caramel chilli chicken Looking for a quick low-fat weeknight meal? Look no further with this caramel chilli chicken! INGREDIENTS • 1/3 cup caster sugar • cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, finely grated • garlic cloves, thinly sliced • tablespoon fish sauce • long red chilli, thinly sliced • 1 bunch gai laan, cut into 4cm lengths • 1 bunch broccolini, cut into 4cm lengths • 150g snow peas, trimmed, halved diagonally • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil • g chic en thigh fillets, trimmed, cut into 3cm pieces • Steamed jasmine rice, to serve • Green onions, sliced, to serve Photography by Guy Bailey & Craig Wall METHOD Step 1 Combine sugar and 1/4 cup cold water in a saucepan over low heat.

Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Increase heat to high. Bring to the boil. Boil, without stirring, for 5 to 7 minutes or until mixture turns golden. emove from heat. arefully stir in ginger, garlic, fish sauce and chilli. eturn to heat. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until smooth. Step 2 Meanwhile, cook gai laan, broccolini and peas in a large saucepan of boiling water for 2 minutes or until just tender. Refresh under cold water. Drain. Step 3 Heat oil in a large, deep, nonstic frying pan over medium high heat. Add chicken. Cook for 7 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Add vegetables and caramel mixture. Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes or until caramel mixture thickens and coats chicken. Serve chicken mixture with rice, topped with green onion. Source: www.taste.com.au

how to seal a door Sealing the gaps between your door and door frame is a highly effective way to help draft proof your home. It can help reduce your heating and cooling costs as well as make your home a more comfortable place to live. It’s a simple job that’s quick to do. This video shows you everything you need to know to get the job done. STEP 1. PREPARE DOOR FRAME

Prepare the surface of your door frame. External door frames tend to gather dirt, so wipe it down with a damp cloth. f you find rough edges or lumps in the frame, scrape them down with a paint scraper and neaten the surface up by giving it a light sand. STEP 2. INSTALL THE WEATHER SEAL TAPE

STEP 3. CUT THE ALUMINIUM WEATHER STRIP TO SIZE

Aluminium weather strips are made wider than the size of a standard door. You need to cut them down to size before fitting. tart by shutting your door. Mark where the frame meets the door. Open your door and put the weather strip up against the marks. Copy those marks onto the strip, then use a hacksaw and cutting blade to cut the strip. STEP 4. ATTACH THE WEATHER STRIP TO THE DOOR

Start up in the corner where the door meets the jamb. Peel off the backing on the tape and stick it to the top of the door frame. Run the tape the whole way down to the floor, eeping it nice and straight. Try not to pull the tape too hard as you work down the face – you don’t want to stretch it. Cut the tape and repeat the process for the opposite side and along the top.

To install the button, shut your door and push the flap down. hen hold the button in place, so that it eeps the strip flap down, and screw it in to place. It’s a good idea to mount the button on the hinge side of the door frame.

Place your strip on the door and mark where the holes need to be drilled. Remove the strip and pre-drill holes with a slightly thinner bit than the screws. Install the screws into the holes – but
