road. Top: Finding the perfect balance between functionality and the natural land can create a perfect atmosphere. Middle: Creating rain gardens can help with the flow of drainage, protecting your foundation and your neighborhood. Bottom: Northern Maidenhair Ferns can thrive in shady areas, allowing less maintenance.
For example, in shady areas that need plants that grow in low light, certain native shade plants will thrive and need less attention. Species such as the Northern Maidenhair Ferns are beautiful plants that can grow up to 2 feet with long lacy fronds, which creates less space for additional growth and therefore needs less maintenance over time. Using a more natural landscape with native plants will require less time, money and energy in maintaining the flow of the land. Aesthetically Pleasing In creating an individualized landscape, it is important that it is aesthetically appealing to the people who living there. We are an advocate of utilizing your natural surrounding, so functionality and aesthetics are incredibly important. If you don’t want to spend time in your landscape, or enjoy it, than it can’t benefit you to the fullest. Many people often think that native plants aren’t going to provide them the aesthetics they are looking for or they will be full of weeds. Nothing could be further than the truth! In fact, by using plants that thrive in this area, you can plan out a landscape that provides color and beauty all year long. When you are taking on the journey of utilizing a more natural landscape, you are finding the perfect harmony between functionality and the natural world around you.

Asheville and “Eco-Tourism” By Ted Carter and Calen Rayne
One of Asheville’s most important tourist attractions, in addition to craft breweries, boutique shopping, art, music, and a vibrant restaurant scene, is its location, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering an abundance of opportunities to experience nature. At times the shoppers and foodies are joined by a totally different group, what some refer to as “eco-tourists.” Eco-tourists arrive to hike mountain trails, zip line through trees, raft down rivers, fish, kayak, explore the Blue Ridge Parkway, and hopefully experience a brief respite from their daily routine. For some visitors, it offers quiet time and maybe a chance to give their electronic devices a short, but well deserved rest. Regardless of someone’s reason to visit Asheville, they cannot avoid interacting with her natural surroundings. That gives nature an opportunity to engage with them, and bring a subtle message of a desire for interaction. According to Paul Deveraux, what’s required now is a reinstatement of an “ancient sense of our relationship with nature.” He 84 Fine Homes & Design | Spring 2017
posits that in an eco-physiological sense, it’s the mind that needs healing, and modern mentors and therapists use nature to accomplish that, reflecting a nod to old times. Yaqui shaman Lench Archuleta, for example, takes clients into the Arizona desert to “get their spirits back,” stressing quiet, contemplation, and time spent alone in nature. One of the first things he does is make people take their shoes off and wiggle their toes in the earth. Archuleta believes “they’ve lost that connection to Mother Earth and they need to get it back. It usually takes a day or two to detox from the stress they left behind. Once they get used to the quiet, things begin to open up in them. They become alert in ways they did not know they can be. That’s because being in nature gently forces you to use your five senses.” It’s a simple thing—to take your shoes off—but it’s also very powerful. It makes you keenly aware of how different the earth feels on your skin. We walk
on the earth all the time without having any sense of its texture and temperature. As you walk around, Archuleta encourages people to name what they see. Naming things is another small but powerful act. When you name something, you have to look at it and acknowledge its existence. Naming objects is one of the first lessons we teach our children. It is how we connect them to their world, how they identify its component parts and grow familiar with their surroundings. It gives them a sense of home.
encouraging children to spend time in nature has declined tremendously. One of the painful results is that children recognize the component parts of nature less and less. The discouragement of naturally play stems from several reasons. In Last Child in the Woods, Robert Louv explains that there are Author Paul Hawken believes “we are nature.” many causes: a marked increase in the amount of Hawken continues: “We live in community, not television children watch each day, the rise in alone, and any sense of separateness we harbor is personal computer and internet usage, the increase in organized play versus It’s a simple thing—to take your shoes off—but it’s also very unsupervised play, and the powerful. It makes you keenly aware of how different the earth huge popularity of video games, tablets, and smart feels on your skin. We walk on the earth all the time without phones.
having any sense of its texture and temperature. illusion.” Awareness to this lack of separateness offers us a chance to stretch ourselves, to expand beyond our egos.” Through nature, our species is introduced to transcendence, in the sense that there is more going on than the individual. Most people are either awakened to or strengthened in their spiritual journey by experiences in the natural world.” Many studies indicate that in the last fifty years, and especially the last twenty, the practice of
Shrinking green spaces and the preponderance of lawsuits now make playing outside a high-cost risk, but even the pervasive use of air-conditioning is part of the problem. The end result is the same. Children as well as adults have less and less an understanding of what nature is all about. Not knowing nature’s vocabulary limits our understanding of our place in it. It also limits our preciousness to us. It is difficult to value what one cannot name.

In 1972, when we saw pictures of our planet from space—the famous big blue marble shots sent back by astronauts—it shocked and delighted the whole human race. The picture became so ubiquitous that psychologist Jean Houston reported seeing it pinned on the walls inside huts in remote tribal villages. “It went into our minds—we physically internalized our planetary home.” When William Davidson and family first settled in what would become Asheville as we now know it in 1784, we can only imagine the quiet beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains then. Eventually doctors began to “prescribe” a visit to Asheville for nature walks and bathing in various hot springs to rejuvenate tired bodies. Asheville is currently home to a growing number of healings arts practitioners offering a wide range of modalities. Local landscape artists allow visitors to return home with a photo or painting to remind them of their journey. But at the core, it is still nature that drives our tourism.
We believe what we see and hear, and nothing makes that as real as nature does. So the next time you travel on the Blue Ridge Parkway from one end of Asheville, or further along to Looking Glass Rock or Linn Cove, stop your car near all the other cars parked near trailheads. Take a few minutes to wander a little ways into the woods, take off your shoes and socks, and reconnect to earth for a spell. You will feel refreshed, the earth will welcome your visit, and from that will come an understanding that we are all part of an interdependent web of existence. Garden Feng Shui By Jini Rayne
Now that those tantalizing warm winter days are past and spring is really arriving it is time to get serious about making our outside spaces as attractive and useful as possible. Many people think of feng shui only in relationship to interior spaces, but the site and situation of your dwelling are actually the foundation of feng shui. If the energy of your home site is askew, then nothing that you do inside can completely make up for it. So let us turn our attention outside and see what insights feng shui can give us. In a previous article for this publication (Feng Shui Design and Your Home’s Entrance, Winter 2016) I dealt with the feng shui of the approach to your home. An article by Laura Esculcas (Creating Sacred space in Your Home or Garden, Spring 2016) might also be of interest. Both are available at www.FineHomesofWNC.com. There are several signs to look for to determine if the chi of the land surrounding your home is positive. Is there healthy wildlife such as songbirds and perhaps deer or other friendly animals? (Insect infestation, unhealthy or dead birds or animals or scavengers are all negative signs.) Is the vegetation lush and of desirable species? (Scrawny, deformed, diseased, discolored, or scrub 92 Fine Homes & Design | Spring 2017
species as well as a barren area are all negative.) If there is a waterway, is it clean and clear, meandering and with healthy fish and vegetation? (Pollution, stagnation, muddiness or a torrential flow are all undesirable.) If there is an issue with the health of any of the previous questions, deal with that first. If all is in order with respect to the health of the chi, we are ready to move on. It is helpful to make a simple site plan before spending energy and money on your garden. Sketch a drawing of the basics of your home and landscape: the road in front, and the position of your house on the lot. Include the driveway, outbuildings and any pathways as well. Make a copy to use later for planning your dream garden. Go outside and walk around noting on your drawing potential problems such as utility poles and lines. Also note the houses, landscape and businesses that surround your lot. Take some pictures from different angles of problem areas and areas with which you are especially pleased. There are so many possibilities for garden and yard spaces. Many people want a space to entertain. Does that include a deck or patio, outdoor kitchen or grill, pool, fire pit or something else for you? Do you need a
place for children (or adults) to play? What does that include? Do you want a kitchen or herb garden, a place for perennials or roses? How about a space for quiet and contemplation or perhaps a labyrinth? Make a list of all the important functions your yard needs to perform and see if there is an obvious place for each. Some people like to clip pictures of plants, arrangements, colors, and features they would ideally like to see in their garden. If you have done this over a period of time it gives you an idea of the look and mood you will like and perhaps some ways to approach your design. Many people actually have several yards or gardens to consider. The front yard is the most public space, the one that welcomes your guests and gives the first impression as people approach. Keeping it clean and neat shows that you value your home. The back yard may be enclosed and is a more private space. It represents the future, symbolizing what might happen in your future so you want it to be lush and abundant. In feng shui, the left side yard as you face the house from the street is auspicious for a healthy family. To foster good family
relationships it is especially vital to have healthy plants in this area as the wood element is prevalent here. The right side yard is associated with children and creativity so keep it free of clutter. This might be a good place for something fun in your garden. As you are planning, remember that your home should be the center of the garden. It is ideal if you can easily enter and exit the garden from your home. You want the view from your windows to be attractive and, if you sometimes have your windows open, be aware of the scent of what you plant outside them. A pleasant scent wafting in enhances a beautiful view. Now look back at your site plan and photos and identify any problems or areas that you need to change for either feng shui or practical reasons. Cutting down a dying tree has both practical and feng shui benefits for example. Crowded plants will need to be thinned; eyesores will need to be disguised or relocated. If the footprint of your house is an irregular shape you will want to plan to fill in any missing areas to complete the geometry with a deck or garden.
Spring 2017 | Fine Homes & Design 93
As you are planning, remember that your home should be the center of the garden. It is ideal if you can easily enter and exit the garden from your home. When you are ready, use your second site plan to sketch out your ideal yard and garden plan. Consider how you will enter each section as entrances are inlets for chi in a space. A gate, arbor, archway, trellis or doorway of any kind establishes a bridge to each garden, setting it apart so that it can be dedicated to the purpose you intend. A path that meanders or winds encourages gently flowing nourishing chi rather than a rushing torrent. Judicious use of straight pathways can bring chi to out of the way or hidden areas that lack sufficient energy. Feng shui has looked to nature for many centuries to use what works best for humans in their interactions with nature. The aim is to foster harmony and balance and to reflect healthy nature in man-made environments. Therefore we wish to echo the shapes, contours and indigenous vegetation of our surroundings. Thus more formal, angular or boxed in gardens which are not found in nature and inhibit the flow of chi are replaced with curves and flowing forms.
Nature consists of contrasts: tall and short plants; rough and smooth, hard and soft textures; long and short views; so use mixtures of shapes, sizes, colors, textures and perspectives. Balance out hotter colors (reds and yellows) with cooler ones (blues and purples), keeping the desired activity level of that part of the garden in mind. Metallic colors (silvers and golds) stimulate prosperity. Be careful not to crowd your plants, honoring each one and allowing room for its mature size. Keep thorny plants away from paths and doorways so as not to snag anyone. Remember that your garden is not an outdoor area separate from your house. It can be a fertile area for representing symbolically and helping to manifest your goals and desires. By working in harmony with nature in planning and cultivating this space you can establish and maintain a continuous flow of good energy and facilitate creativity, health, joy, opportunity, connection and opportunity for your whole family.
