What’s behind door # 2? Like the home but aren’t sure about the neighbors. Take a hike! That’s right, walk around the area and knock on a few doors. Ask some questions about the ‘environment’. Is it quiet here? Are there many kids? Is it a busy street? Where is the closest park, grocery store, and fire station? You’re not being nosy, but cautious and prepared. After all, if you make the commitment to move in, you want to know what it’s going to be like when you get there.
The decision is yours Should I put 20% down on a house, or just put 3%? Well, each individual will have to evaluate their circumstances and determine the right move. First, depending on your credit, you might not have a choice. But if you do, think about these things. Less down means a higher mortgage payment…but a bigger write off. More down means you will have less discretionary income to invest in other things. And actually, there are a few other variables and outcomes that a good lender will point out. Moral of the story…find a smart lender and/or financial advisor to discuss the options and implications.

Name this dog You’ll never guess! My nickname is “red stockings” because of the red socklike markings on my feet. I am not seen outside of France very often. Take the “Talk Test” It’s a simple way to determine if you are overdoing it when you exercise. If you’re too out of breath to comfortably carry on a conversation with another person when you run, dance, or slam-dunk a basketball, then you should slow down. On the other hand, you should be sweating, working hard, and feeling your heart go…budda boom, boom, boom. Don’t get chest pains, become dizzy, or throw up in your neighbor’s bushes. Now, get back to getting in shape.
