The Red Fox is located conveniently in the center of Middleburg’s shopping and dining district. Just a short walk from our doorstep our guests will find local coffee shops, bakeries, breweries, cideries, boutique clothing and gift shops, and so much more!

Planning Your Stay

NIGHTLY RATES

Our rates are dependent upon season and availability. Please contact our reservations team or visit our website for current availability and rates. Per Fire Marshall Code, all guest rooms and suites are double occupancy, excluding The Gold Cup and The Belmont which can accommodate four guests. Our two cottages, The Middleburg Cottage and The Stable can accommodate up to four guests. Children under the age of four may accompany their parents in a double occupancy room.

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT

In order to guarantee your room reservation, a deposit of the first night’s stay will be due at the time of booking. Any cancellations made prior to 8 days of arrival will result in a $50 cancellation fee per room. Within 8 days of arrival, your remaining balance will be charged and the reservation is considered confirmed and non-refundable. As a small, family-operated business, late cancellations and shortened stays greatly impact us. Within 8 days of your arrival, you are responsible for all the charges of your original booking, even if you are unable to join us as originally planned. We highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to account for any unplanned occurrences.

PARKING

Guests may park in our private gravel lot behind the Red Fox building located at 2 E. Washington Street. The gated parking lot is reserved for your use throughout your stay. Simply pull forward towards the gates to enter and exit at your leisure.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

We guarantee your room to be ready by 4:00PM the day of your arrival. If you arrive before this time, you may access our gravel parking lot and leave your car to explore Middleburg – visit Inn Registration for local recommendations. Please do not unload your luggage prior to check-in as rooms are located throughout the complex. We would be more than happy to assist you to your room once you have checked in. Check-out time is before 11:00AM

CHECK-IN DIRECTIONS

To check in, visit Inn Registration, located on the second floor of the Red Fox building at our 1 N. Madison Street entrance, to receive keys and directions to your room(s). As we are an historic property, we do not have elevators in any of the buildings on our complex.

Red Fox

LIVELY & HISTORIC Rooms 1-5

The Red Fox building includes five suites on the third and fourth floors directly above The Tavern and Night Fox Pub. These Tavern Suites offer the most authentic, lively, and historic experience for our guests. The Red Fox rooms offer spacious bedrooms, separate sitting areas, and bathrooms featuring walk-in showers. The Piedmont and Orange County suites, two of our most popular rooms, overlook Middleburg’s main street, while the Glenwood suite overlooks The Garden Terrace.

Fox Den

IN THE HEART OF THE VILLAGE Rooms 6-9

Just a few doors down from the Red Fox building, the Fox Den includes three rooms and one suite, all providing easy access to boutiques and dining. The Goose Creek, The Rappahannock and The Bull Run are located on the second floor overlooking Washington Street. The Shenandoah, a ground level room with courtyard entrance, provides a private porch to enjoy morning coffee or evening wine.

Middleburg Cottage

PRIVATE COTTAGE RETREAT

Room 10

Enter the Middleburg Cottage through a private, walled courtyard to find beautiful landscaping and a table for al fresco relaxation. The cottage offers two levels designed to provide separate living and sleeping spaces. The first level features a full kitchen and dining space that opens to a living area with a half bath. The second level features a king bedroom and a double twin bedroom connected by a hallway with a full bath. The full bath includes a vanity and shower tub combination. This cottage is great for families and long-term stays.

Carriage House

SECLUDED SUITES

Room 14-16

The Carriage House is comprised of three deluxe king suites located directly off of the picturesque pergola walkway. These suites each offer a spacious king bedroom and comfortable sitting room. Each bathroom features a luxury cast iron soaking tub and walk-in glass shower. The second floor Gold Cup suite provides a queen-size pull-out sleeper sofa in the sitting room that can accommodate up to four guests.

Stray Fox

QUIET & SECLUDED Rooms 24-32

A village block from the Red Fox building, the Stray Fox offers guests the most quiet and secluded stay. This complex is comprised of five rooms, two suites, two cottages, and our peaceful Courtyard Gardens. Many rooms offer an al fresco sitting area for guests to enjoy morning coffee.

Our popular Belmont suite offers a connecting door to the Saratoga room, giving the option to adjoin the two accommodations, ideal for family or friends traveling together. The Zulla and Atoka rooms offer private ground-level entrances to a king room with an updated bathroom complete with walk-in glass shower. The Stable, our luxury cottage, features a spacious king room with private bath and a queen room with private bath, connected by a shared living space – perfect for two couples traveling together or the ultimate friend’s getaway. The Gardener’s Cottage, our smallest cottage nestled in the Courtyard Gardens, offers the most secluded retreat.

A Culinary Experience

Our culinary team creates a seasonal Four Course Tasting Experience using ingredients indigenous to both Virginia and the South, preparing home-style dishes that are simple yet genuine, featuring many ingredients sourced from local purveyors. We showcase a vast selection of local beverages that pay homage to our extraordinary location afoot the rolling hills of Virginia’s wine country.

THE TAVERN

Fieldstone walls, fireplaces, hand-hewn ceiling beams and sporting art create an authentic atmosphere and unforgettable dining experience.
