Master clocks are one of Schauer’s most important products. They are mounted according to individual project requirements to control analogue and digital secondary clocks or switch electrical appliances and are usually synchronised by DCF or GPS. Such clocks are designed for schools, hospitals, airports, train stations, local public transport premises and other public buildings.
The BMC model controls 1 slave clock line and 2 relay outputs. By means of Schauer RS485 bus it can be extended easily with line-, relayand network modules. To be mounted on top hat rail or into switch cabinets.
The LCU model controls 1 slave clock line and 2 relay outputs with weekday program. Due to its compact design, the master clock is easily mounted on walls or in cabinets.
In the MPU model line, the standard model controls 2 slave clock lines and 4 relay outputs. A day, week and year programme as well as a public holiday calendar is included. The MPU can be adapted to satisfy the specific requirements by additional modules. New version with built-in network interface available.
Central clocks are used in large projects. These units are made up of one master clock and several slave line modules using 19” rack technology, which are adapted to project requirements. System configuration allows also peripheral sub clock centrals, which are controlled via Schauer RS485 bus or TCP/IP.

The shown central clock consists of one UZ-BMC-I104 master clock, eight UZ-BMC-LINIE line amplifiers with digital display, and a standard power supply unit mounted in a 19“ rack cabinet. Each line module serves two slave clock lines for up to 100 slave clocks per output.
Another important component of the standard range of products are
analogue clocks These clocks have flat elegant cases, slender conical or straight hands and are equipped with protective glass; they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor usage. Analogue clocks are equipped with secondary, NTP, synchronous, quartz batteries or DCF movements. Each clock may be delivered with hour, minute or second hands, and has one or two faces. The single sided clocks being fitted for mounting on walls while the double-sided clocks are fitted with ceiling- or wall brackets. Our range also includes special designs such as moisture proof and explosion proof clocks.
The ‘N’ model range suitable for indoor usage has a plastic clock face with hour marks or figures, a white plastic case and a flat protective cover. The ‘N’ model may be obtained in 23, 30 or 40 cm diameter sizes.
The ‘W’ model range suitable for indoor usage has an aluminium clock face with hour marks or figures, a grey plastic or aluminium case as well as a domed protective glass. Models are available in 23, 30, 40, 60, 80 and 90 cm diameter sizes.
The ‘W’ model range is suitable for usage outdoor or in damp rooms. This model has a clock face with hour marks or figures, a grey aluminium case with a back panel and a domed protective glass. Models are available in 40, 60, 80 and 90 cm diameter sizes, upon request illuminated versions are deliverable. The ‘V’ model range suitable for indoor or outdoor usage has an aluminium or Plexiglas clock face with hour marks or figures and a flat protective glass. This model has side lengths of 23, 30, 40, 60, 80 and 90 cm. Illuminated versions are available for models with side lengths of 40 cm upwards. The analogue world time zone clock covers 9 time zones and is controlled by a special world time master clock. This ensures the exact time of the analogue clocks as well as summer/winter time changes in the different time zones.

Our stylish
digital clocks offer a wide range of different options and combination possibilities. The digital clocks can display time, date, weekday, month and temperature. They may also have one or two faces thereby offering the desired solution for every purpose: from the time display in the multilingual calendar clock to the world time display which has 5 or more time zones.
Model range: BT series has a flat black plastic case and red or green digits that are 5 or 7 cm in height. (Figure colours of blue or yellow are also available with certain models). These models are installed as secondary clocks within a clock system or as individual clocks (partly synchronised by DCF or by NTP) and have an automatic illumination control. The date display is available in various languages.
Model range: BT-LCD series has a flat silver plastic case and black digits that are 7 or 14 cm in height. (Other case colours are available upon request). Model range: 400 series, clocks in this range may have one or two faces, the standard case is made from aluminium and is available in anodised silver, bronze or black and with manual or automatic illumination control. Options include flush mounting cases, as well as IP 65 cases. The digits, depending on the model, may be 20, 50, 57,100, 120, 170 or 220 mm in height and red, green or blue in colour. The date display option may be set in various languages. In a secondary clock synchronisation is ensured by means of a serial time signal or a polarised impulse. In the case of stand-alone operation an external synchronisation maybe carried out by either DCF, GPS or NTP.–
World time display: 400 series, clocks in this series may have black or silver anodised aluminium cases. They come in three versions, one-sided clocks that are fitted for mounting on walls, double-sided clocks that are fitted with ceiling brackets and a flush mounting version. The dot matrix or 7-segment display can be provided with red or green LED´s with digit sizes of 25, 50, 57, 100 or 120 mm. Three to eight time zones may be displayed horizontally or vertically allowing for the inscription of the names of specific cities. The date display option can be set for various languages.
The HM series of
time and temperature displays for outdoor usage complements Schauer’s digital clock range and are generally combined with advertising inscriptions. The HM series of time-temperature LED displays suitable for indoor and outdoor usage have an aluminium case, a LED display in red. These displays with digit sizes of 15, 19, 25, 30 or 45 cm, are available as one-sided clocks that are fitted for mounting on walls or double sided clocks that are fitted with ceiling brackets. Additional temperature displays (air or water) can be added to this model with synchronisation by DCF, GPS or minute impulses from a master clock.

Four-sided clocks, pole mounted clocks and arm mounted clocks which are made from stainless steel, aluminium or copper are typical of the clocks we provide for outdoor usage. Moreover, the clock case may also be lacquered, coated or surface treated (e.g. gold-plate) and comes with a wide variety of options concerning the clock face, hands and inscription. This makes each Schauer clock unique.
Another category of products supplied by Schauer is
scoreboards These products are LED displays for “traditional indoor sports” such as basketball, handball, volleyball, tennis, ice hockey, table tennis, futsal, wrestling, boxing or badminton. SCHAUER throughout the ages The name MATTIG-SCHAUER originated out of the merger between MATTIG GmbH and SCHAUER Time & Communication Systems in 1999.
At the beginning of the 1930’s, SCHAUER launched the production and sale of clocks systems, which are still today the core of its production and sales activities.
SCHAUER time-systems are focused on the development, design, production and worldwide sales of clocks and clock systems.
The beginnings of SCHAUER in 1839 had been in the development, production and sales of tower clocks in Austria and South Eastern Europe (former Austrian-Hungarian Empire).
Pioneering inventions such as the mechanical time storage or the electric winding device increased, even in those days, the reputation of SCHAUER clocks beyond the borders of Austria.
Nowadays our master clocks and central clock systems, synchronised by DCF or GPS, control a large number of digital and analogue secondary clocks in airports, schools, hospitals, public buildings, train stations and subways.
Sport boards or time and temperature displays are just as important as promotional and ornamental clocks, which are tailor-made to meet customer’s individual requirements. In fact, this personalised service is a SCHAUER speciality.
