2016 HIGHLIGHTS PLANNING MADE EASY Newly designed show floor with intelligently merchandised Neighborhoods. Exhibitors were grouped by similar product categories to make for an easier shopping experience.

RENEWED FOCUS ON DESIGN The Reimagined Design Center introduced a new exhibiting model which brought in unique and exciting talent including 7 aspiring design students (Kickstarters) and 21 Rising Stars alongside the veteran resident jewelry designers. Addition of new Neighborhood, The Bridge, was comprised of global brands featuring on trend costume/ bridge jewelry at accessible price points.

PERSONAL VENDOR RECOMMENDATIONS JCK Match provided retailers with personal vendor recommendations based on their product sourcing interests.

NEW & IMPROVED JCK MOBILE APP Enhanced mobile app features allowed visitors to navigate the event with indoor GPS – the app synced with attendees online MY SHOW account to instantly access all of their favorited vendors and saved information.

NEW HOSTED BUYER PROGRAM In its inaugural year, the Loyalist Program brought the industry’s top international and domestic design and boutique retailers. Aaron Faber Gallery, Worthmore Jewelers, Aspen Jewel Box, R. Grey Gallery, Eliza Page and Sausalito Jewelers were a few of the many in the crowd.

EVENTS AND EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS INSIDER TREND DOWNLOADS SET THE STAGE The new Showcase Stage played host to numerous merchandising events, panel discussions, competitions, and talks throughout the long weekend. The events were presided over, in large part, by the many members of the styling and editorial communities who were present at the show this year. These important influencers included costume designers Lyn Paolo, Lauren Bott, and Ann Foley; bloggers Liza Urla of Gemologue, Stacy Stahl of How He Asked, and Syl Tang of The Hip Guide & Financial Times; Editors: Shannon Adducci of Billboard Magazine, Sari Tuschman of The Zoe Report, and Jillian Magenheim of OliviaPalermo.com. Other events featured artists Angie Crabtree and Hannah Becker of Diamondoodles, whose work has captured the hearts of jewelry enthusiasts en masse over the past year through their wellfollowed Instagram feeds.

JCK Talks was first on the agenda on Thursday, June 2, a day prior to the JCK show floor opening. 'The Talks', JCK's education component, included eighteen informative discussions including the much discussed panel: Lab-Grown Diamonds: Threat or Opportunity (or Both?) where standing room only crowds listened intently as panelists: Stanley Zale, Vice President of Diamonds & Gemstones, Stuller; Jack Gabriel, CEO, Gabriel & Co.; Maarten de Witte, Master Diamond Cutter, Diamond Foundry; Dr. James Shigley, Research Fellow, GIA; and Jean-Marc Lieberherr, CEO, Diamond Producers Association debated over what jewelers need to know to make informed decisions in their buying and selling activities. Other session highlights included LGBT Community: How to Merchandise and Market your Store to Attract New Customers and Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing.

JCK ROCKS THE BEACH Las Vegas Jewelry week culminated with a Sunday evening bash of epic proportions. The entire industry was brought to their feet under the night sky at the inimitable Rocks the Beach party, headlined by Train. The evening was a vibrant and memorable send-off from a great show.
