• Most Spanish-speaking (82%) and nonSpanish-speaking (71%) voters believe it is important that Spanish be taught in school.

According to the latest data from the Census Bureau, the Hispanic population is the largest minority group in the United States. Almost 42 million people in the United States are native Spanish speakers and, furthermore, more than half (55%) of these had already been born in the country. On the other hand, this trend continues to rise. In fact, according to the most recent data from the Cervantes Institute, in the year 2060, the United States will be the second country in the world with the largest number of Spanish-speakers, only behind Mexico.

Methodology

Public opinion poll of n=1,000 frequent voters nationwide (n=500 Spanish-speaking frequent voters and n=500 non-Spanishspeaking frequent voters) conducted online by LSG from March 17-29, 2023; MOE +/-3%.

• 58% of Spanish-speaking voters and 48% of non-Spanish-speaking voters believe that the United States is likely to elect a president whose first language is Spanish in the next 25 years.
