7 Hello and welcome to the second issue of Coverage! In this issue we bring you lots of exciting information on the Student Association’s (SA) fundraising efforts for our RAG (Raising and Giving) charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. Just to let you know, we’re turning the final issue of Coverage into an online Yearbook, which will include lots of fun photos of events from throughout the year. We’d love your input, so if anyone has any photos or information they would like to suggest for the Yearbook, please email it to sa.pressofficer@gmail.com

This year’s RAG Week has been a record making one. The Student Association put on 4 events each day during the week to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support. Starting off the week, students took part in a 24hr London to Paris cycling and rowing challenge, hosted in the bar. Due to the amount of effort the students and staff put into this challenge we ended up doing 560 miles (that’s from London to Paris and back again...), which was amazing! Other popular events during the week included the raft race, tractor pull and the masquerade themed RAG Ball. The ball was a particularly successful, as all attendees made a huge effort in dressing up for the theme. All in all RAG Week 2015 has been the most successful yet, raising a record amount of £1,800 beating all previous years by miles. Thanks to everyone who got involved during the week and helped us raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. We’ve raised over £17,000 up to now, so please in the last few weeks of term come and support us by getting involved with all the events we are planning and help us with the final push to raise out target of £20,000!
Upcoming events: Open Farm Sunday: 7th June The Wilmslow Can Shake: 13th June 1000 Engine Rally: 20th and 21st June

Reaseheath Societies Reaseheath Conservation Society
The Conservation Society has been very busy this year working on a host of projects and lots of fundraising activities including raising £202.52 for Chester Zoo’s ‘Go Orange for Orangutans’ campaign and £402.63 for Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s ‘Pole to Pole’ campaign. Recently we hosted a talk from Lou and Phil from the newly formed conservation group Fin Fighters. They gave a fantastic presentation to the society on global threats facing shark species today and what we can do to help change these issues. Society members have also been working hard to improve our Conservation Garden. So far, two wild flower beds have been planted and a compost heap has been built, along with many other improvements made. The plan is to continue to develop the garden by creating even more flower beds, taking better control the stinging
Conservation Garden nettle problem along with introducing bug hotels and bird feeders. Jack Kay Conservation Society Chair

Top of the league for Reaseheath sports teams! This year our men’s recreational football team and men’s rugby team were triumphant in the Northern Counties league winning both titles. The league is made up of three other land-based colleges and was highly competitive.
