Import/Exports from Excel* can eliminate the need to perform manual entry directly in the module, while still ensuring conformance to earned value guidelines. Our software does 30 different checks on WBS import alone to ensure imported data is valid and identifies any issue clearly. It is very difficult to put bad data into our system! Numerous checks within the tool ensures exported data is “clean” and usable, ensuring easy import into any analysis product if desired. It is easy to change the parent/child relationship in WBS. While it is unusual that you will have to change a parent, it can be very time consuming if this issue does come up using other products.
