By excavating and grading the space and planting with native plants, this muddy area will now be more attractive and help prevent dirty parking lot water from draining to the Huron River. Many community members, local businesses and organizations supported this effort -- giving up their Saturdays to help dig and plant. Thanks to James Gray, Jonathan Parker, Joan Lansdell, Andrew Comai, Myrna Hadwick, Karen Caldwell, Tricia Jones, Jennifer Cosey, Lise Anderson, Kathy Sample, Jack Wallace, Sally Rutzky and Second Nature Gardens and Landscape for their generous donations. We are also grateful to Best Block Ann Arbor for their donation of boulders and free delivery. Level 1-4. The practice of yin yoga provides the perfect balance to an active (yang) yoga practice, as well as other athletic disciplines such as running, bicycling, skiing, and a busy life. Think outside the box! Challenge your minds! Be prepared for the world of technology! 7 weeks. FEE: $145
Instructor: Brain Monkeys staff.
Basic Electronics
Robotics with LEGO Mindstorms
How did Ben Franklin figure out a way to harness electricity? By playing around with it! This class is more fun than playing with lightning. Students use electronic snap-on circuits to learn the basics of electricity, and then replicate some of the same experiments with plain wires and alligator clips. Under our well-grounded guidance, students build and learn about: series and parallel circuits, electronic devices that make ‘choices’, noise maker circuits, motion and light-activated alarm circuits and more.
Using the LEGO Mindstorms NXT robot kits, students become familiar with the fundamentals of computer programming. Then with drag and drop computer language, students program their robots to follow multi-step programs. Integrating “vision”, touch and sound sensors along with individualized challenges, teaches students to think outside the box, challenges their minds and prepares them for the world of technology.
WeDo Robotics
LEGO Physics Using Science and Technology LEGO Engineering kits, students work in pairs; each student assembling part of the model. Students then join their parts to complete the building project. LEGO = fun = learning!

Your child will become more self-confident and learn self-control. You will find that your parent-child relationship will also improve. Participants develop physical problem-solving skills that can transfer to many areas of their lives. We use play-based activities and role-playing to practice Judo/Jujitsu based self-defense techniques. Most martial arts programs rely on striking the attacker with violent punches, kicks, knees, and elbows, but we take a different approach. All the techniques are purely defensive and avoid striking.
