Take Action Now - Fund Our Schools!!! CONTACT THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL Show your support for Wallingford spending on education! Ask for a
meeting, write a letter or make a phone call. Request that they fund the BOE budget in full. Attend the Town Council and Board of Education meetings. Voice your
concerns publicly. Speak to your school principal, PTO, PTAC, neighbors and other
community members. Spread the word to support education!
WHAT’S AT STAKE.... Programs and services have already been cut or reduced under the proposed budget: $4 million in cuts and elimination of 83 staff positions. No additional cuts can be made without severely reducing the quality of education Wallingford children receive. Every 1% that is decreased from the proposed school budget means approximately $850,000 in additional cuts; this could equate to approximately 19 teachers or 47 paraprofessionals per each 1%!
GOOD TO KNOW.... The Mayor’s recommendation is due to the Town Council April 1st. There is no public forum for the community to voice comments or questions to the Mayor about the budget before this decision is made! Contact now: Mayor William W.
