The consolidation of campuses will result in a more cohesive experience for students, no matter which location they attend. A common calendar will make it easier for students to sync their classes and academic activities and know about cultural events and key dates at each location.

Students interested in attending CT State in the fall can apply now, and continuing students from each of the community colleges can register for their fall classes. All the information needed, including the full course catalog, can be found on CTState.edu. All applicants are encouraged to complete the FAFSA at StudentAid.gov. This is the first step for many in determining whether they may be eligible for free tuition.

This is a new way for Connecticut residents to access higher education; keeping the best of the community colleges that have benefited Connecticut residents for over 60 years, while adding all the advantages and enhancements offered through a single, statewide community college. CT State is positioned to help local students reach their goals and potential for many more years to come.

Parent Playdate. Monday, July 10, 10 to 11 a.m., in the Children’s Department. No registration required. Enjoy getting to know other parents/caregivers and their little ones, and check out all that the library has to offer. There will be a quick story time about half way through the hour, but the rest of the time is yours to enjoy and make new connections.

Baby Rhyme Time. Tuesday, July 11, 10:30 to 11 a.m., in the Children's Story Room. No registration required. This program brings caregivers and babies together to nurture bonds and increase awareness of the child’s development. Our primary focus is the healthy development of infants (up to 24 months) with an emphasis on language enrichment and pre-literacy skills.

Dice Quest. Tuesday, July 11, 4 to 4:30 p.m., in the Children’s Story Room. For ages 6 to 11. Registration required. Roll the dice and let fate decide how your story will play out in this Mad Lib-style adventure. The power is in your hands!

Toddler Time. Wednesday, July 12, 10:30 to 11 a.m., in the Children's Story Room. For ages 2 and 3. Registration required. Learn and have fun! Parents/caregivers and their toddlers will interact with books, learn fingerplays and sing.

LEGO Club. Wednesday, July 12, 4 to 4:30 p.m., in the Children's Department. For ages 4 to 12. No registration required. We provide the LEGOs, you provide the creativity!

Dance Party. Thursday, July 13, 10:30 to 11 a.m., in the Community Room. For ages 1 to 5. Registration required. Join us for this loosely structured dance party to burn off some extra energy, sing, dance and play with instruments.

Creation Station: Treasure Slime. Thursday, July 13, 4 to 5 p.m., in the Children’s Department. For ages 3 to 10. No registration required. Come make a craft with a helpful teen volunteer, or grab a pre-made Craft Pack with everything you’ll need to make it at home.
