Your home needs to be ‘show ready’ at all times, which can be difficult to balance if you are still living in the home. Beware of iBuyers
Though selling your home online may seem convenient, the fine print comes with a cost.
WHAT IS AN IBUYER?
iBuyer, short for instant buyer, is a company that will buy homes from sellers online with an offer based on an algorithm.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
iBuyers bank (literally) on the idea that a consumer may tolerate a possibly lower sale price for their home in exchange for the convenience their online method provides.
KEEP IN MIND:
• Service fees can add up to more than a traditional agent's commission.
• An iBuyer typically requires an inspection to be completed and may require repairs or may deduct repair costs from the offer price, leaving you with an even lower offer than originally quoted.
• Contacting the iBuyer for questions can be difficult as you will rarely speak with the same person about the transaction. In fact, in many steps inside the transaction, you may not work with a person at all if that component of the system is automated.
Partnering with a RE/MAX agent means knowing you have someone on your side, helping you get the market value for your home and looking out for your best interest — every step of the way.
Finalizing the Sale
