Safe Roads For Safe Kids As summer draws to a close, back-to-school season is in full effect. Remember to safely share the roads with school buses, pedestrians and bicyclists, and provide children with the necessary knowledge to stay safe at school. Whether children walk, ride their bicycle or take the bus to school, it is extremely important that they take proper safety precautions. Here are some tips to make sure your child safely travels to school. Walking To School • Review your family’s walking safety rules. • Walk on the sidewalk, if one is available. When on a street with no sidewalk, walk facing the traffic. • Before you cross the street, stop and look left, right and left again to see if cars are coming. • Never dart out in front of a parked car. • Cross streets at crosswalks when available. Riding A Bicycle To School • Make sure your child always wears his/her helmet when leaving the house. • Make sure helmet is fitted and secured properly. • Teach your children the rules of the road. • Ride on the right side of the road, with traffic, and in a single file. • Come to a complete stop before crossing the street. Walk bike across street.
4 | REAL EXCLUSIVE | GetRealExclusive.com
Riding The Bus To School • Go to the bus stop with your child to teach them the proper way to get on and off the bus. • Make sure your children stand six feet away (or 3 giant steps) from the curb. • If your child and you need to cross the street in front of the bus, walk on the side of the road until you are 10 feet ahead of the bus. You always should be able to see the bus driver, and the bus driver always should be able to see you. To a safe and educating year! STYLE WITH A CAUSE:
Cutting Loose For Charities By Becca Smith
REAL Style readers, I hope you have enjoyed the “Style with a Cause” summer series empowering and inspiring women through fashion and beauty; honoring amazing women who choose to use their talents and time to give back to the community in which they work and live. When I think of a woman who has “Style with a Cause” Coral Pleas, Master Stylist/Founder of Cutting Loose Salon comes to mind. Coral and her staff are committed to inspiring women through fashion and beauty, enhancing their beauty from the inside and out. She states,” As artists, we have a passion for this industry and for what we do and, and we want to share that with every person who walks through our door.” It’s clear that Coral also has a passion for giving back. She uses her talents and time to support local non-profit organizations, is committed to the community and truly believes it is important to support worthy organizations. Coral Pleas
Stafford & Linda Starcher
I’d say the Cutting Loose Salon team is “Cutting Loose for Charities.” Each year they host a charity cut-a-thon to benefit The Center for Building Hope. They offer discount haircuts, chair massages, make-up applications, and pink feather extensions; raffle off donations from local businesses, as well as a basket from Cutting Loose filled with products and a $100 gift certificate toward services. Since 1990, Coral has supported a local organization called SPARCC (Safe Place and Rape crisis Center). She also serves on their Board. The salon donates gift certificates to the shelter that can be used by women for a day of pampering and fashion consulting. Their day at Cutting Loose Salon helps them build a professional image so they can find new jobs and make a fresh start. They also provide hair and make-up for SPARCC’s annual Fashion Show held at the Ritz Carlton that raises money to support the

organization. Coral’s commitment to giving back doesn’t stop here. Cutting Loose Salon supports Day of Hope & Hope Kids (kids from low income or homeless families get ready for the school season) by collecting donations in the salon for events to raise money for school supplies, and at least three of Protégé Stylists attend the events and donate their time by giving free haircuts making the kids look back-to-school cool! Then there’s the Lisa Kreider Memorial Scholarship Fund (partnering with the Community Foundation) established to honor the memory of one of the Salons fellow team member who lost her life in March 2007. The fund provides scholarships to female students with financial needs who want to attend beauty school. Cutting Loose Salon is also honored to participate in the annual Designing
Cutting Loose Salon Team
Women Boutique Gala and Style Show styling the gorgeous models for the style show. Designing Women Boutique a non-profit consignment boutique featuring upscale designer clothing, jewelry, furniture and home accessories to grow funding for the Sarasota’s arts and human services organizations. Cutting Loose Salon’s motto is E2= Exceeding Expectations. There is nothing more important to them than the guest. They strive to ensure that every guests experience is extraordinary, delectable, and consistent. As a team, they are committed to inspiring their guests and the community with an unparalleled dedication to service while enhancing beauty, inside and out. Speaking of being beautiful inside and out Coral Pleas. Coral recognizes that there are times when individuals need help from businesses like hers with their fundraising efforts. If you are a charity group or organization hosting a fashion show or event with models Cutting Loose stylists and make-up artists enjoy taking their work and artistry outside of the salon to support local causes … and this is what they will do for the upcoming Women’s Council of Realtors Fashion Show and Luncheon September 16th at the Polo Grill Fete Ballroom; benefiting Family Promise,
a local non-profit Organization that enables the community to work together to address the needs of homeless families in Sarasota. The stylists will be “Cutting Loose for Charity” - styling the beautiful models who will be strutting the runway in fashions from JackieZ Style Co, like modeled here by Stafford Starcher, President - Realtors Association Sarasota & Manatee (RASM), Broker Associate RE/MAX Alliance Group and First Lady - Linda Starcher, Residential & Relocation Specialist RE/MAX Alliance Group. Stafford wears a Stone Rose dress shirt and Joe’s Jean and Linda, a Tart Amya teal dress and Zac & Ally necklace/bracelet; all available at Jackie Z Style Co. Thank you Coral Pleas for inspiring and empowering women through fashion and beauty. hen traveling through the Amalfi coast during a Mattison’s culinary adventure tour, I discovered that the fruit of the lemon trees there have a wonderful, sweet flavor. With these lemons, a tasty liqueur called Limoncello is produced, and often sipped after a meal. Put this together with the delicious, fresh Gulf shrimp to create an inspirational dish that brings the two peninsulas together.
Serves four 20 large shrimp 4 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 Tbsp butter 3 Tbsp chopped shallots 3 chopped garlic cloves 1 cup Limoncello 2 cups heavy cream 1 pound fettuccine 1 tsp lemon zest 2 tsp chopped parsley 1 Tbsp chiffonade mint 1 Tbsp chiffonade basil Salt and pepper to taste Season each shrimp on both sides with salt and pepper. Heat oil and butter in a large sauté pan to medium-high heat. Turn and brown the shrimp for about 5 minutes and remove from the pan. Add

the shallots to the pan and cook until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another minute. Deglaze the pan with Limoncello and reduce by half. Add the cream and cook until just thickened. Salt and pepper to taste. Meanwhile, cook the fettuccine in salted water until al dente then drain. Add the pasta, shrimp, lemon zest and herbs to the sauce. Toss well and divide between 4 bowls. For the best presentation, roll the pasta on a long fork and slide it off onto a platter. Arrange the shrimp around the pasta roll, garnish with chopped parsley and spoon additional sauce over the pasta. Enjoy!

FINDING BALANCE:
Could you benefit from Manual Lymph Drainage‌ AKA Lymphatic Massage? By Kimberly Burns, OTR/L, CLT
B
alance can have a great many meanings. It can be balancing a check book, balancing your tires, work-life balance, nutritional balance .Sometimes we need to look at how our body is balanced. Our blood, organs and tissues all have a certain amount of fluids, oxygen, blood, etc. that they require to keep them working properly. When there is too much or too little of those substances, systems can become burdened. For those of us who find our systems lacking in balance by feeling too much pressures from inside your body or a feeling of constant inflammation or bloating, Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a wellness therapy to consider. MLD is a technique that aims to support body’s fluid balance by utilizing a gentle yet stimulating hand technique to assist your lymphatic system in removing fluids that build up in our bodies and causes inflammation. It is a great tool for wellness as it relaxes your nervous system and leaves you feeling cleansed. While commonly known as a Lymphatic Massage, this skilled technique does not utilize kneading or rolling of muscles. It is a gentle movement of skin to stimulate the delicate vessels of the lymphatic system. Manual Lymph Drainage is a technique developed to assist the lymphatic system in supporting the lymph vessels to move stagnant fluid. Traditionally this technique was used as a treatment for Lymphedema which is an abnormal collection of high-protein fluid just beneath the skin. Lymphedema usually develops when lymph vessels are damaged or lymph nodes are removed such as after breast cancer (referred to as secondary lymphedema) but can also be present when lymphatic vessels are missing or impaired due to a hereditary condition (primary lymphedema). According to http://www.lymphnet.org/lefaqs/what-is-lymphedema.
The lymphatic system is part of our immune system. It develops and circulates immune cells as well as draining fluid from tissues and organs in order to return it to the blood supply. It acts as a secondary drainage system that assists the circulatory system in removing waste products from the body. There are also substances that the circulatory system cannot absorb that the lymphatic system can. Your lymphatic system follows specific pathways that are similar to the circulatory system and has lymph nodes in place along the way to filter harmful material and produce antibodies (lymphocytes). Unlike the circulatory system which has the heart as its pump, the lymphatic system does not have one special organ that assists in its return to the blood supply. Your lymphatic system relies on pressures from the body and the environment to assist it in its climb to recirculation. MLD utilizes special hand techniques with particular sequences to assist fluids to return to the blood stream for the circulatory system to reabsorb. It can be a great complementary therapy that can assist in detoxification, pain reduction, swelling reduction, decongestion of sinuses and relaxation.
and swelling of the limbs. It is very beneficial in reducing pain from arthritis, fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome, rheumatic disorders, soft-tissue disorders, skin disorders. It is the ideal pre and post-operative treatment for those who are planning to or have recently undergone surgery, including: orthopedic surgeries, liposuction, breast augmentation, facelifts, and the list goes on.
Aside from it being a beneficial therapy to seek, it is a must to learn techniques that you can do for yourself. With minimal effort, you can learn to treat your lymphatic system thus improving your immune health by incorporating the lymphatic influence throughout your day. Supporting your lymphatic system will increase your chances of fend off disease and maintaining a healthy body.
Despite the great variety of applications for MLD there are a number of conditions which are contraindicated for this therapy. Pre-existing conditions that would be considered an ABSOLUTE contraindication are: acute inflammation, malignant tumors, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and major heart problems. If you are currently being treated by a physician, it is always recommended to coordinate MLD treatment with your current medical plan. If you are not sure how to go about talking with your doctor about utilizing this treatment, it may be beneficial to have a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) help you explain the benefits of this hands on healing therapy.
MLD can be used to treat a variety of symptoms, therefore having many indications. Most widely known indications for MLD is lymphedema, breast cancer related lymphedema (BCRL)
So whether you call it Manual Lymph Drainage or Lymphatic Massage, it is a beneficial tool to know as it addresses a major system in our body that does not get the attention it deserves.

Braid Your Hair For
Summer Fun
By Sheila Venancia
The braided hairstyle is ideal for long or medium hair. It offers many possibilities‌..literally. These hairstyles give women a one-of-a-kind unique and distinctive hairstyle that will set them apart from the crowd.
Braid hairstyles are very challenging for most women to try to do to themselves, and for many hairstylists also. This is because to perform this service well a stylist must have extensive knowledge of the many techniques and styles available, together with the experience to know what style will work best with their clients hair characteristics. Working with an experienced hairdresser, many amazing and intricate styles are possible. There are several steps that should be performed by the hairdresser before they begin styling your hair. Each is important to ensure that you are satisfied with the end result. First, they should examine both your facial and hair characteristics. Only then can your stylist suggest the types and styles of braiding that will look best for you. They likely will be able to give you several suggestions and options to pick from. Then it is up to you to pick what style best fits your personality. Second, when you and your stylist have decided on the braided hairstyle to be performed, make sure that both you and the stylist have sufficient time to complete the process. Hair braiding styles are often very intricate and require the stylist to be very meticulous and
patient to create the perfect look. Want to know the latest braid styles? Check out the list below: High Ponytail Box Braid Box braids are cool. To make them look cooler, why not tie your long, gorgeously braided hair into a high ponytail? This sassy hairdo is perfect if you are that cheerleader type of girl. This is something that you surely need to try this summer. Chequered Box Braid If you want a wild and crazy hairstyle this warm season, a chequered box braid style is something that you must try. Instead of doing the typical box braid, you can use creativity to make a square base for each strand of braid. This hairdo is so detailed that you will surely turn heads.
until it reaches the other side of your head. You can wear the rest of your hair in a ponytail to add to the style. Low Ponytail Braid This is another simple hairstyle that has never gone out of fashion. All you do is form a single braid in a low ponytail. Some loose hair strands at the front can make you look more natural. Although this is a bit common, it never fails to give that sophisticated and classic appeal. Braided hair can be considered a very stylish hairstyle as many designs can come from it. This short list of braided hairstyles for 2015 just described is just a taste of what is possible. Of course, there are many other braid styles out there that you can try on yourself......the fishtail braid, the side braid, the French braid..... the list is endless and the choice is yours!
Headband Plait So much for box braids, let us go to the simpler braids or plaits. One of the simple yet elegant braid hairstyles for formal occasions is the headband plait. This is done by making a single braid from one side and making it cross over

SUBTERRANEAN AWESOMENESS By Susan Hritz
“Subterranean Awesomeness” is how our group described our 5 day adventure in the Hang En and Hang Son Doong caves of Vietnam. In celebration of my son, David’s 25th birthday, the two of us traveled to Vietnam to tour Halong Bay, the world’s largest cave, Son Doong, and the historical sites of Hue and Hoi An. It was an adventure of a lifetime; both physically and mentally challenging: a unique experience and a birthday memory to cherish. David Olson & Susan Hritz Peering into Hang Son Doong

rowing up in Michigan, outside Detroit, James “Jim” Towery’s life was like so many others in The Motor City. His father worked in the automotive industry and mother in the local church. Jim could have followed his father’s footsteps, but a summer stint with a local gardener changed his trajectory. It was the love of the outdoors that set Jim’s future course, and led him to enroll at Michigan State University. Jim shares, “I’ve had an artistic flair and love of the outdoors since childhood. Early on I dreamed of designing beautiful outdoor gardens.” Prior to attending Michigan State University, Jim did work at Ford Motor Company, but a career at the Big Three was not his goal. Graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Jim set his sights on his passion, the outdoors, but the Michigan winters were not in his plans. Florida had the year-round tropical environment that suited Jim and his future career. Landing in West Palm Beach, Jim began his landscape career. Establishing himself as a landscape architect, Jim’s career blossomed and he established Coastal Garden Landscape Services in 1987 as a full service landscape architectural design/build firm, specializing in luxury estate garden design. Jim credits his parents for setting his moral compass, actively reflected in the business.

Who Is Buying A Home Here? By Patricia Tan
W
e are all reading market reports about low inventory, rising prices and sometimes multiple offers on a particular property, but who are the buyers, and where are they coming from? What is driving them here? Why do people buy in Florida, and more specifically on the beautiful west coast of Florida? Retirement, I hear you say! Yes, Florida is known as a retirement destination, but here in the Sarasota area we enjoy much more diversity in our population. This became very apparent to me recently when I was doing some research to compare and contrast Naples and Sarasota as destinations for retirement and vacation properties. I was invited by the Naples Board of Realtors to make a presentation to their members about Sarasota and how our lifestyle and real estate options compare to those in Naples – we often see buyers from outside Florida visiting both cities and deciding where to make their new home. My research revealed some interesting facts about the demographics of both areas. While the most recent census showed that Sarasota and Naples both had 29% of their respective populations aged 65 and over, the median age in Sarasota was 43.8 years compared to 64.9 years in Naples. So younger people are buying homes here! We are seeing younger retirees, but I have no doubt that our excellent school system encourages families with children to relocate here, and that drives down our median age significantly. My research also showed that the median household income in Sarasota was $48,826 compared with Naples median household income at $54,406. But a quick look at real estate prices revealed Naples residents would need the additional income as their homes can cost between 15% and 20% more than comparable homes in Sarasota.
Many relocating retirees start by purchasing a part time or vacation home, and gradually increase the amount of time they spend here each year. Some of the needs for this group of buyers are met by traditional condominiums and “lock-andleave” maintenance-free communities, or so-called 55+ communities. However, recent trends in new construction have proved that these buyers want more. We have seen a surge in demand for homes in
communities that offer an active lifestyle. Typically these developments will offer a club house and range of amenities, together with the services of a Lifestyle Director, who will organize everything from exercise classes to book clubs, to trips to the theater and much more. In our own area, Taylor Morrison started this trend with their Esplanade development in Lakewood Ranch. The concept proved so popular they built, or have under development, similar communities close to Siesta Key, in Palmer Ranch and in Palmetto. Not to mention Naples and other “retirement” states who quickly embraced the concept. Neal Communities and Del Webb are also

active in this sector of the market. Retirees are getting younger and demanding more! Rising real estate prices have caused some people planning for retirement to make their home purchase sooner rather than later, and this has created a different demand for homes. Younger people are buying homes that they will use as a stepping stone to the retirement home of their dreams. They see prices rising. They also see a strong demand for long term rental properties. They respond by purchasing investment properties now, using them to generate rental income, with a plan to sell the property later to fund the purchase of their dream retirement condo on the beach, house on the golf course or in their choice of active lifestyle community. Perhaps the most encouraging trend I have observed recently is that the number of local buyers we have in the market is on the rise. Residents now feel confident enough in our economy and their personal finances to buy that larger home for their growing family, or to downsize now they are empty nesters. Mortgages are more freely available to help these buyers, and their movement is helping us achieve a balance in the market, where we are no longer reliant on retirees and investors from out of the area. So who are the buyers? Not just retirees from out of state/country, but people like you and me – local residents who see value in our area and plan on staying a while

Selah Freedom Bringing Light Into The Darkness Of
Sex Trafficking
By Debra Pitell-Hauge
“The average age of entry into sex trafficking is 12-14 years old. At least 92% of all girls sold were sexually abused as a child. Ask me how you can help stop sex trafficking.”
F
lorida is one of the top three states in the nation for sex trafficking. The survivors that Selah Freedom serves are local and were sold for sex right here in Sarasota, Manatee and Hillsborough Counties. It is estimated that 100,000-300,000 American children are sold into sex slavery every year and Southwest Florida is a hub for sex trafficking. Selah Freedom actively confronts the issue of sex trafficking and is upheld as the statewide model for how to effectively bring solutions to survivors of sex trafficking & exploitation. Selah is a Hebrew word which means to pause, rest, and reflect. Selah Freedom gives survivors a chance to do just that. Women in their programs have an opportunity to dream again; to discover who it is they were created to be.
over 20,000 people annually through their Speakers Bureau and presence at community events. They educate the public, church groups, clubs, students, etc. through dynamic and moving presentations on domestic sex trafficking. Selah Freedom also provides education to professionals and community members through CSEC 101 (Commercial Exploitation of Children), and Global Training. PREVENTION Selah Freedom is the only organization in our region certified to bring the nationally acclaimed Teen Prevention
In 2009, Selah Freedom’s founders discovered the horrifying truth that local children were being bought and sold for sex right here in our own communities. What began as the grassroots initiative of women from across the country to be a voice for the voiceless, has quickly transformed into a thriving organization with four foundational programs: Awareness, Prevention, Outreach, and Residential. AWARENESS Selah Freedom brings awareness about sex trafficking and exploitation to 34 | REAL EXCLUSIVE | GetRealExclusive.com
Program, My Life, My Choice to girls between the ages of 12 – 17. Originally out of Boston, this survivor-written and survivor-led curriculum has proven to lower the chances of girls being sexually/ commercially exploited by over 90%! My Life, My Choice is a ten-week program that works to stem the tide of commercial sexual exploitation by harnessing girls’ strength, resilience, and outrage. It directly benefits those most at-risk – adolescent girls, particularly those abused, neglected, or exposed to family violence and addiction - that are especially vulnerable to recruitment by pimps. In 2006, the United States Department of Justice recognized this program as a national model for sex trafficking prevention. OUTREACH Selah Freedom provides outreach on the streets and in the jails through their sex trade support group, led by Selah Freedom’s Director of Outreach and Law Enforcement Liaison, Kindsey Pentecost. Kindsey has a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice and is certified with the Florida Crime Prevention Training Institute for Human Trafficking. She partners with the Sarasota and Bradenton Police Departments, Sarasota County Sheriff and Manatee County Sheriff as the first point of contact for women identified as sex trafficking victims or at high risk of being recruited into sex trafficking.
“Human Trafficking is a horrible reality that many are forced into every day. Those who have been hurt and those providing them aid need our support. I’m grateful for organizations like Selah Freedom who work to help bring healing to those who have lived through these tragic circumstances and survived. “ -Steve Crisafulli, Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives “Whenever I am asked, ‘Who are the NGO’s in Florida having the greatest positive impact?’, the first group that comes to mind is Selah Freedom. In my opinion, no single organization has done more in the continuing struggle to end human trafficking.” -Ross Spano, Florida State Representative
Survivors who are still “in the life” are able to attend weekly groups and receive the resources they need, as well as build a trusting relationship with Selah Freedom. Once a woman is ready to step into freedom and leave the abusive lifestyle she has been trapped in, Selah Freedom is able to bring her into a place of safety and restoration. Selah Freedom provides case management to survivors through their Outreach Program where they receive resources, job placement, counseling, legal assistance and more. Selah Freedom has also aligned with law enforcement and the State Attorney’s Office to spearhead TYLA (Turn Your Life Around). The TYLA initiative is a partnership between the Sarasota Police Department and Selah Freedom that employs community outreach, diversion, and a re-directed law enforcement philosophy. TYLA serves over 100 women annually. TYLA provides support in the form of case management, counseling, job training, and residential services. TYLA is also supportive during judicial proceedings and is committed to the victims held in bondage within the various levels of sex trafficking. RESIDENTIAL The Residential Program is a holistic approach to restoration. Survivors, who have had everything stolen from them, get the stability and rest they need to dream again! They can accomplish goals they never knew were possible to tackle - things like getting their GED, driver’s license, and learning to swim. Selah Freedom provides a three-phase
Residential Program to survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation, with two safe houses in the Southwest Florida area. First, survivors enter the Rest Phase, which allows them to reflect and decide if they are prepared to move forward with stepping into the new life Selah Freedom offers. The second phase is the Restore Phase, where women receive a personalized education plan, medical aid, trauma therapy, job placement, case management, and restorative services. They also have the opportunity to build healthy and safe relationships that will follow them into their final stage of the program. The final stage is the Relaunch Phase, in which survivors receive individualized planning and assistance with living independently, career goals, and continued support. Selah Freedom is there with them every step of the way through their transformation! UNDERSTANDING TRAFFICKING Is it like the movie “Taken”? Are people abducted by force? Not really. Only 10% of domestic sex trafficking victims fit that profile. The typical client Selah Freedom serves is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. One out of 3 girls are sexually abused, many as young as 3-4 years of age, by someone they know—a parent or step-parent, church leader or neighbor. The abuse usually lasts for many years. The child experiencing severe abuse will usually run away by the age of 12 and within 48 hours 80% will be coerced into some
form of sex trafficking by a trafficker or pimp. The predators on the street target these runaways by convincing them that they will provide security, housing and food for them. They falsely claim that they understand how difficult life on the street is, only to get them hooked on drugs and tricked into sex trafficking to earn their keep. A child that gets taken into the sex trade lifestyle usually stays 7 years; being sold up to 40 times a day. Having questions about sex trafficking & exploitation is very common. Selah Freedom is here to help bring some clarity to the issue. If you would like to hear more about sex trafficking and how Selah Freedom is on the front lines confronting this issue please contact Selah Freedom. They are here to help. Sex trafficking is happening in your community.

Collection Of Accident Scene Evidence
By William Henry, PhD
evidence collection process begins as quickly as possible. One can rest assured that if the injury was caused by bad lighting, improperly installed railings, poorly laid carpet, a maintenance deficiency, or anything thing else that can be corrected, that it will likely be corrected as quickly as possible to hide the cause of the injury before that evidence can be discovered and preserved.
I
n a perfect world no one would ever be injured as the result of the negligence of another person. In a nearly perfect world one who is injured would always have the presence of mind to instantly collect all of the relevant information immediately after being injured – even before leaving the scene.
The dilemma is this: someone is hurt on someone else’s property; the injured party is in pain and not thinking clearly and is certainly not thinking about preserving and collecting evidence; and those responsible for the property where the injury has occurred want to “clean the place up” immediately. The goal of one who is injured, or someone accompanying him or her, should be to memorialize all the facts as quickly as possible. Some examples of ways to do this are:
• Getting photos of the scene before it is altered. • Obtaining names, addresses, phone numbers and statements of all witnesses, including those who may be connected with those responsible for the property. • Finding anything that has been recorded that shows what happened or preserves the scene before the evidence disappears. This can include still or video security cameras or audio recorders.
It is also true that the average person is not experienced in collecting the information that is mentioned here. Therefore, it is imperative that when an injury has occurred that those assisting the injured person collect what they can, but also that they seek professional help as soon as possible. Any qualified personal injury attorney presented with a new fact situation will know what to do and how to do it. Those services can be invaluable. The bottom line is this. Evidence related to any injury should be collected as quickly and completely as possible – the shorter the time between the injury and the preservation of evidence the better. Any evidence not collected is not available for use. We have seen that the better the documentation of facts at the premises at the time of the accident, the more likely the determination of liability will be accurate and timely, saving dollars spent on litigation.
• Preserving one’s own recollections of everything that happened as quickly, completely and accurately as possible. Now to the real world: we all know that those in pain do not usually think clearly and are not inclined to preserve evidence. Therefore, it frequently falls on those who may be with or know the injured person to see to it that the
