Dear Mr. Prentice: I noticed in Sunday's (January 17, 2010) Record Journal that you and several other individuals have organized a testimonial for Mayor Dickinson to be held on February 6, 2010 at Villa Capri. I believe that if such an event were to take place, it would be in violation of Connecticut General Statute ยง9-609(b) unless the organizers are an entity duly organized for charitable purposes.
You mayor may not have been aware of this Statute but in any event, I've enclosed a copy for your reVIew.
