Firefighters keep blaze from spreading into residence

SOUTHINGTON — Fi re - fighters were able to extinguish a small fire that started on the outside of a Dunham Street home before it could reach the inside of the resid e n c e.

Fire Battalion Chief Glenn Dube said the homeowner ham St. shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday. Firefighters stopped the fire within minutes, limiting its damage to the exterior. Officials reported no inj uries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
