THE RED HOT SUMMER TOUR Kiama Showground Sunday 20 March 2016 1:00pm – 8:30pm As one of the hottest summer festivals on the calendar, the annual RED HOT SUMMER TOUR is once again bringing out an incredible line-up of the best talent in the Australian Music Industry. The 2016 tour features the proverbial who’s who of Oz rock royalty; featuring Jimmy Barnes, Noiseworks, The Angels, Mark Seymour & The Undertow and The Badloves. Set to be the largest tour in the festival’s history, audiences can expect a day jam packed with classic hits with dates running throughout Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania. RED HOT SUMMER TOUR promoter Duane McDonald says the 2016 festival will be huge, with 15 shows booked. “We always receive requests from audiences in regional areas to bring the tour through their town,” he says. “This year we have expanded to take the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR to new areas and new venues, which makes it the biggest run we have done for the tour to date. We can’t wait to get out on the road in 2016.” Jimmy Barnes needs no introduction to Aussie audiences. As a legend both from his time fronting Cold Chisel and his top charting solo career, Barnes has toured the breadth of Australia. He has an enviable back catalogue that makes for incredible

live performances with songs like Working Class Man, When Your Love Is Gone and No Second Prize to name a few. It has been a few years since Jimmy Barnes has headlined the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR, so it is no surprise that his return is highly anticipated. The 2016 Red Hot Summer Tour gives rock fans a chance to see Jimmy Barnes at his best and enjoy classic hits which have made him an icon in the Australian music scene. Noiseworks are Australian rock legends and are well reputed for their incredible live shows. They are adored by music fans and critics alike. BULBS GROW ANYWHERE Bulbs come in all shapes and sizes so there’s no need to limit them to your garden beds - you can plant them in pots and put them in any area of your home. Daffodils, tulips and hyacinths are excellent bulbs for pots and you can plant about 8 of them in each one.

Autumn is bulb planting season. If you want to greet spring with an explosion of colour and fragrance this year, you need to get in your garden and start planting your bulbs now. So grab your shovel and your gloves, and get planting.

FILL YOUR GARDEN WITH COLOUR Spring blooming bulbs come in an array of colours. There are all sorts of varieties to choose from including daffodils, tulips, alliums, freesias and hyacinths. FIND THE BEST SPOT TO PLANT If you haven’t planted bulbs before, it’s easy. All you need is a sunny spot and a watering can. If you’re planting them in a garden bed, make sure it’s in an area that’s well drained. You don’t need to plant them deep - roughly twice the height of the bulb will do - then press them in and you’re done. TOP TIPS FOR SPRING BULBS Plant your bulbs in early autumn for best results. Try and plant your bulbs immediately after you buy them - if you can’t, make sure you store them in a cool, dark, dry place. Place shorter bulbs at the front of your garden beds. For visual impact, place your bulbs in zigzags rather than in a straight line. Add compost to your soil for added nutrients and drainage. Make a grand statement with colour by mixing different bulbs together. If you’re unsure how many to plant, more is always better.

beef and lentil slice The beef and lentil sliced is easy to make, healthy and a delicious way to eat lentils. Step 2 Finely chop 1 onion and 1 carrot and place in a large bowl. Add mince, 3/4 cup of lentils, eggwhite and stock. Mix until well combined. Press mixture firmly into prepared dish. Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked through. Step 3 Preheat a grill on high heat. Place slice under grill for 5 minutes or until browned. Step 4 Meanwhile, thinly slice remaining onion. Peel remaining carrot into long, wide ribbons. Place in a bowl. Add salad leaves and remaining lentils. Toss to combine. METHOD Step 5 Step 1 Preheat oven to 180°C. Spray a 5cmdeep, Cut slice into four pieces. Divide between plates. broccoli and tuna rice pie This rice and broccoli bake is a great way to incorporate vegetables into meals. INGREDIENTS • 1 cup cooked SunRice White Medium Grain Rice (see note) • 425g can tuna in springwater, drained well • 1/2 cup grilled capsicum, roughly chopped (see note) • 250g broccoli, cut into small florets • 1/2 cup grated pizza cheese • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives • 8 eggs • 1/3 cup milk

METHOD Step 1 Preheat oven to 180C/160C fan-forced. Grease a 6cm-deep, 24cm round (top) pie dish. Step 2 Place rice, tuna, capsicum, broccoli, cheese, basil and chives in a bowl. Stir to combine. Spoon mixture into pie dish. Whisk eggs and milk together in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Pour over rice mixture. Tap dish on bench to remove air bubbles. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes or until firm, covering with foil if over browning during cooking. Stand for 5 minutes. Cut into wedges. Serve.
