Gospel City Church

GOSPEL CITY CHURCH

This church currently serves a couple thousand people on any given Sunday. Their current sanctuary only seats between 600-700 people, which has caused them to have multiple services squeezed into tight time frames. The client needed to expand to have higher capacity services and more office space to handle the increase in capacity. This project provided just that with more room for expansion as they grow.Â

Morris Park Country Club

MORRIS PARK COUNTRY CLUB

Morris Park is the oldest country club in town. While it has its old charm and wonderful historic character, it was in need of serious updates to remain competitive with other clubs. This project was an addition and renovation that moved several functions to new places in the building and added new services for an expanding club member demographic. All club member spaces received new finishes for a timeless and traditional look that fits their clubs character.

A People Engaging Industry

In a world where architecture has become prominent, is it possible that we have been designing with a certain aesthetic in mind rather than designing spaces for people to truly live in? We must remember that it is the people who make the spaces come alive and not the reverse. People must be thought of first if we want to create truly useful spaces.

Project Description This project is located in Michigan City, In. It is the location of a current Amtrak railway line and the project is a result of a request for a high-speed train from Chicago to Detroit. This mixed use project features, the train station, a large hotel, offices, retail and residential housing units all combined at the marina on Lake Michigan.

Process In designing a building as complex as this one, there are many things that needed to be worked through to integrate each piece of the building smoothly. These different drawings were important in working through things such as the overall grid and the structure, the way light would move around the building and the way the building worked with the waterfront.

A Health and Wellness Center

This project was to design a sanitarium or wellness center for battered women and their families. The location was in downtown Fort Worth, Texas where climate, privacy, and Texas culture were big factors in design choices.

Trinity Lutheran Church Community

Trinity Lutheran Church Community Premise This project focused on the Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs, MI. They want to utilize the open land on their property to create a more urban community for their members. They also want to create an environment that allows them to minister to any other community residents that end up living or working there. In our group we specifically designed row houses for families, cottages for the elderly and a walk in between to incorporate the new development to existing developments on neighboring properties. BIM Intro Class Law Office

Law Office This law office was a technical skills project for a class using Revit, it is a complete model of the building, from the foundation plans and floor plans to the structure and HVAC. This project, while not created by me, taught the technical and design skills necessary to use the program in a helpful way wherever my architectural skills are used. First Floor
