NAT RICHARDSON

President

Hello Decatur Community! This year has proven to be another challenging year across all healthcare environments. While there have been many attempts made to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the recent Tax Legislation passed by Congress repealed the individual mandate that required individuals to purchase health insurance. This change will cause many healthcare organizations financial hardships. Many individuals will cancel their insurance policies, increasing the percentage of bad debt hospitals will experience.

provide citizens in our community preeminent healthcare for years to come. These projects will include a substantial increase in private rooms, complete renovation of the Emergency Department, new MRI Suite located inside the hospital and new Dialysis Center all funded by a substantial accelerated capital infusion of $20 million dollars from Huntsville Hospital Health System. Your support of Decatur Morgan’s Foundation has been instrumental over the years and particularly this past year to provide funding for renovated Mammography Suites, new 3D Digital Mammography Technology, Lobby renovations, a Biodex

Over the next couple of years, Decatur Morgan Hospital will embark upon several major capital projects to ensure the physicians and Decatur Morgan Hospital teams are able to provide citizens in our community preeminent healthcare for years to come. More hospitals are closing across the nation and two more hospitals in Alabama are on the verge of closing in the near future. Decatur Morgan Hospital continues to be one of the lowest reimbursed hospitals in the nation; however, our focus on quality, customer service and a healing environment has not wavered. Over the next couple of years, Decatur Morgan Hospital will embark upon several major capital projects to ensure the physicians and the Decatur Morgan Hospital teams are able to
