PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am currently in my second year of studying BA Honours Fashion Management and Communication at Sheffield Hallam University. I see myself as an outgoing, resilient and creative individual who is always keen to learn new skills to add to and enhance the ones I already have. I am able to use Adobe Software such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator to produce creative, aesthetically pleasing pieces of work. Furthermore each of my university modules have required me to do a presentation alone or in a team, meaning I am confident in presenting to vast amounts of people. Since starting my degree I have become increasingly interested in the fashion marketing industry and how it is evolving due to new technologies changing consumer behaviour. Social media is part of the powerful evolution of the industry and I would love to be part of the transformation. Brands need to adapt to these new technologies which are changing the ways consumers purchase items because of social medias such as Instagram and Twitter which are now the future of fashion and fashion marketing.

WORK EXPERIENCE River Island Sales Advisor. June 2018-September 2018. Whilst at River Island I gained a good understanding of how a high street fashion retailer works. For example how important it is for stock to be replenished correctly and swiftly, and serving and helping customers whenever I can. Furthermore I had an insight into running a fashion brands social media, as I ran their Instagram page for the of period time that I worked there, making it look on brand and clean. Morrisons Supermarket Delicatessen Assistant. March 2017- Present. Working at Morrisons highlights to me how important customer service is within a business. Being polite, knowledgeable and helpful is essential for the return of customers and the everyday running of the business. Along with safe and legal checks to ensure laws are being abided to. McDonalds Restaurant Crew Member June 2015-March 2017. McDonald’s has showed me that working in a team is so important when working in a fast paced environment. The customers were our main focus, we had to serve them as quickly and efficiently as possible all whilst providing great customer service.
