hether professional networking evokes pure joy or sheer terror, the practice is necessary to increase leads, promote marketing efforts, connect with colleagues, and establish referral sources. With a little preparation, REALTORS can make the most of a networking event, and leave with more than a stack of business cards and an improved handshake.

Use social media tools to target your networking efforts by reaching out to fellow attendees online. By making this initial connection beforehand the first in-person meeting will be much less awkward. Putting a face to a name is a powerful technique in the networking game. Know where the event venue is located, parking options and whether business cards are required. Arriving in a frazzled state is not a way to leave a good first impression.
