Urban Renewal– Cities in the new milenium

duration: 1 year/ 2 semesters (60 ECTS)

The study program is aligned with the principles and standards of the Bologna Declaration, and is accredited by the Republic Commission for Accreditation and Quality Control of the National Council for Higher Education.

After the finalization of the studies, the applicant recieve a title Specialist in the domain of Urban Renewal

The study program is realized within the educational-scientific, i.e. educational-artistic field from the domain of technical and technological sciences.

GENERAL GOALS OF THE COURSE

The concept of the study program of Specialization Academic Studies in Architecture is based on a set of general goals:

• Upgrading the knowledge base from graduate academic studies of architecture. The study program of Specialization academic studies ensures knowledge in related fields, in accordance with the principles of the European ​​higher education in general, and especially the European principles of education for the profession of architects and urban planners;

• The program of specialization studies should provide education and qualifications of a focused professional profile in the field of urban renewal;

• The structure of the study program should be such that it clearly reflects the essence of the pedagogic approach and enables the recognition of narrower professional and scientific areas that include the superstructure of the acquired knowledge at graduate academic studies in architecture and related professions;

• The structure of the study program should encourage changes in the disciplinary milieu by introducing modern cultural and professional concepts.

GOALS OF THE COURSE

Specific goals taken into consideration while structuring this course were:

• enable the development of new, contemporary and specific study topics;

• enable international recognition through the development of specific program;

• enable application of contemporary concepts and educational methodology.

Operational goals of the Specialization Academic Studies program are:

• deepening and improvement of professional knowledge and skills in the field of urban renewal of traditional cities;

• deepening knowledge in the field of urban design, architectural design, urban planning and urban management;

• improvement of professional skills that encourage professional work that follows modern trends, especially the principle of sustainable development followed by economic and sociological parameters;

• upgrading the knowledge that enables the perception of the “in sity” urban situations, as well as expert planning action towards the city of the future.

CHARACTER AND DURATION OF STUDIES:

Specialization studies of the second degree have an academic character / one-year studies - 60 ECTS

The study program is multidisciplinary in nature, but it is predominantly conceived in the field of architecture and urban planning;

The content and scope of the program is designed in accordance with current national and relevant foreign regulations and practice.

The outcome of the learning process is the acquisition of specific professional qualifications in the field of urban renewal that would be used in projects and studies related to urban renewal, through research processes in urban areas, in the conception and realization of urban renewal projects, as well as in the practical application of knowledge regarding both management and planning development of the local community.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The content and scope of the program is designed in accordance with current national and relevant foreign regulations and practice.

The outcome of the learning process is the acquisition of specific professional qualifications in the field of urban renewal that would be used in projects and studies related to urban renewal, through research processes in urban areas, in the conception and realization of urban renewal projects, as well as in the practical application of knowledge regarding both management and planning development of the local community.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STUDY PROGRAM

• up to 32 students

• the condition for enrolling in the study program is the completion of master academic studies in architecture, construction or other related fields with a minimum of 300 ECTS credits
