how to install solar garden lighting Solar powered lights in the garden look great and help save money on your power bill. Whether it’s in your front or backyard, they’re easy to install yourself. We’ll show you how to assemble the lights and how to activate the solar powered batteries. STEP 1. DECIDE WHERE TO PUT THE SOLAR LIGHTS

Insert the support pole into the head of the solar light. Then attach the stake firmly into the bottom of the support pole. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to assemble all of the other lights in the pack.

STEP 6. ASSEMBLE THE BUTTERFLY LIGHT

STEP 4. INSTALL THE LIGHTS

o assemble the butterfly light, insert the support pole into the base of the butterfly. hen attach the stake.

Before you start, decide where you want to place the garden lights. In this instance, they’re being placed along a path. This is being done for safety reasons and to make the path stand out at night.

STEP 7. SWITCH THE CHARGER ON

Make sure you place the lights somewhere that they will get enough sunlight, this will let them shine brighter for longer. To install the lights, insert the stake into the ground. Place the solar lights an even distance apart. Check to make sure that the light is secure and won’t fall or be blown over.

STEP 2. REMOVE THE TAG

STEP 5. REMOVE THE STICKER he first step is to remove the top of the solar light and pull out the tag that stops the solar battery from recharging. Put the top of the light back together. Make sure you do this for all of the solar lights or they won’t work.

There’s a switch underneath the solar panel for the butterfly, turn it on, so the battery will start charging. Remove the sticker covering the solar panel. STEP 8. INSTALL THE BUTTERFLY LIGHT

STEP 3. ASSEMBLE THE SOLAR LIGHTS After you’ve placed your solar lights where you want them, peel off the sticker that covers the solar panel, on the top of the lights. The solar lights will now start charging.

Choose the ideal location for your butterfly light, it could be in your garden or a pot plant. Firmly insert the stake into the ground. Make sure the light is secure and won’t fall or be blown over.

banana and cinnamon french toast Turn a French toast breakfast into a gourmet classic with cinnamon spice and banana. INGREDIENTS • 3 eggs, lightly beaten • 1/2 cup milk • 1/4 cup cream • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence • 1 tablespoon icing sugar • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 4 2.5cm-thick slices day-old brioche (see note) • 2 tablespoons butter • 3 bananas, sliced lengthways • Pure maple syrup, to serve

METHOD Step 1 Combine eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, icing sugar and cinnamon in a large jug. Whisk with a fork until well combined. Pour mixture into a shallow ceramic dish.

Step 2 Preheat oven to 180°C. Dip 2 brioche slices in milk mixture for 30 seconds to 1 minute each side or until well soaked. Hold over dish to drain. Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a large frying pan over medium heat until bubbling. Add soaked brioche. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes each side or until golden. Transfer to a baking tray. Keep warm in oven. Repeat with remaining butter and brioche. Step 3 Place French toast on plates. Top with banana. Drizzle with maple syrup. Serve. Source: www.taste.com.au

heatproof bowl. Stand for 5 minutes. Stir in bicarbonate of soda. Step 2 Combine flour, ginger and walnuts in a bowl. Make a well in the centre. Add date mi ture, milk, oil and egg. Stir with a wooden spoon until just combined. Spoon mixture into holes of prepared pan. Step 3 Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Stand in pans for 5 minutes. greek-style stuffed capsicums Capsicum makes a sweet, tasty container for the Greek-style beef mince filling. INGREDIENTS • 4 large red capsicums • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil • 1 large brown onion, finely chopped • 2 garlic cloves, crushed • 300g lean beef mince • 1 tablespoon dried oregano • 1/2 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, roughly chopped • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, roughly chopped • 400g can chopped tomatoes • 1/2 cup SunRice long grain white rice • Salad leaves, to serve

lined roasting pan. Step 2 Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add onion. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until softened. Add garlic. Cook for 1 minute or until fragrant. Add mince. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up mince, for 5 minutes or until browned. Add herbs, tomato, rice and 1/2 cup cold water. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 5 minutes or until sauce starts to thicken. Remove from heat. Step 3 Divide mince mixture evenly between capsicums. Place 1 reserved top on each stuffed capsicum. Drizzle with remaining oil. METHOD Step 1 Preheat oven 180C/160C fan-forced. char kway teow With plump prawns and a garlic-soy sauce, these slippery rice noodles are irresistible. INGREDIENTS • 375g pkt large rice stick noodles • 60ml (1/4 cup) vegetable oil • 200g medium green prawns, peeled leaving tails intact, deveined • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped • 1 tablespoon sambal oelek • 2 tablespoons soy sauce • 2 tablespoons kecap manis • 2 eggs, lightly whisked • 100g bean sprouts, trimmed • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

METHOD Step 1 Place the noodles in a large heatproof bowl. Cover with boiling water and set aside until the noodles are tender. Drain and set aside to cool. Step 2 Heat the oil in a wok over medium-high heat until just smoking. Stirfry the prawns, garlic and sambal oelek for 2 minutes or until the prawns curl and change colour. Add the noodles, soy sauce and kecap manis. Stir-fry for 1 minute or until combined. Step 3 Add the egg and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Add the bean sprouts and half the chives and stir-fry for 2 minutes or until the egg is just cooked. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with the remaining chives.

The choice of upgrade package is available to all eligible customers who pay an initial fee between January 10 and March 6 2016 and have confirmed ‘Titled Land’. The building contract must be signed by May 15, 2016. These upgrade packages cannot be redeemed as cash or credit and only one package can be selected. The choice of upgrade package is available on all Hotondo Homes standard floor plans or Hotondo Homes modified floor plans. For any unforeseen reason should a product not be available, Hotondo Homes will substitute this with a product of equal or greater value.
