Reed Cagle

Reed Cagle is an esteemed consultant in the energy and oil industries. He is recognized for applying his substantial expertise to optimize client operations and promote innovative drilling techniques. Born in 1962 in Clarksville, Texas, he has remained closely tied to Texas throughout his extensive travels, always considering it his permanent home. Cagle and his wife, Donna, have been happily married for over three decades. They raised their son together and lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from 1999 until their return to Plano, Texas, in 2017, where they continue to live. His career in the oil industry commenced in 1986 at Kinlaw Oil Corporation, where his initial role ignited a lifelong passion for the industry. He advanced rapidly, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the business. In 1996, motivated by a desire to forge his path, Reed left Kinlaw to establish his own company in Dallas, Texas. A year later, he founded Heartland Energy Inc., which he would later oversee as HEI, serving as president and CEO. Under his leadership, the company formed partnerships across the industry, enhancing exploration efforts and development in oil, gas, and minerals. Cagle ventured into the drilling services sector in 2006 by partnering with Midcontinent Drilling. He financed and built a 2000-horsepower drilling rig, significantly advancing the company's drilling capabilities to depths of up to 20,000 feet.
