efore Cashiers developed into the quaint mountain village that it is today, the Cherokee knew this plateau at 3,500 feet as a cool, lush campground that figured prominently in their seasonal migrations. Many others have since discovered the natural wonders of this temperate forest nestled high upon the ancient slopes of the Blue Ridge Escarpment.
