Announcing the Theme Country/Region of IFEX 2013 Asia’s largest B-to-B flower trade show – IFEX will be held for the 10th time this autumn at Makuhari Messe, Japan. http://www.ifex.jp/en/ Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the show, IFEX has something extra special lined up this year.

IFEX 2013 Theme Country/Region: Taiwan Starting this year, IFEX will be featuring a country/region as an annual show theme.

The country/region to mark the start of this special programme will be Taiwan .

Taiwan pavilion (at IFEX 2012)

Being a major exporter of cut flowers to the Japanese market, Taiwan will be able to take advantage of this opportunity and make extra promotion of their products to Japanese buyers through the show. Also as IFEX is established as the ultimate platform to find buyers from all over Asia as well as Japan, exhibitors will be able to promote their proud collection of flowers to a vast range of potential business partners.

Evidently, the Taiwan pavilion will be expanding its size by 50 % this year and around 10 exhibitors will gather. Examples of such exhibitors are Royal Base Corporation, Solidlite Corporation, Large Sun Trading Co., Ltd., Chi Yueh Enterprises Ltd., and Yow Chen Plastic Co., Ltd. The major exhibits will be orchids.

Other updates: New zones/fairs held within IFEX 2013 With the special occasion of its 10th anniversary, IFEX 2013 is sure to bring extra excitement, energy and promising business.

A number of zones/fairs will be newly launched within IFEX and the one especially to look out for would be the “Floristry Items Fair”.

Various flower related packaging and accessories products of all genres and themes will gather from all over Japan and the world to be showcased at this zone. 80 exhibitors have already secured their space.

Other zones/fairs are also planned to be launched such as zones specialising in products related to Mother’s Day, IT solutions, logistics etc. Details are to be released soon.

Participants will also be able to find new business opportunities at the concurrently held show, “AGRITECH JAPAN – INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL MATERIAL & TECHNOLOGY EXPO TOKYO”.

Various agricultural technologies and equipment such as; fertilisers, agricultural machinery, horticultural products, harvesting system…etc. from around the globe will be gathered at the show. In response to the success of the previous show, the scale will be doubling, with increase in both the number and variety of exhibits. As well as Japanese companies, exhibitors will be participating from China, Korea, Holland, Taiwan etc.

Korea will be strengthening their presence this year, by the support of Korea Agricultural Machinery Industry Cooperative and largely expanding their exhibit space.

The exhibit zone within AGRITECH JAPAN which may especially grab the attention of industry professionals would be the “Photovoltaic Generation Zone”.

As the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan has recently loosened the

regulations for photovoltaic generation in agricultural lands, “solar-sharing” (Process in which farmers can generate solar power on the same land where they grow crops and sell the power to utilities) has become possible in Japan.

With this increased opportunity and already high interest in photovoltaic energy in Japan, numerous photovoltaic panel manufacturers, photovoltaic generation system manufacturers, maintenance companies etc. have taken the chance to exhibit at AGRITECH JAPAN in hope to conduct business with Japanese farmers, agricultural corporations, agricultural cooperatives and other players of this particular market.
