Girrakool Blues Festival and Barbecue is a cultural, blues and barbecue event held in the beautiful surrounds of the Mt Penang Gardens, Kariong on the Central Coast NSW. Featuring International, National and Local Blues acts, an Australasian Barbecue Alliance Barbecue Competition, Indigenous Culture, a Comedy MC, all in a New Orleans Themed Mardi Gras styled Festival. Friday will begin with an Aboriginal Welcome to Country lead by Darkinjung Elder Kevin Duncan, followed by the Rhythm Hunters beckoning the crowd with their drumming.

The Mountain Sounds Festival is a boutique and sustainable event product of Australian music, art, and culture located on the Central Coast of New South Wales. Alongside the aim of creating a contemporary event, a significant emphasis will be on showcasing the Central Coast as a tourist destination by involving and promoting the local community and businesses.

The music program will start with four bands up until midnight. Saturday will be a wall of music, kicking off from Midday till Midnight, performed by International and Australian Blues elite. Some of which Girrakool will be their only NSW’s performances before going off to other well known International Arts or Music festivals around the country. RECIPES

INGREDIENTS • 4 x 50g eggs, at room temperature • 4 English muffins, split • 20g baby spinach leaves • 125g shaved ham • 1 avocado, thinly sliced HOLLANDAISE SAUCE • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar • 2 egg yolks • 150g butter, melted, cooled • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

METHOD Step 1 Make hollandaise Process vinegar and egg yolks in a food processor. With motor running, slowly add add butter in a thin stream. This should take 3 minutes. Stir in lemon juice. Transfer to a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Cover surface with wrap. Step 2 Pour water into a saucepan to two-thirds fill it. Add a pinch of salt. Bring to the boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to mediumlow. Break 1 egg into a saucer. Stir water until a whirlpool forms. Slide egg into water. Cook, without stirring, for 3 minutes for a soft yolk or 4 minutes for a semi-soft. Remove to a plate with a slotted spoon. Repeat with remaining eggs. Step 3 Meanwhile, toast muffins. Top muffin bases with spinach, ham, avocado and eggs. Drizzle with hollandaise sauce. Top with muffin tops. Serve.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT

LIGHT PENDANT LIGHTS Pendants lights are a fantastic way to add style and create a mood and atmosphere in your room. You can choose to make a big statement or go for a subtle approach depending on the size of your space and the function of the room. The latest designs come in a range of materials from concrete and metal to natural materials to transform the feel of the room.

LAMPS Dip your grout float into the mixture and spread a generous amount onto the tiles. Use the float to make sure that every joint is full of grout. Always try to grout diagonally across the tiles, so the mixture goes into the gaps. Run the flat edge of the float across the tiles to remove the excess grout. Keep applying the grout until the mixture in the joint starts to set.

DOWNLIGHTS Whether you need general lighting or task lighting, there are a number of things to consider when choosing the right downlights. Generally, these are a versatile option for illuminating any room, from the hallway to the kitchen. The key is to work out how many lights you need for a given space and how to position them correctly. Downlights can either be set flush to the ceiling or recessed for a sloping ceiling which allows you to adjust the angle of the light. Whether you set these up individually or group a few together, decorative spotlights can lend a stylish look to the space and can be adjusted to change the mood of the room. Pointing them towards the ceiling will create a softer, more subdued lighting effect or you can use them to draw the eye to specific features like artworks or furniture. WALL LIGHTS Wall lights come in a range of styles to suit any space and are a great way to create accent lighting around the home or line your hallway.
