Opaque plate prints and playing around with adding colour.

Page 1

There was a massive difference in how easier it was to wipe off the excess ink on the opaque plate instead of the clear plate

I wanted to use brusho because the colours appear vibrant and bold which I thought would connote the feeling of imagination and magic. However adding the brusho was difficult as it is quite temperamental, and is very hard to savage once the colour crystals meet the water. I feel this example below looks to messy and the colour does not look thoughtfully applied.

Developing on the application of colour on this print which I thought was really effective and connoted the feeling of magic and ‘wonder’ Adding colour on photoshop To get visual represention of What colours work together Before adding it to the prints

I added colour to small specific parts on this one which I think works better, however because of how unpredictable the brusho paint can be, parts of the colour overpower the etching itself.

Ways to add colour other than brusho: • Using different coloured inks on certain parts of the etching before printing. • Using a muliply of coloured prints instead of black. • Water colour • Water colour pens- more predicable, accurate application of colour.

Playing around with adding coloured ink to the stools o the mushrooms. – like the colour combination but feel it needs to be more bold and vibrant to emphasize imagination.

I Feel this colour combination works the best as it subtly changes and still keeps the line work as a focus, unlike the colour added with brusho which overwhelmed the etch.
