Realities For Children, Inc. is an alliance of local businesses whose mission is to provide for the unmet needs of children who have been abused, neglected, or are at-risk by uniting local businesses, youth agencies and the community in collaborative and mutually beneficial service.

Through the underwriting support of the 270+ Businesses, it allows Realities For Children Charities to operate without expenses. This ensures 100% of every donation directly benefits programs and services for the children we serve.

EMERGENCY FUNDING

EVENT SPONSORSHIP has created a safety net of services for children in our community who have faced abuse, neglect, or are at-risk.

We do this through our healing philosophy that provides emergency funding for children in Larimer County when all other resources are exhausted.

We support the process of recovery through youth activities, critical item distributions, and resources to the children served by our Partner Agencies.

We work to break the cycle of abuse through special direct grant programs and scholarships for the youth we serve. Because no child should be forgotten.

Asthe current president of the Board of Directors for Realities For Children and Assistant Chief of the Criminal Investigations Division at Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS), I often get a front row seat to some of the most significant events impacting our community. I have been a police officer with FCPS for nearly 28 years, more than half of those years in Investigations, where I have been involved in many abuse and neglect cases of our most vulnerable population – children.

Fortunately, I have also been blessed to have served on the Board of Directors for Realities For Children since 2015 and have had the great fortune of seeing the amazing work and impact Realities For Children has on some of those very same children.

Realities For Children currently has 40 Partner Agencies, whose mission is to provide critical services – both emergency and ongoing, to survivors of abuse and neglect. Realities For Children is not only the framework for the support and healing needed for abused children but is also the glue that holds the Partner Agencies together within the framework.

Because of the generous Business Members in our community who have a shared goal of supporting abused, neglected and at-risk youth by ensuring the continued success of Realities For Children and its Partner Agencies, this incredible work is able to continue. Thank you for patronizing the many businesses who support Realities For Children. Too often, it is easy to avoid thinking about the existence of child abuse and neglect and hope that it never touches ones own life, but I know it does very much exist in our community and it is incumbent upon all of us to work to not only stop the victimization of vulnerable children, but to also support those who have survived it.
