Through the generosity of donors, we are able to provide programs and services to those who may not otherwise be able to participate. Financial assistance, to the extent possible, is available to those in need. You may ask for a confidential assistance application at the YMCA Service Center. All YMCA members receive the same membership benefits, regardless of scholarship assistance. DISABLED VETERANS DISCOUNT In appreciation to the sacrifices our disabled veterans have made, the YMCA is pleased to offer disabled veterans 10% off regular membership dues.

SilverSneakers members of sponsoring health plans receive a membership that includes the opportunity to participate in the SilverSneakers group exercise classes. The classes are appropriate for older adults who are fit and active as well as those who are sedentary, intimidated, unfamiliar with exercise, entering post-rehabilitation programs and all those who enjoy a positive, upbeat social environment. Silver Sneakers members are welcome to try out any of our other group exercise classes as well. The Functional Movement System (FMS) is a scientifically based training regimen designed to push you to a higher level of performance. The FMS screening involves seven, simple movements that expose your physical limitations and weaknesses. When weaknesses are hidden, it can hinder your performance in a specific sport or in general life. Once your FMS score is determined, we provide you with specific exercises designed to alleviate your weaknesses and aid in avoiding potential injury and pain. For more information about this pilot program you can contact the Fayette County Memorial Hospital at (740) 335-1210 (ask for the therapy department) or Eric Gerber, YMCA Fitness Director
