Liebe Besucherinnen und Besucher, liebe Ausstellerinnen und Aussteller,
nach vier Jahren des Wartens ist es wieder so weit: Die ALUMINIUM öffnet ihre Tore und feiert dabei ein kleines Jubiläum. Denn vor 25 Jahren fand die Messe zum ersten Mal statt. Das unterstreicht ihre Bedeutung und ihren Anspruch als Weltleitmesse für unsere Industrie und den Werkstoff. Mit über 700 Austellern und zahlreichen Expertinnen und Experten aus aller Welt kommt hier die internationale Aluminium-Community zusammen. In diesen angespannten Zeiten setzt die Messe ein positives Zeichen und – auch wenn es aktuell nicht leichtfällt – Zuversicht ist der richtige Begleiter. Aluminium ist der Zukunftswerkstoff, der Enabler auf unserem Weg hin zu einer klimaneutralen Industrie und Gesellschaft. Denn wir alle wissen, dass die Bewältigung der großen Herausforderungen, vor denen unsere Gesellschaft steht, nur mit unserem Werkstoff möglich ist. Der Ausbau der erneuerbaren Energien funktioniert nur mit Aluminium, ebenso wie der Hochlauf der Elektromobilität – um nur zwei prominente Beispiele unter vielen zu nennen. Dementsprechend steht die ALUMINIUM in diesem Jahr vor allem unter dem Zeichen von Nachhaltigkeit und Dekarbonisierung. Unsere Industrie befindet sich in einem nie dagewesenen Transformationsprozess und wird sich in den kommenden Jahren grundlegend wandeln. Das gilt für die gesamte Aluminium-Lieferkette von den Primärproduzenten über die Halbzeuger bis hin zu den Recyclern und bezieht auch unsere Kundenbranchen mit ein. Zudem eröffnen Digitalisierung und Circular Economy neue Geschäftsfelder und -modelle. Den bereits eingeschlagenen Pfad zeigen die Unternehmen hier mit ihren Produkten und Innovationen. Sie demonstrieren eindrucksvoll, welche Lösungskompetenz in Aluminium steckt. Seien Sie sich sicher: Die Industrie liefert!
Zudem gibt es auf der ALUMINIUM in diesem Jahr wichtige Neuerung: Zum ersten Mal findet die Conference an allen drei Messetagen auf dem Gelände statt. Mit diesem logischen Schritt stellt sich die Messe organisatorisch sowie inhaltlich noch besser auf – die Conference ist ein Muss für jede Expertin und jeden Experten aus der Branche. Das Programm umfasst die top-aktuellen Themen Sustainability, Mobility, Additive Manufacturing sowie Building & Construction. In Halle 3 kommen bei der Conference Entscheiderinnen und Entscheider aus Wirtschaft, Industrie und Politik sowie von Think Tanks und NGOs zusammen und teilen ihre Sicht auf Industrie und Werkstoff mit uns. Das ermöglicht uns einen noch intensiveren Dialog und hilft uns dabei, den Blick zu schärfen, um die vor uns liegenden Aufgaben erfolgreich zu meistern.
Wie Sie sehen: Am Werkstoff und an der ALUMINIUM führt kein Weg vorbei. Ich freue mich auf Ihren Besuch, neue und bekannte Kontakte und viele interessante Diskussionen!

Dear visitors, dear exhibitors,
After four years of waiting, ALUMINIUM is opening its doors again and celebrating a small anniversary. 25 years ago, the fair was held for the first time. This underlines its importance and its claim to be the world‘s leading trade fair for our industry and the material. With over 700 exhibitors and numerous experts from all over the world, the international aluminium community comes all together here. In these tense times, the fair sends a positive signal and - even if it is not easy at the moment - confidence is the right spirit to follow. Aluminium is the material of the future, the enabler on our way to a climate-neutral industry and society. Because we all know that overcoming the major challenges facing our society is only possible with our material. The increase in renewable energies only works with aluminium, as does the take-off of electromobility - to name just two prominent examples among many.
Accordingly, this year‘s ALUMINIUM is above all under the sign of sustainability and decarbonisation. Our industry is undergoing an unmatched transformation process and will change fundamentally in the upcoming years. This applies to the entire aluminium supply chain, from primary producers to semi-finished products to recyclers, and also includes our customer industries. In addition, digitalisation and the circular economy are opening up new business areas and models. The companies here show the path they have already taken with their products and innovations. They impressively demonstrate the solution expertise that aluminium has to offer. Be sure: the industry performs!

In addition, there is an important innovation at this year‘ s ALUMINIUM: for the first time, the Conference will be held on all three days of the fair. With this logical step, the fair is positioning itself even better in terms of organisation and content - the conference is a must for every expert in the industry. The programme includes the current topics of Sustainability, Mobility, Additive Manufacturing and Building & Construction. In Hall 3, decision-makers from business, industry and politics as well as from Think Tanks and NGOs will come together at the conference and share their views on industry and materials with us. This enables us to engage in an even more intensive dialogue and helps us to sharpen our focus in order to successfully master the tasks ahead of us.
As you can see: There is no way around the material and the ALUMINIUM. I look forward to your visit, new and familiar contacts and many interesting discussions!
