1.00pm – 2.20pm Energy efficiency schemes: Meeting the energy challenges of the next decade

12:15pm – 12:40pm Innovative approaches to complex problems

There is huge diversity in the ways that commercial buildings are used across the economy, however the technologies and strategies for driving a dramatic improvement in energy performance are often very similar. This session will focus on the immediate steps that a range of commercial building types – health care, aged care, universities, warehouses, and others – can take to evaluate energy performance, tune existing assets, and make data driven investments that have an immediate impacts on their energy bill.

Australia’s energy efficiency schemes have been the quiet achievers of the energy transition, saving households and businesses in the ACT, NSW, South Australia, Victoria hundreds of millions over the last decade. This session will consider the future of schemes. As our energy system transitions and the value of demand side flexibility increases the job we are asking the schemes to do may need to change or expand.
