CARIN (NOUN) A man-made pile of stones used as a memorial or landmark; typically wide at the base and narrow at the top 1655 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

The Carin is a free-entry public art gallery constructed of steel, glass, and brick. With over 500 angled panels and an sDA of 51%, the Carin will only need to use artificial lighting when the sun is not out. The tower-like art gallery allows so much indirect sunlight to enter due to its specifically angled panels and thin floor plates of 20 feet in width. The courtyard allows more light to enter while giving both workers and visitors a nice break of scenery. The double skin facade keeps the Carin at a cool temperature of 68°F-75°F during the summer and during the winter it prevents heat from escaping.

AWARENESS SCULPTURE PROCESS

S LAVE RY C IVI L WAR CIVIL RIGHTS

The main attraction is already the mountain istelf, which can be seen from 60+ mi away. This project seeks to further educate visitors on our intolerable hisotry in America. The Awareness Sculpture is 100ft tall. The color red was chosen because it represents blood, violence, and sacrifice, i

but it also represents love, passion, and courage. The Awareness Sculpture engraves history into the site with its special form representing slavery, civil war, and civil rights. All events that had happened in the past, are still extremely relevant to today. The Awareness Sculpture is

26

on top of the World’s largest Confederate Monument to show that we are aware of the awful past America has had and that we are now learning from the past to create a better and more equal future for everyone.
